1:05:30 ma'am, the distance of the image is given that is the reason why the question in the last line asks for the object distance from the mirror, if 5m were the object distance the question would have made no sense.

exactly😭, the question clearly asked to find the object distance. how can object distance already be given. the distance of screen hence image is given so correct answer should be f=(-1.44)m and u= (-2)m
The answer explained by mam was wrong..
bcoz the question said that the image formed "on a screen which is 5 m away" that means this is the image distance..
