My dear wife is a high school teacher. A few of her students thought she was to strict with assignments.... Turning them in on time............ She loves it when her students see her years later and still remember her. Some chase her down in the stores to give her a hug.........
Strict -- not as rude, aggressive, or abusive -- but strict as in keeping their student 'in line' & accountable. I can relate. I had a very strict 8th grade English teacher who was on us all the time and asked us every day about our projects and it wasn't until after I graduated that I started seeing signs of her mindset in my bosses and it really showed when I enlisted in the military and it was an exact mirror image of her with wanting projects (or in the military's case, reports) turned in by a certain time. I found her on FB in 2014 by pure chance and thanked her for hounding me like she did. Stunned, she said she not only remembered me, but said she thought her method of teaching made her a bad teacher to most kids. And I admitted it did WHEN IT HAPPENED. But I told her that my first bosses and later Supervisors, Superiors and Commanders in the military acted JUST like that and she WAY more accurately got people ready for the real work environment than she realized. I summarized it to her and said "she gave me a fighting chance in the real world (by essentially touching on how it would be) and I wanted to simply say Thank You." 😊
I had a teacher in 12th grade that recognized that I was dyslexic, and that the education system was not equipped to help me. He also recognized that I had a talent for dealing with things well when I was left to my own devices. So even though I did not have the grades to graduate, he let me pass anyway. He said, “I don’t think holding you back will do you one bit of good. I think you will do better when you have control of your own life He was right. Within a week of graduation I had a full time job, and I have NEVER been unemployed since (40 years). Within a month I was living on my own, and have taken care of myself ever since. 2 successful careers and 25 years of wonderful marriage because he had faith enough in me to let me go.

My class advisor back in 2nd year high school treated me like her own son. She shared her lunch with me and even the very first person to congratulate me during my high school graduation. After 12 years I've visited her at school and she's still the same talkative woman that I first met. I handed her cash and she just looked at me with teary eyes because she was so proud of me for my achievements in life and on that day she was supposed to borrow money from someone for her medications. I love this so much. My 5th Grade math teacher was an influential person in my life... We even share a birthday. Through her I learnt for the first time, what determination and self-worth felt like. She left the country for a while, and I never thought I was ever going to see her again. When she was away, every year, on our birthday, I would always write to her. There was never a year I missed. But after a while, she stopped writing back. In 9th grade she came back to teach us. I wish the story was as beautiful as this one. But she was never the same. Perhaps it was the time spent away, or the fact that I saw her through the eyes of a 15 year old, but the connection I once had with her wasn't there anymore.. It still breaks my heart till today. I loved her like family. I wish I was able to do something like this for her. She changed my whole world. I left that school the same year, and started homeschooling and I haven't spoken to her since. She's married and she now has a baby boy. I wish I was there to tell her how much she meant to me.
It may not ever be the same, but simply telling her, in a letter or anyway you can, how much she meant to you at one stage of your life, is something worth doing. If nothing else, taking the trouble to say “thank you” is important, even if it doesn’t turn into a beautiful story. Your statement about seeing through the eyes of a 15 year old is wise. It shows that you realize that you had changed as well. Best wishes.
I cried watching this. I remembered my 2-4 grade teacher. every time I go to my home country I always visit her and I show her pictures of my family and she shows me picture of her grandchildren. I was very sick my first year in school so I was behind my twin sister and everyone else in my class. Then, I moved to a new city and she help me get back with everyone else. She told me that I may never be as smart as the other kids but if I work hard I could get whatever I wanted to be. This year im graduating in a whole new country, with a different language but that didn't stop me from graduating with a 3.8 gap.
That was heartwarming, ultra-considerate and very thankful on the part of the former student. What a great way to say thanks for the encouragement and memories.

