Prélude for piano, Book I, L. 125 (117), No. 12 Minstrels. Modéré [1907-10]
Claude Debussy, Piano Roll, 1913.
This is certainly very different from most other recordings of this piece.
I was just going to say.
It’s amazing to see how scarcely he uses the pedals.

veeeery weird and fun !
This doesn't sound like I played it when I was in college.
It is rather amazing to hear Debussy play his own 🎶 music.
Thanks for uploading this!!!

This amazing recording is very , very old, that's why possibly it might sound a little faster than the real tempo was. Otherwise, the interpretation of the Genius composer gives us the right feel for the piece. It sounds so playful, a little mischievous...I love this recording. Many pianists play it much heavier.
On the score, it’s written “Nerveux et avec humour” which means nervous and with humor. I think this recording perfectly depicts this kind of feeling
It's also a piano roll so it doesn't have the same speed/tempo issues that records would have
It's very jazzy.
Hilarious!
