My colleague and friend of many years, Marc Teicholz, dedicated a good part of his time to learning many of my pieces for solo guitar. I can say that he understands like few others what to do with my music. Here is a great example. In this fantasy piece dedicated to Phyllis Bolton, I have written 7 musical moments corresponding to the syllables of the name Phyllis. Phyliis was very fond of American music in general and I only had to choose 7 styles of American music that could account for this affinity. Basically it is a piece that is held by a musical motif that is also based on the syllables of the name Phyllis. This motif appears in all the small episodes that make up the piece. Marc moves from episode to episode with grace, elegance and dexterity. It is a great pleasure for me to have Marc as interpreter of this work.
