D-lab electronics Heathkit DX-60 Ham band Tube transmitter K2 PTT module installation procedure

It all started with the K1 basic push to talk module. The Heathkit DX-60 was the target. Then requests came in for more switching options. I have developed the K2 to fill those needs. This module has 2 relays featuring additional contacts to control things such as lamps, keying amplifiers, etc. I have actually sold this module for years, but just getting around to posting a How to video. The DX-60 was Heathkits all time coolest Ham transmitter. The only thing that could make it better would be a built in VFO. There are many still on the air. My goal is to have a D-lab PTT module in all of them!

Nice mods/upgrades. I wonder if you can install a red/green LED inside the meter and then place a strip of aluminum tape on the inside of the front cover to reflect the light back up to the faceplate. If you feed both red and green, you'll get yellow for a backlight and by cutting the green LED it will illuminate red on TX. 73 OM

I did my DX 60 the same way easy peasy! Best PTT modual out there!

Which wire is pin 8 on the function switch? You mention a yellow wire but there are 2 yellow wires side by side on mine and you demonstration doesn't show this clearly!
