I just saw the movie and I cannot understand the negative reviews. This was the best I have seen in a long while. The cinematography was beautiful, the acting was great, the lack of music during dialog was especially refreshing, the camera angles were great, the closeups of characters with appropriate expressions were right on. There were wonderful landscapes that I could not figure if real or CGI. I read the book many years ago but recalled the scenes as they appeared. I will certainly buy when on BlueRay.
Adoro Kenneth Branagh e vorrei rivedere un film di circa 30 anni fa in cui impersonava la parte di un investigatore che alla fine salva la vita a. Emma Thompson
It's great to see that the interviewer did his research well and asked the right questions and allowed Kenneth the ability to explain his answer without interruption. It's very rare to see a good interview these days and it was amazing to hear about how difficult putting together scenes and directing a movie can be. Great job to both, I walked away learning something instead of just being "entertained".
They'll be 'hanged' actually. One of the great storytellers of all time. Can't wait to see this new version of Christie's classic story, even though I already know the outcome. I think what makes Christie great isn't so much her discussion of death, but her love of the puzzle; the master of the closed room mystery, and this is one of the best examples.
I am kinda ashamed that I did not know about the amazing body of work that Ken has done until he played Gilderoy Lockhart and later directed Thor! Although Thor was made as a blockbuster movie, Ken managed to create a complicated chemistry between Thor and Loki inspired by Shakespearean characters and along with Tom Hiddleston created one of the best villains of all times. I am looking forward to watching Murder on the Orient Express!
There have been many film and TV versions of this Agatha Christie book over many decades, but this film is the most unlike the book and characters in it so far. IMO it is hammy and has too many holes in the plot and research to mention. Even Ustinov's semi comic version was better than this, and far more entertaining too. David Suchet also plays Poirot infinitely better, and very close to Christie's character.
I'm watching murder on the Orient again and I'm tired of these people that keep redoing classics what the hell's wrong with them I got a version of murder on the Orient tou but Ziggy Stardust isn't going to do it
I used to be a big fan of Branagh, but I think he has become too full of himself, and seems to think that he can do whatever he wants, however he wants. His Poirot was total crap, and actually everything he has done these last years has been a disappointment for me.
I saw the movie and can't stop wondering is this a joke or something? Poirot as James Bond? Why do film based on Christie's novel if you feel that young audience need to see jumping, giggling character on the screen to buy a ticket
We definitely did not see the same movie, unless you expected this to be an action film. If you are not into psychological thrillers with no blood or gore, then this is not the movie for you.

Problem is dialogue. It felt kinda dumbed down from original from 1970's. I hope sequel actually has better dialogue.
He is an amazing actor and Director, I wish I could meet him at least once in my life

He is an amazing director! He makes me excited about movies.
Perfect guest. One question posed and he's away. Interviewer then optional. Ken, we love you. Looking forward to seeing this movie.

Worst movie tbh
I just saw the movie : shockingly boring! (despite the cast). Only amazing thing was the nature.
Is it true that the mustache was actually CGI? hehehe!

Daisy Ridley, Lucy Boynton, Michelle Pfeiffer. Three smoking hot chicks.
