I'm in the hospital as my daughter has been admitted here at UC Davis. Your videos keep my mind off the stress and worry. Keep em coming Lyle

Any given switch is more likely to fail when used for DC than for AC because DC, direct current will create more of a spark or momentary arc than alternating current, which tends to break the arc as the voltage crosses over to zero 60 times a second. Switches have to be built to be heavier duty for reliable use on DC.

Hmmmmm! This was an interesting video. These issues can be a real buzz kill.

DC will create and perpetuate an arc much easier than AC will because AC is crossing zero 60x a second and goes positive/negative while DC never crosses zero and it's always + or - from any common or non common ground. That having been said DC really tears up the contacts on switches. Technically it burns the contacts.

The amp does not belong to me. So that would be bad.

Why wire a pentode as a triode in the first place... yes, power reduction, I get it. But if it sounds bad and its a failing point... mehhh
