This was excellent! Steve Russell did amazing things for R&B! I love when Mario mentioned him in the Verzuz battle. Gots Ta Be is such an amazing song. The lyrics was so good. I still listen to it like it just came out. I'm happy he told his story.
The way “I Will Always Love You” touches me at the core of my soul!!!!!! Man!! That “Shabba Dada Da-Da” is one of THEE best adlib’s of all time. Core memories with these songs!!!!
Mr Russell, Thank you so much for your lesson on the Ego. I'm not afraid to admit that I have been operating in a state of depression throughout my entire adult life. Your words & delivery of your message touched my heart & opened up my mind & soul. I now understand that I truly have the capability of manifesting all that God has instilled within me. Thank you again, and thank you to Tank & J Valentine for creating this platform that helped me to get back to Me. Love You Guys & May God Continue To Bless You In ALL Of Your Future Endeavors.
Man this has been hands down one of the best episodes. They just keep getting better. I was really hoping you guys will have Steve on. I grew up listening to troop. Definitely was a huge fan of The underdogs. I never knew how he became a part of The underdogs early on so this was an amazing connection. I have a demo that Steve deal with one of my friends from Iowa. I listen to it all the time. Such an incredible writer and now I see where that comes from
Mr. Russell took us to Church. He speaks about mental toughness, sticktoitiveness and what a man thinketh in his heart, so he is. This was one of the most insightful conversations on R&B podcast. Loved it!!! Th
When he talked about being locked in the studio with Harv, freezing FINALLY made me understand WHY Diddy made Da Band walk to Brooklyn. He is from that school. Very good story!!!!
When Steve apologized to Tank, the tears fell for me. I sincerely hope Steve writes a book about Ego and honoring the God in yourself. It's so clear Tank and Jay have always been good people. Whew, all these gems dropped!
Love Love Love Troop! Their dancing was 🔥🔥🔥. I will never forget when they danced on the rooftop. Amazing choreography. They literally killed those dance steps.
There are 2 dance routines i can still do at the age of 47 by memory. New Edition's "If It Isn't Love" and Troop's "Spread My Wings". Troop were them dudes, point blank period.

Yooooooooo who doesn’t Tank know?😂. Omg between troop and the newtrons ( and yes I remember seeing y’all on the soul train) these groups were my childhood 6th grade -12th. To this day I still play troop. I can only find songs by the newtrons on UA-cam.
Now I play these songs for my sons. Even they as 17/18 yr old young men say the lyrical quality back then isn’t the same as today.
Maaaaaan 😢 I thank each of you for all the greatness you contributed and continue to do. The music means so much to your fans. Got me through some thangs 🙏
Steve is a DEEP & WISE Soul!!!❤
This was excellent! Steve Russell did amazing things for R&B! I love when Mario mentioned him in the Verzuz battle. Gots Ta Be is such an amazing song. The lyrics was so good. I still listen to it like it just came out. I'm happy he told his story.
love you Kara thank you
The way “I Will Always Love You” touches me at the core of my soul!!!!!!
Steven Russell did the thang for this interview. He said a lot of gems that I benefited from. That EGO talk was the exact thing I needed to hear.
Such an incredible writer and now I see where that comes from
So ready for these gems Lil Steve is about to drop! Whole legend out here!!
I love that Truth talk! Feelings get the blessings (good or bad). Word to Rev. Ike!
Troop one of the underrated Great groups of all time I Cannot Wait For The Interview Shout Out Steve Russell💯👍 #RnB #Money #Podcast
THIS MAN IS PREACHING!!!!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MESSAGE ON THE LAWS THAT GOVERN THIS UNIVERSE!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yes J Valentine Spread my Wings is perfect...it's still in rotation on my playlist!!!
Mr. Russell took us to Church. He speaks about mental toughness, sticktoitiveness and what a man thinketh in his heart, so he is. This was one of the most insightful conversations on R&B podcast. Loved it!!!
Th
Joy!!! Always happy to see Steve still humble as he was since Jackson Elementary. So proud, my friend, so proud
Love you!
Keep rising and creating. So excited
Listened to their second album w All I Do until the tape broke. Banger after banger! Thank you for the beautiful music Steven!
All Love
When he talked about being locked in the studio with Harv, freezing FINALLY made me understand WHY Diddy made Da Band walk to Brooklyn. He is from that school. Very good story!!!!
When Steve apologized to Tank, the tears fell for me. I sincerely hope Steve writes a book about Ego and honoring the God in yourself. It's so clear Tank and Jay have always been good people. Whew, all these gems dropped!
thnk you
Love Love Love Troop! Their dancing was 🔥🔥🔥. I will never forget when they danced on the rooftop. Amazing choreography. They literally killed those dance steps.
Good to see Troop is out here being active. One of my favorite groups. Salute to Rnb money
Thank you
Gots 2 be still rides! Steven Russell is a genius! The underdogs were a problem some of my favorite songs were written by them! 🔥🔥
There are 2 dance routines i can still do at the age of 47 by memory. New Edition's "If It Isn't Love" and Troop's "Spread My Wings". Troop were them dudes, point blank period.
