Hey Scotty what’s your thoughts on a 2006 Scion tC with 150k miles for $2500?
Hey Scotty what’s your thoughts on a 2006 Scion tC with 150k miles for $2500?
Yes, Scotty make new video of Document about Car. This is best for me, "cheng cheng, noice"
Your voice trying to sound professional is kinda weird
Scotty torques sense
Who else loves these informative videos scotty give us? Such a legend. I wish i can learn that easily in college classes.
Scotty is a smart guy, intelligence it's not only what you know but your ability to communicate it to others in a easy and clear way, he does that fantastically well.
Why would they teach you all of that in a short video? No money to be made. Your college is a business like anything else
I do. I want him to do the Transmission
@scooter Dave becoming?
@Mario S. So did I. I became a professionally licensed Mechanical Engineer.
The difference between torque and horsepower...... is time. Torque is an element in calculating horsepower, so there really is no "HP vs Torque". Torque is raw force. When raw force meets time, it produces work. HP= torque x RPM / 5252. HP is torque flowing through time causing rotation. Can't separate torque from HP.
When it comes to real world application concerning cars and motorcycles, the real issue is usually power band and gear ratio. Trying to understand HP vs Torque is impossible, except within a persons mind(thinking outside of time). In the outside world, we live in time. Time is the real difference.
Yep... torque is only an element of HP. While torque is important, in the end it’s about HP.
HP is work performed over a given time period. Truck diesel engines develop a lot of torque at low RPM which results in a lot of HP to get a heavy load moved. Yet, on steep inclines, they cannot maintain the speed of a car because they don't develop enough HP since the top RPM of the engine is limited. Cars can't pull a heavy load because they don't develop enough torque at low RPM which equates to HP. But they can travel up a steep incline because they develop a lot of HP at high RPM. Just supplying a comment.
Imagine if James Watt used cows instead.
_"My car has 200 cowpower"_
200 CP,
Cowabunga
How about Oxenpower; they are a little bit slower than horses, but roughly three times stronger than horses, and less likely to catch dysentery.
My coworkers call me siete vacas which means 7 cows cuz I'm strong and eat a ton. So the measure me in cow power XD
😐😅😅
What surprised me most was how calm Scotty said “ring that bell” hope everything is okay keep up the good work!
Probably the most knowledge I've gained in the entire 2020
It's criminal that I get this quality content for free.
@stoic cool story bro

I’ve been looking for this explanation for a little while.
Even though Scotty is speaking calmly, I can still hear him screaming in my head. Great content in between 👍
These are the videos I subbed for, so well made and explained. Love these man.
I love Mr Scotty Kilmer. He is so so smart up there. Lots of love from Zambia our beloved car Doctor.
I always thought of it as Torque is how hard the engine can push the piston down, and horsepower is how fast it can do it.
I agree. Diesels can't spin fast but push very hard. Cars and motorcycles spin very fast, but can't push hard. Your choice is dependent up the application you want to satisy.
I really like these "Scotty Lessons"!
This one is one of the best so far, both in clarity and accuracy. Good job Scotty!
I was studying Masters and one of our electronics professors had asked one question, no one could answer and neither he did explained. Today after 14years I got that answer in Scotty's presentation video.
Kind thanks Scotty ☺
That’s actually pretty ironic because it can be thought of in terms of Voltage and Current
@@GreenAppelPie although he was a electronics professor, he had asked question about Mechanical engineering. Ultimately everything is Physics when it comes to explanation.
What was the question?
Tom Hart I would like to know as well
GreenAppelPie also pressure versus Volume
Awesome... I was always a bit confused about the relationship between torque and horsepower... This makes it much clearer.
Stunning video Scotty. Everything is so balanced and it is obvious you put a lot of hard work into this one! !
Genuinely love the effort you took to make this
Scotty is a genius - not only knowledgeable but also a great teacher
That was the best explanation I’ve seen so far! I like the new content!
Hey Scott, been watching you for years man and I love your videos as well as the explanations. This was a great video to get a better understanding between the two. Thank you!
Wow, this video is so great!! I love these videos to Scotty!!!!! Awesome job. Voice over was confident, easy to understand, funny, and flowed great!
Professor Scotty! I really enjoy the educational content you're producing. It's a nice change to hear you in calm, relaxed tones after hearing several of your more energetic videos. (I enjoy those, too!)
The best explanation about torque and horsepower ever. Go Scotty!
Hey, this was so clarifying! It can even be applied to my bicycle gearing! Thanks for the video!
love the production quality scotty 👌 great video
Scotty, these animations are great. I've long understood these facts, but the explanation and demonstrations via animations were great. I'll use these vids to explain this in the future. Well done. Thank you for your content.
Excellent video explaining Horse Power and Torque!!
Fantastic as always, Scotty!
Scotty, this is the best video on UA-cam explaining the subject of torque vs hp.
Love the new videos!! Keep it up. Gonna show these to my kids.
Very informative video thanks, Scotty.
Another excellent video Scotty, the way you explain things is awesome, easy to understand. Thanks. Love the channel.

