Surely many people are confused about why Kuwabara here can see botan. During the early part of anime series, Kuwabara is stated as being able to hear and feel the presence of ghosts, but are only able to see them when asleep. As the series progresses, the usage and amount of his spiritual abilities and energy becomes stronger. Kuwabara has always had the ability to sense when ghosts and other paranormal beings are around. Kuwabara can also sense the emotions and intentions of others. So Kuwabara was born as a human who could do that naturally.
Also the mirror has its own conciousness and would probably say no to immortality. In the show Yusuke and Kurama's offer for a selfless wish moves it to grant the wish for free.
So, Kurama backstory. He was originally a demon fox known as Yoko Kurama. The story he told happened, he hid in the egg. He did not take the soul though, his soul fused with the human soul.
So the Kurama we see, is not the original demon that he was before. He is a mixture of both the human who he took over and the demon. The human wasn't lost, he IS that human, combined with the Yokai he was prior.
He retained all his memories of course though and the human hadn't ever formed memories obviously, so he identifies more as his prior self, but he isn't quite the same entity anymore.
Also, he can trust him because he saw the fight before. He also saw how Yusuke handled the kid and his reaction to the kid being in danger. He learned all he needed to know about Yusuke's character from that interaction.
Lastly, the giving up half life was a slight change from the anime. In the anime he just asks the mirror to take his life instead of kurama's and it just conveniently chooses to not take any due to Yusuke's noble deed offering his instead.
This is a bit better, especially considering it was ALREADY a noble wish, so why would another noble request void the contract. it's also called the Forelorn Hope in the anime, so it's SUPPOSED to be something that leads to suffering.
I wish the discussion with Yusuke touched up on Kurama's guilt. He loves his mother dearly but feels immense guilt for her condition. It's part of the reason he's so desperate to save her- he feels he broke her spirit and made her ill because he was a difficult child.
I really wish they had that discussion, that just put depth in who Kurama is and why was he so desperate to save the woman who raised him.
Remember this is an anime. Yea that demon was strong(not hulk strong but strong), but Yusuke is too. In the anime he breaks an entire tree trunk on the demon trying and failing to stab him with it. Still, he lifted it and had the strength to shatter it against the guy's skin.
What the hell? Kuwabara would NEVER act like that. He is a big heart and boundless compassion, it makes he gullible but it also allows him to see the good in others. Yusuke, and certainly Hiei, would express doubt, but not Kuwabara.
I 2nd the notion of watching the anime BTW. Also, this is one of those DUB>Sub anime, it's great.
Great pacing, fights nearly every episode, but more heart and character that most anime with a fight once every 50. This is from the same mangaka as Hunter x Hunter.
Each episode fight scene get more and more epic. Hope you enjoy this show in later episode. Especially when fighting Toguro.
Actually, his mother was barely pregnant, the child was an embryo and hadnt yet been assigned a soul by the spirit world when Youko Kurama hid inside of said embryo inside of the womb of Shiori Minamino. And his mother was married. Shuichi's father died when he was little.
His mother named him "Shuichi". ❤
Ohhh I see, they're doing the first several arcs all at once, so the first 30 or so episodes of the anime are happening sorta around the same time.

It's cool you guys are watching this I already seen it. But Yu Yu Hakusho is my no. 1 anime. You guys owe it to yourselves to watch the anime its only 112 eps long. If you upload reations to it its cool but please on your spare time check out a few eps, i think youll like. Keep up your awesome content.
Nah I would recommend for them to just stick on the live action.

@@GunneraManicata bad takes for 100? YYH is an amazing anime and well worth the experience. It's also one of the few DUB>SUB anime, so wouldn't even have to go with a different language.
Its a well paced anime, has a LOT of heart, but still manages to have a fight nearly every episode. It's also got the best tournament arc in all anime by an extremely wide margin. 2nd place would be a 6/10 if the dark tournament was a 10/10, even if 2nd place is still amazing.
Watch the dub of the anime when you guys can. It's my favorite after One Piece as that currently is

This is a perfect example of how a mediocre writer takes a hold of legends work and makes a disappointing remake (watch the first episode of the anime and I rest my case)
Idk it’s more of just an abridged version of it converted to better fit live action. What I’m not going to do is act like this is worse than dragon ball evolution,the last air bender, or death note. Those were pure trash this is just ok.
I think it was what like 6 episodes in we got to this point? 6 episodes is crazy low for this whole thing. I hope they just tried the Spirit Detective saga rather than dark tournament too

The only thing disappointing here is it's too short. You expect a whole arc to be translated into live action without shortening it? Lol
