4k Beautiful Porto Moniz, Madeira, Portugal, What's it like? With it's famous volcanic rock pools, it's an ideal place to swim in the sea, even when the surrounding water is rough. it's an exhilarating place to visit on the North West tip of Madeira island.
Porto Moniz is normally included in the popular West Tour of Madeira. There's not.many buses that service it from Funchal, so the other option is a car hire.

Yes we thought so too BIAF, the rockpools were wonderfully warm, even in late October. We preferred them to the lido at the other end of town as they were just so busy. Thanks for dropping by and all the best to you.

thanks for this. this is exciting. half opf my family is from Madeira. I haven't been for years but I am going to visit in the new year. I really liked Porto Moniz when I was there. Also Monte and Camacha (though some may find Camacha boring).

@@LivingWalks I'm back in Kilkenny now! Your offer is very tempting, thank you, but unfortunately flights go from semi-weekly to weekly from the beginning of 2024 due to Ryanair pulling flights due to a 17% increase in airport fares from 2024 implemented by operator ANA.
The airline has already closed its base at Azores Airport and warned earlier this year that the increased fees could lead to the closure of the Madeira base as well.
I'm hoping to be back early May for the flower festival.
