And to think the BNSF West Chicago Branch (former CB&Q River Branch) used to come in right behind the camera operator until they clipped it back 2 blocks and removed the switch. Also did you notice that a CN employee comes out and watches the diamonds when a CN comes through.
I've always loved the sounds of trains going on diamonds and wyes, and seeing two major lines meet each other! In El Paso, TX, I love filming the Tower 47 Wye; where a major interlocking tower once stood (that the UP named the wye after), where the Carrizozo Subdivision of the Tucumcari Line meets the Valentine Subdivision of the Sunset Route.
Excellent video! Thanks Green Frog! I enjoyed this very much! I was surprised to hear the junction is controlled by CN. The trains rattling thru are sweet music to my ears too. I wonder if the person in the house closest to the diamonds realizes what a gem is outside their windows.? Thanks again.
Man I love those diamonds !. There is a place in marion ohio 30 minutes away from our house called the Marion ohio union station depot and it has 2 sets of quad diamonds, well 4 diamonds in a square shape lol. Csx diamonds and Ns diamonds are in marion. Me and my dad usually see 5 trains sometimes 7 8 and 9 trains. The NS diamonds in marion were put in 2010 and sound brand new ! :D

The West Chicago diamond is the same as the CSX-NS diamond in North Charleston SC.
