@@DeathKitta I think 2012 Mikey had brain cells but like in the same way my lil sibling has brain cells, they’re genuinely pretty clever and when they put in the work they’re REALLY good, but getting them to do what they need to is next to impossible when they’re not in the mood, when there’s smth else they wanna do more, when they don’t have the energy, or even if everything should be allowing them to focus on the thing they sometimes just can’t do it. (Such is the curse of adhd.)
If I remember right Leo was imagined to be what he would become without the burden of responsibility. You can see how said burden made Raph more mature it's such an interesting idea for tmnt.

Even though Raph is the leader, they show throughout the series that Leo would actually be a perfect leader for them. He’s very intuitive and connects with the idea of him being a champion for his brothers. Head strong and confident instead of just being serious leader guy. My favorite version of Leo ever! 💖💙💖

The first movie was what made their traits their main personas so people just keep leaning into it. In this show it's back to them all being goofballs but still retaining their individual quirks.

But 2012's Leo was way too burdened with plot and drama that I did not care for him most of the time. Nor Donnie's crush on April. In fact, Raph became my second favourite in that show, and he's usually the one I don't care for.

I usually dislike Leo in other versions of TMNT, so Rise being able to make me like him is something I was not expecting. Finally, a Leo who acts like a teen and not like a "I must master every single ninja thing in the world and make my sensei proud". Character development ftw!

@@tobsonasanya4765 Well... I don't like 2012's Leo. The rest I tend to not care much, except maybe 1987's version. But 2012's Leo was way too burdened with plot and drama that I did not care for him most of the time. Nor Donnie's crush on April. In fact, Raph became my second favourite in that show, and he's usually the one I don't care for.
@@yiirann_314 Hehe. I haven't watched the second season yet, but I just hope they don't burden him too much with plot and drama (which is what usually destroys his character for me), and allow him to continue being a character and not just a plot point.

While Donnie is my favorite, Leo is a VERY close second! Learning Ben Schwartz is the voice actor is what got me to watch this show in the first place. I happen to be a huge Sonic fan (especially the new movies), so I decided to see more of Ben's work. Now, I watch this show almost all the time, and I frickin LOVE Leo's entire character in this series! Absolutely hysterical!
