This is the way a video showing a simple thing should be. I did have a slight issue when I twisted the inner key a little too hard and everything came apart. Took a little more time to get the buttons lined up inside. But pausing the video showed me the proper alignment/orientation. FYI bottom of the fob is where the inner key gets inserted.

I have 2 toyota vehicle with this key fob type, which means I have 4 fobs. When i replaced the batteries, each one had the small spring and the push tab to release key come popping out. Your vid helped me figure out how to reassemble these 2 pieces. thx

Thanks! I saved a ton of $$ doing this. I did have a little trouble getting the battery all the way in; the remote very kindly flashed so I knew something wasn’t right so took it out and put it in again. Kind of hard to get in right but it worked fine then.

It goes on the button that releases the key. I can make a quick video if you want to see where it goes.

Will that spare key actually start the vehicle if needed? I have a 2019, but didn't think it had any type of ignition other than the push button....

The spare key on a push button start is only to lock/unlock the door when the battery in the key fob dies.

Yes, good, but a warning. In your video the side button that releases the key and the small spring that works with it remained in place when you opened the case. My experience was the button and spring dislodged upon opening the case, so now I've got to figure out how to get those back in place (and that spring is very small).
