Nice trip! I was thinking of going out on a jigging only trip on the east coast, didn't realize OO had them. I have a 12hr jigging only at Hubbard's in October.
That's awesome. Will you be uploading a video? I keep hearing about Hubbard's and it's at the top of my list right now for long range trips. I fish out of Port/Cape Canaveral mostly because it's only 30 mins, but I'll be venturing out further for other boats.
@@theanglercrew7059 I'm still working on my editing skills, but I will almost definitely have some video. I live in Sanford right now, but the regulations are better in the Gulf during the summer. I went out on my 1st 39hr on the 22nd of July and my boy and I limited out on snapper ( including Red) and had a keeper Red Grouper. Went back out on the 9th for a last ARS trip and my buddy caught numerous monster ARS. I learned a lesson about hydrating and eating before leaving the dock and spent half the trip lying down. What was the cost of your trip and how long was it?
Not to mention there's been talk of a potential closure of bottom fishing for Florida Atlantic waters, so I've spent the last year checking out the Gulf party boat options.
@@berrylamberg7186 This particular trip was free (After I won the pool), but without it, I would have paid $270 ticket + $70 tip (For galley and deckhands) = $340 total. It was a 12 hour trip, but we fished between 4-5 hours since we go over 3 hours to get to the fishing grounds. Man I hope that bottom fishing on the Atlantic coast doesn’t close!
Thank you. I try not to list the gear I’m using because I don’t want to give a false impression that I’m either bragging or rich, ‘cause I’m neither lol. I learned to buy once and cry once. I am using: Light/Med combo: Temple Reef Innovate 2.0 8’0” (100 - 400g) + Shimano Ocea Jigger 2k (NRHG) Heavy combo: Temple Reef Innovate 2.0 7’8” (250 - 650g) + Shimano Ocea Jigger 4k Spinning combo (Not recommended; I’m still trying to find a good spinning combo for jigging): Phenix Black Diamond East Coast ESW-S708MH + Shimano Stella 6k. Out of all those, if I were to choose one, it would be the Light/Med conventional combo. Tight lines!
@@theanglercrew7059 yeah, that is stupid, the lawn should allow you to keep if the fish was bitten and is gonna die anyways, and even those fish that people don’t properly release and they float, I hate when I see that… but great catch man, you pay a couple trips with that money lol You should try Double Eagle at Clearwater, they have some 12hrs fishing trip targeting red grouper now, I went last Friday and caught a bunch but none keeper, I think if I had switch to jigging I could had caught a keeper, but the trip was awesome, caught some nice size white grunt, vermillion, lane snapper and Aj but they are not in season unfortunately
Nice ARS …good job, congrats. Jigging is a lot of work, but I definitely catch larger fish on jigs than bait. I try and stay vertical with the fish straight up and down as much as possible.
Thank you. Yup, I learned that I need to downsize my line from 40/50 lb to 30 lb main line. When we went deeper 300+ft, I had a hard time reaching and feeling for the bottom due to line bowing. Tight lines!
Beautiful sunrise!! I love starting the day like that. Nice ARS, way to go winning the pot. Can’t complain at all. Great video
That ARS was almost as big as the one you caught when we went out lol

Looks like a great trip! Would you mind sharing the combos that you were using ?

@@theanglercrew7059 thank you. I like the buy once cry once style as well!
this is really special
I hope it grows
What they did to the red you caught?
I didn’t pay attention, but they released it I believe. It’s unfortunate… I was only excited because it won the pool, lol. Tight lines!

Good video. What was the name of the jig that you was using?
Thank you! It’s Mustad Moon riser jig. One of my go-to jigs, but I think any of the similar style jigs worked on this trip. Tight lines!
Nice ! I’ve seen the jigging only trips they do but haven’t tried it. Might be next on the list 🎣

I've been wondering how that trip went, I'm glad you post a video. Now I'm hype for my hubbard trip next week
Lol, that’s exactly what every Korean mom would say!
