Once you get used to crossing your eyes to look at these, it's hard to tell whether or not you're actually crosseyed because it feels so natural and relaxed.
Agreed! The only way I could tell I was cross-eyed while looking at the photos was by occasionally seeing the watermark in the lower right hand corner of the screen and seeing two of them when I knew there was only one.
I can see these in 2 ways. One when they "pop out", and one when they are negative image of that (parallel VS crosseyed basically; these were made with parallel in mind). Crosseyed (negative) is waay sharper for me and I can look around freely without losing the image. And it's also very easy and reliable, though the parallel is better overall.
🤔 Interesting... For some reason (I think is "distance"), I can only see them in "negative" on my TV hanging on the wall, with a very sharp effect, as being at the 3D cinema, and "normally" on my cellphone, as if the screen has depth vs "popping out" from the TV.
I wonder if this has to do with our eye shapes, astigmatism or simply because we see near things more often than far away thing, for me is hard to make them pop out but seeing the concave ones is easy.
@@Sun_Simpthat is actually interesting, it only took me a few minutes to get the “popping out” parallel one the first time i saw a stereogram, but i only learned about the crosseye method after reading this comment and it took me a while to get.

hey cool, I've never tried looking at these on a phone screen before. it's like an injection from the 90s! interestingly though around the 1:08 minute mark, there's a pink one and i lost that ability to defocus my gaze slightly in the way you have to do, and it just became a flat looking pattern again..i remember feeling so hopeful about the possibilities of life when these came out, so i feel like that has to be 1991 or something, when things like a book store in a department store in a mall still seemed quite fancy, and the perfume and makeup section (as a girl) compelling and glamorous. Just seems like suuuuuch a different world. Looking at these images is like when you smell a fragrance and it reminds you of a place and time. For me this os like Rundle Mall in Adelaide, Australia in the early 90s. And associated with things like the Body Shop sandalwood and fuzzy peach perfumes and those little boho/hippie stores that sell Indian style clothing and incense, jewellery and knick knacks. Massive hit of nostalgia. i feel lucky now that i got yo experience that and didn't grow up with smart phones, the internet and social media. Before they happened, things like this seemed positively cyberpunky, haha. And i remember being bright eyed about the idea of VR around this time, although admittedly this is partly because things could be very dull. But now it's an actual thing, I don't wanna know.. Technology just seems so dystopian now, all that brightly coloured 90s hopefulness evoked by these images seems to have died a terrible death. it's quite bittersweet to revisit edit: after all that waffle, and trying to regain the right eye focus, i remembered i don't actually know even like 20 years later how these actually produce that optical illusion.

Нету ничего шикарного по-моему. Т.к. это скопировано откуда-то, то качество картинки очень низкое стало. Да и вообще стереограммы какие-то абсурдные и непонятные.

I was actually able to see them all, I just couldn't tell exactly what I was looking at on some of them.
It's the first time i SAW a stereogram XD. I remember seeing them in a few boks, but never understandood how to see them. Now i just came from a cross-eye 3D video and now everything makes sense XD
I used this outside at night with my projector and screen at a BBQ and it was a hit. Plus others, about 2 hours worth. Some appear like you can walk into them.
Most of them work better if you go "wall-eyed" rather than "cross-eyed". I'd explain it more here, but there are videos that can do it better than I ever could.
Ive tried everything to make these work ive tried putting my face close to my phone and pulling away ive tried the 'look at something far away, and then move your phone infront of your face' method, I've tried crossing my eyes until the image lines up, and i can't do it, does anyone have any other advice they think could work
my main problem in seeing these stereograms is that they do not protrude out but rather look like layered hollows. I see the edges of these hollow shapes and may only guess the real features of the drawing objects. Why the cavities instead of raised objects? I may guess it's just the image analyzing feature of my brain. (here is playing "Scorpions" "i'm going mad" theme)
There is 2 ways of viewing these parallel view or cross eyed these are designed to be viewed with parallel view for the intended effect your viewing them using cross eye 3d method you get a 3d effect but it's not the Intended effect. You get what you call cavities instead of the raised 3d sculptures gotta learn to see them in parallel view to see these properly one weird quirk of cross viewing these is you can actually touch the 3d imagery and your finger wont hit the screen for quite a distance you can't do that in parallel view your finger hits the screen before you can touch the images so try the finger test to figure if your viewing these in parallel view or cross eye.
Method 1 focus behind target - place something behind monitor 30cm/feet and you can see it. Focus your eyes on it for few seconds and swing your eye focus to stereogram. If you don’t see depth in stereogram swing your eyes and focus behind monitor. Repeat it again and try stay focused behind monitor - 2 second behind monitor, 1 second on stereogram. Method 2 de-focus your eyes - Move your head very near to stereogram image, just few centimeters/inches. Your eyes can’t focus for this distance. Try stay focused to distance and slowly move your head back. In distance about 30 cm/11 inches you can start to see depth of stereogram. If you can't see it, probably you may see cross eye stereograms. This stereograms are for parallel view.
I just dont rly understand what im looking for, i have the abbility to unfocus my eyesight on command but it doesnt help me with anythinf here... "Update" i can actually see them, i just didnt realise it was about some sort of invisable looking images that layerd on top.
Put screen as close to you as possible, then zoom out without focusing on the picture as if you don’t even look on the screen, your eye should automatically catch 3d object.
Another method to see 3d picture. Use an iPad or tablet for better viewing. Hold iPad about 1 foot away. See your shadow/image through the iPad when the picture is on. Try to look at your nose for some time, which of course will not be visible, suddenly you will see the 3d image. Try, I am sure you will succeed.

You don't cross your eyes!
You do NOT cross your eyes. You look "through" the video and put your eyes parallel. The exact opposite of crossing.
Lol, you're not crossing your eyes you just trained your brain to images from each eye. We have two eyes so there are to images hope that makes sense
I can see these in 2 ways. One when they "pop out", and one when they are negative image of that (parallel VS crosseyed basically; these were made with parallel in mind). Hello there instructor
Are you available for a quick business chat regarding your udemy course
Guys I can never seem to understand stereograms? All i can see is static and I’ve tried everything

Put screen as close to you as possible, then zoom out without focusing on the picture as if you don’t even look on the screen, your eye should automatically catch 3d object.

Crosseye is really easy for me but it's hard to identify some images
It's individual. Half of the people can see both types. Mostly the parallel view is preferred.
