Is your drench rod a vantablack one? And if it is do you have any of the frostbite twilight rods? I just wonder about the difference in quality. I want the vantablack but damn its 2 times the price
Yes my drench is a vantablack. the difference between the two is: Vantablack rods have titanium recoil guides and are much lighter than twilight. I like both series of rods! it just depends what you want
This cold front is making ice, but not a chance I'd get out and camp or fish. It's been 40 to 55 below wind-chill here in Wisconsin.

Want to get into ice camping. Do you have any experience with a otter hub? Do you recommend otter or Eskimo? Why?
I recommend the Eskimo products because I have had my stuff for about 2 years now and I beat the hell outta my stuff, but they always seem to be fine!
If its a mister heater they always fill up with oil from either the propane or the off brand hoses. Takes a long time to tear apart and clean the low curve right below the pilot light. I have had to do it enough times that I finally ordered the Mr heater filters for all three of mine. If emergency you can sometimes flip heater over and heat the curve with a torch or your best lighter. You should get enough oil out so pilot lights again but use caution as the oil dripping out could be burning, So dont burn expensive bibs or any other gear. Fingers heal.

If it is below 10 degrees I would suggest bringing 2 heaters!
