- A nifty universal filter capacitor assembly from Scott at Sledseats.com. I have used them in many tube amp + Ham radio restorations. Quite the cost save over buying the can type filter caps. A very clean installation. These days were all looking for a deal. You can contact Scott thru his website or find these kits on ebay. Mention d-lab electronics for a discount. We gotta keep these old tube rigs alive!
Thanks! Terry
Been using Adapt-a-Cap mounts for the same reason but it's nice to see Scot's stuff at his fleabay store. Priced right for
the application needed and kits too! Thanks for sharing and showing Terry.
caps or capacitors make up your mind. Brand doesn't matter.
Cheers Terry!
Liked the video. Thanks for the tip!
Cool Thanks for the Info!
Question: Can I use orange or blue drops instead of the can caps?
Is the rust on the laminations of that trans a problem? how to correct? I see ll on the epcos cap .is that the series?at what point do you use resistors across each cap for voltage equalization?I'm just at point of building a b plus supply over 500v so will be series some caps for 700 to1100v.
Terry I ordered a 4:1 600v max can cap board from scotty. It came with a can cap insulator. Is the insulator necessary or an accessory when mounting the pc board can cap adapter to the chassis?
Are you referring to the spacer board? There is a round disc spacer that will have matching icons for the board. That is there to clear the solder turret to the body of the capacitor, as it will stickup about 1mm above the board on the "cap side". Should show in the included instruction sheet. If I sent you the football insulator (cant remember on your order), that is for going between the main cap board and chassis. That is only needed for the isolated can common. IE for negative bias, or voltage doubler circuits (amplifier Power supplies) the common of the can does NOT get attached to ground for negative bias, and also on one half of the voltage doubler. IE Heathkit HP-23 and Drake AC-3/4 supplies, Fisher 400/500/800 series, etc
Hope that helps. Feel free to contact me if you need anything and thanks again for your orders!
@@scottysledshed thanks for the heads up Scotty.
Wow that is one ham fisted repair IMO
Is there a brand name glue that can be used for a power tube that makes a terrible noise if amp is bumped 👹🎤🙏
Yea! Super-Heterodyne Glue! Ha!
@@dr.krinkleweldon5934 could not find it , only found a Heterodyne receiver ,, are you sure it's named that 👹🎤🙏
