It’s kind of weird that some representation was giving but at the same time some gets children with single father could relate to Draculaura because she only had one dad and no mom, now they take away Draculaura’s accent which could mean she’s no longer from Transylvania, she now has two parents meaning she loses that relatability, and she gets magic? And for some reason that’s bad? I hope they explain more since it somewhat feels like they started pulling out everything to make all characters have conflict (also just remembered that Draculaura is canonically adopted, which could mean they got rid of that too)

Just because she's shown interest in men this generation doesn't mean her attraction to other genders doesn't exist. Like bisexuality exists, tf? And the Clawdeen x Deuce pairing hasn't been officiated yet, it's only been hinted at in the movie. It seems they're just going for a platonic friendship at the moment, as the movie ended with them not being a couple.

I’m not entirely pleased with everything going on in the reboot but I am extremely happy with all the diversity seriously this is so cool having all these characters represent different cultures sexualities genders and backgrounds it’s honestly better than what the original series did and I’m really happy for the kids Who are growing up with this version can’t wait to see what they come up next
Yea! For a show that was all about being yourself and embracing your flaws it makes me happy I feel like it works also let’s not forget body diversity! The dolls have such more realistic bodies now and Frankie’s prosthetic leg is such a cool touch

And the term "labels" refers to the gender binary; as in reinforced gender roles and expectations. The labels being referred to in that lyric are obviously things like "woman/female/she her pronouns/vagina is your gender". Those are labels- the labels Frankie was obviously talking about. The boxes society wants to put them into. Also, not sure how it's giving "I don't have pronouns" when Frankie literally mentioned the pronouns that they use a couple words back. If you're going to make an argument, don't fall into contradiction.
My friend who works at Target and stocks the aisles (including toy aisles) says he hasn't found the reel drama dolls anywhere in his store. Hasn't heard of any other stores having them yet either. It is a little upsetting
I got my hands on a ghoulia on Wednesday! (The 21st) but was unable to buy her because the target system said that they release the 1st of October. Found Cleo and lagoona (and ghoulia) in boxes and Clawdeen on the shelf! No reel dramas however though…so idk what’s up with that.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't find Real Drama in stores, I thought I was going nuts. I checked *six* stores and found nothing. Mattel is saying Target/Walmart/Amazon on Instagram but there's nothing listed on their websites. I did find one Draculaura for sale on Walmart for like, $119. I'm not that desperate.
I went to pick up the real drama dolls but Target and Macy's Toys r Us section had none anywhere.😭 I can't wait for your video of them when you get them 😜
The big issue i have with ghulia is she just-doesnt look like a zombie If they didnt say who she is and slap brain imagery on her outfit she’d just look like a regular teen girl with green skin :/ It seems so odd they’d take out her sluch when their wanting to do more body diversity-her sluch made her so unique and apper zombie like She and clawdeen are my least fave redesigns honestly-they did a far better job on frankie and draclaura Tho i have seen fans depict ghulia as having cruches-since shes a corpse, i think that would be a better idea then her skating, fit with the theme of “accept others” mh has Edit: can everyone stop implying g1 monster high barly had diversity? I’m honestly tired of people claiming that the original Monster High had no diversity. Too many people are ignoring the fact that the show mentioned adoption, tackled topics surrounding disabilities, and offered a wide range of characters from all around the globe. I esp loved the different accents from the original series, it really made everyone unique and embraced different backgrounds in a positive way. I feel like nowadays people just think inclusivity is a synonym for the lgbt community. There’s so much more that could’ve been kept here that would’ve contributed to the diversifying the cast and yet it was removed??
Idk, you guys can think what you want but I actually really like Clawdeen's song. Drac's is kind of at the bottom of my list honestly, I'm not a huge fan of her song or voice and I think Clawdeen's voice is cool. I'm younger than most people would think and I have a pretty deep voice, so it makes me happy to see that Clawdeen’s case is the same but backwards. Though I can agree that the lighting in her video is the weirdest 😭. I also really like Frankie's song and their voice. Really cool! Edit: I coulda worded this better, I'm not a fan of the genre of music that Drac's song falls under. I'm sure the song's fine but I just don’t like that genre 🤷
Honestly, the only problem i have is Draculaura being half Romanian half Taiwanese. She was the only Eastern European character that wasn't portrayed as an evil-angry-alcoholic-war criminal. Because every time we either no-accent, no- connected to our culture folks who just have a weird last name or we are spawn of Satan himself, no in between. In the trailer for the show, i saw that she has no accent, so her description "storyline will dive deeper into her heritage" makes me think that they will follow the pattern of not focusing on her Romanian side but only Taiwanese. I'm so happy for them getting their representation in media, but sad that we lost our. Also, i feel like they are down playing Taiwanese culture by not creating any new character that is based on their folklore (sounds a lot like they made her Taiwanese only for the sake of looking woke rather than being diverse)
Also I am praying they dive into Romanian culture more as well. both taiwanese and romanians don't have good representation, so this is a chance worth taking
3:47 this imagine made me realize why Frankie is blue. This is just speculation but it seems like they want to give each main character their own recognizable color, and since Duce is green they made Frankie blue to better differentiate between them

