WAY TOO EASY for this 74 yr old. Hard to fail when the the correct answer is painfully obvious. - "What significant political event began in 1950 in Korea, lasting until 1953?" Good thing she didn't do a quiz about foods ... "Some people like to put this Blue fruit in their cereal?" A) Apple B) Blueberry C) Orange Oh darn! Could have sworn the answer was Banana - well I'm stumped! ROFL
A quite easy quiz really but as often with these ,they are fairly USA biased. There is no need to read out the questions either, we can read lol I am 87 and these fall well within my range
#70 is a bit confusing. Chamberlain declared war on Germany in Sep 1939 and was prime minister for the first 8 months of the war. He was replaced by Churchill in May 1940 who then made that statement. So it wasn’t exactly at the start.
The first months of the war were the-war-that-wasn't-a war; nothing much visibly happened until about April/May 1940. Perhaps that was what the quiz means by "at the start"? A number of the questions are weird anyway, like the repeated ones in slightly different format, and those that have the answers within the questions!!
@ good point, but I always figured the start of a war was when it was declared. And, it certainly was for Poland, since they were invaded. I suppose it’s just matter of perspective, though.
It's TRUE that Jimi Hendrix wrote "Purple Haze". The word is pronounced 'day-TAUNT' rather than 'day-TENTE. I am a 71 year old Jamaican, and I found the quiz to be neither easy nor challenging, but comfortable.
Lots of people thought Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds was referring to LSD. I don't know if the Beatles were spoofing badly hidden secret messages there or not.
I got only 6 wrong. The questions were way too repetitive. For example, you asked 3 questions about Harper Lee and To Kill a Mockingbird. BTW, Lee was white. Her main character was not the black man falsely accused, but his white lawyer's young daughter, Scout.
Harper was not African American and none of the three authors died in 1947. Kipling was born in India, I believe but not Indian. 99 was my score. Purple haze was written in 1966, released in 1967.
I never keep scores, just enjoy the quizzes. What most people fail to understand, the beauty of trying them gets the grey cells working and reduces the likelihood of various brain diseases.
The beatles were around before the classifications of rock and pop, it was either popular music or classical. Since they were influenced by 50s rock and roll and 60s R&B they could meet either criteria.😊
Thank you for this post. I’m so tired of people going on and on about the Beatles being “the best rock band”. They are truly a “pop” band with tons of silly songs!
Too many repeated questions or already answered previously in this quiz. APOLLO, Margaret Thatcher plus many others. Won't be doing any more of these quizzes.
Well done 😊 we do it like flash quizzes, you see the question, answer before the timer runs out and then the answer is flashed. We keep score and then post it in the comments. In other words you did it exactly right 😁🎉 hope you had loads of fun
Sort of demeaning, some questions were so simple minded that I was waiting for What year was the war of 1812? Some were incorrect, Harper Lee was white, Churchill was not PM at the beginning of WWII, George Orwell was a British citizen only and he died in 1950. The Numerous repeat questions were not enjoyable. Maybe cut back on the number of questions and do more research.
Little known fact, the War of 1812 was fought in 1932, lasted 12 days and was over a brothel built at 1812 Lexington Ave, Concord NJ. I know because me grandpa fought in it! He was Captain of the 13th Brigade.
@@wz0hjd No, the War of 1812 went from 1812 to 1815. We declared war on Great Britain, the WH was burned and Washington,DC sacked by the British. The only war fought in 1832 was US against Black Hawk, 2 tribes against the US army. No brothels involved in either engagement.
No. Prince wrote and sang Purple Rain. He was a Minnesotan and a Vikings fan. That's where that song came from. Hendrix wrote and sang Purple Haze, finding the phrase in one of his favorite science fiction stories.

You would have to be born in the 1930’s to remember events from the 1940’s - so today you would be in your ‘90’s = very small demographic for your Quiz!
Rubbish....I am in my 60's and only missed 2 answers? I know more about the 20's, 30's and 40's than I do about this century? my interest lies there, my movie preference lie there? You are so wrong in your statement.
It isnt based on when you were born, but on your knowledge of those years. ! 20 something would not know many of these while a 60 something will. Excluding exceptions of course.
Harper Lee was white from Alabama not Afro American. She Won a Nobel.
Thank you for your hilarious pronunciations. Score 90. True.
We do our best John :)
Along with hilarious pronunciations, it’s hilarious how some of the answers are in the questions. Like the band that sparked Beatlemania..lol
Honestly, this quiz is too easy; and I’m 81!!
Agreed. I’m 72😉
I’m 66 and I agree
WAY TOO EASY for this 74 yr old. Hard to fail when the the correct answer is painfully obvious. - "What significant political event began in 1950 in Korea, lasting until 1953?"

I was thinking the same thing.
The answer is in the question. For example, what war happened on Yum Kippor?
A quite easy quiz really but as often with these ,they are fairly USA biased. There is no need to read out the questions either, we can read lol I am 87 and these fall well within my range
If someone can't see, but listen to it, it would have to be read. Not everyone can watch.

Thank you for participating 🙂 and thanks for telling us
Lots of butchering of foreign names and words. :(
Many of the answers are apparent from the manner in which the question is formed.
And some are just insulting. What group started Beatlemania? DUH!
I think they asked the same question 3 times. At least they were worded a bit differently.
But I did enjoy the brain exercise. At 66 yrs old, I need all the help I can get.
True. I got 8 wrong. It was enjoyable. Thank you
You give us the dates in the questions which correspond with the answers!
Number 65 None of them died in 1947, and Rudyard Kipling was the only British-Indian novelist.
Then I got 96!
Right. Orwell had to have lived until 1949 when he submitted his manuscript of 1984 for publication.
89/100. Born 1950. Lucy in the sky with diamonds was released in 1967, not 1965.
And it was Yellow Submarine that was written in 1965 and started the drug controversy.
True and 95.
Well done 😁
Betty Friedan
Yeah not Friedman!
Thank you it’s keeps my brain working!
Jimi Hendrix - true
It was Yellow Submarine that was written in 1965 and started the drug controversy.

It’s Betty FRIEDAN, not Friedman.
And it was pronounced: FreeDAN.

Good work as always!
Well, in my estimation, I scored somewhere over 110!
I got only 6 wrong. The questions were way too repetitive. For example, you asked 3 questions about Harper Lee and To Kill a Mockingbird. BTW, Lee was white. Her main character was not the black man falsely accused, but his white lawyer's young daughter, Scout.
Harper Lee was not African-American
Yeah, I caught that too. Some of these were border line as well.
Lots of inaccuracies, the Beatles did not form in 1960 for example
My score was 73. True

33/50 correct.Thank u for the quiz.Very challenging I enjoyed it.

Not poss8ble because some of them are not correct.

A bit obvious with quite a few answers clearly set out in the clues.

A lot of repetitive questions.

They were definitely a rock band. They had the requisite guitars, keyboard, and drums.
You repeated some of the questilns and some were not to accuurate..
Several questions came up more than once, so not really 100