Scotty is a terrific teacher!
Awesome production Scotty
Clear as water Scotty....thanks!
Excellent video Scotty!
Very well done presentation Scotty! Invaluable!!!
Great presentation, Scotty. Love your channel.
This video really helped me understand the difference between torque and horsepower. Thanks Scotty!
Not to be pedantic, but it would be helpful to think of it as a relationship, rather than a difference.
Great work Scotty!
You will be missed... Vídeos like this will be watched for decades... Brilliant.
Thanx for the explanation Scotty 👍🏾
Great explanation. Have had several people try to explain this and couldn't.
Love these videos Scotty! Thank - You. God bless you and yours, and everyone on your channel!
Another very simplified version, is to realize torque is a force, horsepower is not. It is torque that sets the sizes, strengths, and mounting of all drive train components, gearing, shafting, tire size, etc. It is torque (force) moves (accelerates) the car from Newtons first law F=ma. Unfortunately, one must pay to play, and the cost of employing torque (force) is providing sufficient power to maintain the torque over time and distance. That is the horsepower. The more horsepower, the more torque can be sustained. The power comes from burning fuel ($$). More horsepower, faster fuel consumption. Torque is what we want, horsepower the price we pay. Keep up the good work Scotty!
Thanks for the easy to understand explanation.
This was actually a very well put together and informative video.
Wow wow , such a great explanation,. Best Scotty. As always
Excellent episode
Good night Scotty! Another great video. Thanks 🙏
Thanks, Scotty! Great refresher.
Very much clear-more interesting than any documentary channel video.
Love these videos. Keep em coming!!

Absolutly brilliant video, hi from the uk! Great watch and very informative. 👍
Did Scott just apply a new video production template, because I really like it, it is straight to the point and very informative! Keep it up dude 👊
Excellent video!
Amazing. Keep 'em coming Scotty!
The best explanation ever heard
Scotty is teaching me what my engineering professor couldn't. 😍❤️
Definitely one of my favorite videos, I don't say this lightly, it's awesome.
Tanx , really helped me as I am new to this field
Always great videos
Seriously. You should have a show, like once a week, with 3-5 segments. So educational, thanks again Scottie!
Right down my alley! Ty Scotty. Love it
Im a mechanical engineer/industrial engineer and specialized in automotive, fuel cell, and manufacturing. All I see is yawning and eyes wide open when I try explaining these things, I'm glad that you made this video Scotty I can hook people to watch this video rather than explaining myself
And even more challenging for you would be to explain torque and horsepower of electric motors, counter-electromotive force, etc. Good luck!
Scotty is upping his presentation/ explanation game
Well explained, thank you
This was epic. Thank you Sir
what a great video!! thanks so much
Very instructive video!thanks! 👍
Great video, love it.
Such a legend..very well explained Sir Scotty.. Good job..😮
Scotty you have got a voice that is perfect for narration on videos like these. I loved it. Sort of reminded me of Linus saying; That's what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown. I will certainly check out more of these videos Scotty. Not because I don't know the stuff, but because you nail these narrated type of illustrated videos. Good job man. Later. Jpol.
Super charged content, love it.
This was a very interesting but educational video.
Great video Scotty 💪🏽