When you are the student, you truly never understand until later the impact a teacher can have on you. Sometimes we realize these things too late. So happy, this student was able to find and thank her teacher. But I'm not crying!!!!!!
I became friends with my fourth grade teacher when I was an adult. She was there for me when I suffered so much tragic loss that year. I will always, always remember her and am so grateful for her love and kindness.
this made me cry so badly. my 4th,5th,6th grade teacher who motivated me and made school so much fun, was originally from the US, she came to my country to teach us, she left with a broken heart, and now she lives halfway across the world from me. i will one day go and knock on her door and hug her so tightly. i love this. 💜💜💜💜

My son surprised me by writing a thank you letter to his high school teacher from 20 years before. She was so happy and surprised that he would do something like that. She said it made her day.
This reminds me of my 3rd grade assistant teacher. The teacher I had was prejudice. But the assistant was the opposite she is what made me love all people and treat everyone the same. Mrs. Haskins I Love You!!!
What a wonderful gesture for your teacher! You could tell by the look on her face that she felt the love from her heart for your kindness. Bless you for remembering your teacher in a way that will always remind her she did good at her job.
Marvellous feedback after all those years. I recall a student of mine in China brighterning up after some positive feedback from me; Her words: 'Rob you really like us don't you!'
I appreciate her reaching out.. Why you say? Did the same to my 3rd grade teacher Mrs Martin.. tough old gal..😊 When I was in my mid 40s.. Now at 71 glad I did .. she conveyed her appreciation with tears..(she never showed emotion in school..) She gave me some guidance, back then, that helped me in my journey.. Last line says it all.. Enjoy life way too short.. In country Vietnam vet (To you snarky dogs...feel bad for your ignorance)
This is one of the good stories to pay it forward. If I could have had a teacher like that male or female I might have completed High School and gone a lot further with my education. I did not tell here I am. Congratulations to both of you
My Mom was a high school teacher. She maintained a lifelong friendship with a number of her students. One student in particular, who graduated high school in 1961, was taken in by my Mom and lived with us for a few months after her mother died and she was getting herself together. Mom passed away a few years ago. This student, now a woman in her 70's, still maintains contact with me.
It's an important relation for many, that between a student and a teacher. Next week my mother, who is 85, will congratulate her teacher on his 100th birthday. She had him as a teacher between the ages 11-13. He's still in pretty good shape and they have had contact most of her life.
Alisha Zuberi: Thanks for asking. I just think it would make a sweet, Hallmark type of movie. To keep in contact with someone for over seven decades is rather amazing - that a teacher and student have kept in touch is extra amazing. Of course, in the movie they'd probably have the two get married eventually. BTW, I like the name Alisha :-)
My 4th grade teacher was a sister to me and it’s hard that I won’t get to see her anymore. I always look back at my yearbook and cry because I miss her so much. She was always there for me and now that I’m going to middle school, I won’t have her on my side anymore. 😭😭😭
I am 38 and have a four kids myself grades 8-graduation. I still talk occasionally to my fourth grade and first grade teachers I had growing up. I was going through a very difficult situation at home and those teachers loved me and looked after me and I will never forget them. I remind them often of what a gift they were to me.
4 of my teacher live in the same pavillon buidling my parents live in lol! my philosophy teacher taught my son two years ago .I was in the very first class he taught so he is not old. the others are well in their 75-80s . my role models are right here. im luckey
I absolutely Love it, watching this was a good experience for me. Some people just didn't grow up in a Loving Environment, so they turn out hard and unhappy, no matter what.
Matthew Molina in my opinion. heartless people that don't realize with all the bad things on the news these days, we need the good stories too, a reminder there are still good people out there. And a reminder that even if you do something small, it can mean the world to someone and make a big impact. With that said, everyone's aloud their opinion. I don't get the disliking either, but that's their opinion.
Edward White wait, so how good a teacher is or was when you went to school depends on who they vote for? Interesting I always thought how good a teacher was depended on how she or he treated their students, what they did for them, how much they cared about them. People's logic this day is unbelievable.

