    This bodes poorly for my *checks notes* health and fitness, blogging, and nutrition sites. *gulp* - Maybe I should just start a dating site to go for the trifecta.

    My niches are health, recreation and tourism. The good thing is I’m in the disability space so I think that isn’t saturated.

      Absolutely, I think the disability angle is still a really good example of that niche within a niche.

      That sounds like a great and unique niche, if you don’t mind me asking what kind of places are intreated in that kind of content?

    Do these apply to the freelance copywriting niches as well or more specifically blogging/starting a business from scratch?

    • @LocationRebel
      @LocationRebel  2 роки тому +1

      This was more generally related to blogging/niche sites. That said, unless you're a really strong copywriter, you may find it challenging to break into these niches there as well. The good news, however, is that there is so much demand in these industries that there should be a lot of opportunities for work.

    So you CAN stick to the big competitive industries as long as you go niche-within-a-niche.

      If you niche down far enough you can make anything work. But still depending on what you choose, it could make your life more difficult if you don't have a content marketing background. I think the most important thing is going in with realistic expectations based on the niche you decide to get involved in.

    I think if you are a unique person and have a unique perspective, then that’s your niche. Generic health and fitness is over saturated (and it was in 2011 in my view), but how to be healthy at age 50 isn’t. Or whatever your unique perspective is. Your niche is your unique perspective.

    I’ve been considering personal finance. Simply because I still see gaps. So many seem to regurgitate conventional wisdom or whatever the hot thing is.

    Great insight as always, Sean! I've got a few ideas I'm kicking around to start in 2022 and none of them fall into one of these niches. I hope you enjoyed those last few hours in Cabo. It looks gorgeous there! Hoping to see more travel from you in 2022, and to get back to traveling a bit myself.

    There is competition against one's flaws but if one really has a passion and is drawn naturally to these 3 niches then do it, your passion for it will get you there and you will make money. Its like telling somebody who naturally likes science to study accounting because thee is a lot of money involved, he is likely not to excel.

      I think travel can still work if you get hyper specific. It's very challenging to have success with a generic travel blog right now. But if you have a VERY specific focus, then I think you can still get traction early on.
      For instance just focusing on the top 5% of of golf courses in the world, proved very successful for me.
      Just focusing on say, street food in Thailand, or family resorts in Hawaii - that type of thing. If you become the expert on a very narrow vertical within travel, I think you can have quick success and the ability to expand out.

    Thanks for the info! So we're basically combining niches. So maybe technology is over saturated, but medical technology in nursing homes could be an easier target.
    Side note, how do they maintain the linen for that bed? Does someone come out and change the sheets everytime they see someone get up? haha.
    Thanks for another great video kind sir!
    Greg

    • @LocationRebel
      @LocationRebel  2 роки тому +3

      Yeah I think that is a really good way to look at it. And what's great is once you own, say "medical technology in nursing homes" it gets easier to expand out into more broad technology related items.
      Whereas if you start super broad, you likely won't get enough traction to keep the momentum going. So I always think its better to start small and become a key player in a really small niche within a niche, because then you can expand out and use that momentum, brand awareness, and knowledge to go after more difficult to rank for topics.
      And I assume they do! I got lucky and I didnt get kicked out until after I'd finished my previous video and did the intro for this one. Apparently the cabanas are not part of the "all inclusive" title ha.

    Sean, I need help! #1: How can I make a blog post with pics and content and sell it/move it to another website. I have a client who wants me to do this with my content. Do you have any videos on this?