With all the new rep hilariously enough the one demographic that isn't represented among the ghouls is white cis american. Deuce is not a ghoul hence why I'm not refering to him. I think it'd be funny if there was one character who fit that demographic but was super weird personality wise. Like the one who fits the base american "norm" being the weirdest of the bunch would be the funniest thing they could do.
i mean they did that in the original series with jackson in their own way. monster high isn't just about diversity, it's about acceptance. shifting the odd one out doesn't fit with the theme, it's just a lazy punchline. it also reinforces the idea that those identities are inherently separated. Frankie would be disappointed.
I love how Frankie is non-binary, but the advertisement for the live action movie, I'm mixed on one token I find it nice how they want people to know that Frankie is trans, on the same token I can't help but feel they put that in the trailer because just want more people to look at the movie, like Disney advertising Aladdin for having Robin Williams in it so they could make more money, but hey maybe that's not the case and they just wanted to explicitly tell everyone that Frankie is non binary.
I wish they just made a new Generation of students that go to monster high with the traits and designs instead of changing everything about the current dolls. It kinda makes me feel like the old dolls and characters are non existent now.
Tbh, mad about Drac. She was the adopted daughter of Dracular, with that she reoresented alot of children with only 1 parent and alot of adopted children! They errased that! I really don’t like ghoulia’s redesign, also her artwork literally has different shoes!!?😭 Why can't the artist just draw the outfits accurately. So far my least favorite redesigns are clawdeen and ghoulia, though I wish toralei had her short hair because they literally all have long hair, except for duece ofc. If we are being more diverse we can make dolls with short hair too.

There are people who don't use pronouns, and people who use neopronouns. So yes, not all people use pronouns or have labels. And the term "labels" refers to the gender binary; as in reinforced gender roles and expectations. The labels being referred to in that lyric are obviously things like "woman/female/she her pronouns/vagina is your gender". Those are labels- the labels Frankie was obviously talking about. The boxes society wants to put them into.
Also, not sure how it's giving "I don't have pronouns" when Frankie literally mentioned the pronouns that they use a couple words back. If you're going to make an argument, don't fall into contradiction.
My friend who works at Target and stocks the aisles (including toy aisles) says he hasn't found the reel drama dolls anywhere in his store. Hasn't heard of any other stores having them yet either. It is a little upsetting
I got my hands on a ghoulia on Wednesday! (The 21st) but was unable to buy her because the target system said that they release the 1st of October. Found Cleo and lagoona (and ghoulia) in boxes and Clawdeen on the shelf! No reel dramas however though…so idk what’s up with that.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't find Real Drama in stores, I thought I was going nuts. I checked *six* stores and found nothing. Mattel is saying Target/Walmart/Amazon on Instagram but there's nothing listed on their websites. I did find one Draculaura for sale on Walmart for like, $119. I'm not that desperate.

I’m honestly tired of people claiming that the original Monster High had no diversity. Too many people are ignoring the fact that the show mentioned adoption, tackled topics surrounding disabilities, and offered a wide range of characters from all around the globe. I esp loved the different accents from the original series, it really made everyone unique and embraced different backgrounds in a positive way. I feel like nowadays people just think inclusivity is a synonym for the lgbt community. There’s so much more that could’ve been kept here that would’ve contributed to the diversifying the cast and yet it was removed??

Idk, you guys can think what you want but I actually really like Clawdeen's song. Drac's is kind of at the bottom of my list honestly, I'm not a huge fan of her song or voice and I think Clawdeen's voice is cool. I'm younger than most people would think and I have a pretty deep voice, so it makes me happy to see that Clawdeen’s case is the same but backwards. Though I can agree that the lighting in her video is the weirdest 😭. I also really like Frankie's song and their voice. Really cool!

Honestly, the only problem i have is Draculaura being half Romanian half Taiwanese. She was the only Eastern European character that wasn't portrayed as an evil-angry-alcoholic-war criminal. Because every time we either no-accent, no- connected to our culture folks who just have a weird last name or we are spawn of Satan himself, no in between. In the trailer for the show, i saw that she has no accent, so her description "storyline will dive deeper into her heritage" makes me think that they will follow the pattern of not focusing on her Romanian side but only Taiwanese. I'm so happy for them getting their representation in media, but sad that we lost our. Also, i feel like they are down playing Taiwanese culture by not creating any new character that is based on their folklore (sounds a lot like they made her Taiwanese only for the sake of looking woke rather than being diverse)

With all the new rep hilariously enough the one demographic that isn't represented among the ghouls is white cis american. Deuce is not a ghoul hence why I'm not refering to him. I think it'd be funny if there was one character who fit that demographic but was super weird personality wise. Like the one who fits the base american "norm" being the weirdest of the bunch would be the funniest thing they could do.
i mean they did that in the original series with jackson in their own way. monster high isn't just about diversity, it's about acceptance. shifting the odd one out doesn't fit with the theme, it's just a lazy punchline. it also reinforces the idea that those identities are inherently separated.

I love how Frankie is non-binary, but the advertisement for the live action movie, I'm mixed on one token I find it nice how they want people to know that Frankie is trans, on the same token I can't help but feel they put that in the trailer because just want more people to look at the movie, like Disney advertising Aladdin for having Robin Williams in it so they could make more money, but hey maybe that's not the case and they just wanted to explicitly tell everyone that Frankie is non binary.
I wish they just made a new Generation of students that go to monster high with the traits and designs instead of changing everything about the current dolls. It kinda makes me feel like the old dolls and characters are non existent now.

I really don’t like ghoulia’s redesign, also her artwork literally has different shoes!!?😭 Why can't the artist just draw the outfits accurately. So far my least favorite redesigns are clawdeen and ghoulia, though I wish toralei had her short hair because they literally all have long hair, except for duece ofc. If we are being more diverse we can make dolls with short hair too.