That brought tears to my eyes, the world needs way more of these things.
God bless you both! Jim
PS....thanks for sharing.......
A+ for that! Just beautiful! God bless them both!
Peace, Lynne 🍃💜🍃
Very emotional.
Heart-softening.
What a wonderful gesture for your teacher! You could tell by the look on her face that she felt the love from her heart for your kindness. Bless you for remembering your teacher in a way that will always remind her she did good at her job.
Very nice. I think of all the teachers who had a role in school. So many come to mind
To all teachers out there! Your work is the most important! All teachers deserve to be paid better.
Been trying to find so many of my teachers for years 😫❤ so I watch videos like this to make me feel better
Marvellous feedback after all those years. I recall a student of mine in China brighterning up after some positive feedback from me; Her words: 'Rob you really like us don't you!'
I appreciate her reaching out..
Why you say?
Did the same to my 3rd grade teacher Mrs Martin.. tough old gal..😊
When I was in my mid 40s..
Now at 71 glad I did .. she conveyed her appreciation with tears..(she never showed emotion in school..)
She gave me some guidance, back then, that helped me in my journey..
Last line says it all..
Enjoy life way too short..

A great teacher can make a huge impact on a young persons life.
how lucky if all of us had a teacher like that at some point
This is one of the good stories to pay it forward. If I could have had a teacher like that male or female I might have completed High School and gone a lot further with my education. I did not tell here I am. Congratulations to both of you
Wow ! And a Happy Birthday to the both of you .
Your mom must have been a very kind lady 🙌🏻✝️😊
This was soooo sweet and thoughtful.
Teachers are very special people.
That was a great story! Thank you for sharing!
I see two winners in life. ❤️
This is the way to make the world a better place!
My 7th grade teacher changed my life. He’s probably passed on by now but I still think of him from time to time.
Mrs. Norton, my 4th-grade teacher, was my all-time best teacher. I miss her.
It's an important relation for many, that between a student and a teacher. Next week my mother, who is 85, will congratulate her teacher on his 100th birthday. She had him as a teacher between the ages 11-13. He's still in pretty good shape and they have had contact most of her life.
Wow, now that's a movie script. How did it go?
Bill Wilson lmao
Alisha Zuberi: I posted nothing funny.
Bill Wilson why did you say "wow, now that's a movie script"?
Alisha Zuberi: Thanks for asking. I just think it would make a sweet, Hallmark type of movie. To keep in contact with someone for over seven decades is rather amazing - that a teacher and student have kept in touch is extra amazing.
Of course, in the movie they'd probably have the two get married eventually.
BTW, I like the name Alisha :-)
What a beautiful moment for a teacher and student... ♡♡♡
Yes 💙 And a beautiful moment for humanity, remembering those who helped you and paying it forward 🙏
What a beautiful compliment.
God Bless you, Cindy. For remembering your Teacher.
Good teacher always a get a good reward from lovable students
This was soo lovely and the reaction was heart touching, while watching this my eyes were filled with happy tears 🥺❤️, loved it
So beautiful and well deserved!
My 4th grade teacher was a sister to me and it’s hard that I won’t get to see her anymore. I always look back at my yearbook and cry because I miss her so much. She was always there for me and now that I’m going to middle school, I won’t have her on my side anymore. 😭😭😭
Woooow, It just takes One teacher sent from Heaven. What a beautiful inspiring story.
this video shows that u don't have to try to change others lives.. just being a good human being does it anyways...
I am 38 and have a four kids myself grades 8-graduation. I still talk occasionally to my fourth grade and first grade teachers I had growing up. I was going through a very difficult situation at home and those teachers loved me and looked after me and I will never forget them. I remind them often of what a gift they were to me.
4 of my teacher live in the same pavillon buidling my parents live in lol! my philosophy teacher taught my son two years ago .I was in the very first class he taught so he is not old. the others are well in their 75-80s . my role models are right here. im luckey
I had a few teachers like that, hopefully everyone has.
Wow! Who would dislike this?
it is stupid that what was supposed to be "normal" in old days, became something extraordinary and newsworthy these days ...
I don't get the disliking either, but that's their opinion.
lots of us who know teachers better. the old hag was a Hillary and Obama supporter.
Edward White wait, so how good a teacher is or was when you went to school depends on who they vote for? Interesting I always thought how good a teacher was depended on how she or he treated their students, what they did for them, how much they cared about them. People's logic this day is unbelievable.
Such a sweet lady to tell her teacher what she meant, still means to her.
40 years later !
Wow , I wonder how many of my teachers are still with us 🤔
