hey! to be honest, just play around a lot. The best way I've found to learn different chords in alternative tunings was to really pay attention to the notes that the open strings were tuned to and try to associate them to a specific key. For example, a tuning I used a lot on this project was D A D F# A E, so if I look into those six open strings I find that I'm actually playing a D major chord (with and extra E on top, a major ninth) so I could choose to use that as my root (i) chord. From there I could just change the three notes in the lower strings and play around with power chords while letting the upper strings ring out. You can get very interesting sonorities by doing this. I think it's important to state that alternate tunings are not always useful. They're more of a way to create a very specific texture I feel like, one that couldn't be reproduced in standard tuning. Maybe if you're playing a very simple chord progression, like a I to IV for example, something that could actually take advantage of the open strings. If you wanted to play a jazz standard or something like that however, I probably wouldn't recommend them lmao. So yeah, play around a lot and you'll find a lot of finger shapes that work really nicely. Here's a few that work really nicely in that beforementioned tuning: (reads from lowest to highest string) same shape moved around the neck in the key of D major D --------5--------8--------10-------12-------3 A --------5--------8--------10-------12-------3 A --------4--------7--------9---------11-------2 F# ------3--------6--------8---------10-------1 A --------0--------0--------0---------0---------0 E --------0--------0--------0---------0---------0 same shaped moved around the neck in the key of A major D --------x--------x---------x---------x A --------2--------4---------7---------9 A --------4--------6---------9---------11 F# ------3--------5---------8---------10 A --------0--------0---------0---------0 E --------0--------0---------0---------0 same shape moved around the neck in the key of A major D --------7--------4--------9--- A --------7--------4--------9--- A --------7--------4--------9--- F# ------5--------2--------7--- A --------0--------0--------0--- E --------0--------0--------0---

jajaj me encanta la cantidad de gente de Argentina que está llegando y se sorprende cuand se entera. Que bueno que te gustó! seguramente en estas semanas saque unos shorts tipo mini tutoriales explicando como tocar algunos de los riffs
it's pretty random really!! just find a capo fret placement that allows you to play an open I or IV chord and you're pretty much set. You could play any open string and let them ring while playing some sort of riff on the fifth or fourth string and You're pretty much done.
I tried copying your Amplitube settings (from the snips in this video) and it sounds nothing like it. Are you able to do a more detailed look on how you get your tones?
what guitar are you using? also, try putting some slight reverb and delay before your amp. You could also try a subtle compressor pedal before everything. Try this and tell me if you're still too far off. Also, when you say it sounds nothing like it, do you mean like the video or like the album? because the album guitars are mixed and have been processed with compressors, EQ and saturation as I stated in the mixing part of this video. Hope this helps!
@@saddyowner Thanks for the reply man! I'm talking about your guitar tone specifically at 9:18. That is also where I've copied your amp settings/petal settings from the brief screenshots you show. It sounds very different, it doesn't have that clean, deep tone that you've achieved. My guitar is a Ibanez RG5121. The tones that you use in your 'guitar thingies' section, are those mixed, or are those just from Amplitube? Thanks again.
@@izefreezeno problem at all! the guitars on that section of the video are straight out of Amplitube. Make sure your levels are dialed in correctly, like you should see some headroom on the input meter of the plugin in order to not drive the amps too much and keep them sounding clean. Same thing with the output! dial the "volume" know on the amps down to not distort on the way out, you can always get the volume you lost back later. Something I could suggest is to use the neck pickup on your guitar and try to set the amp (Princeton type preferibly) with a very high bass level. Like, dial it up to 8-9 and try to bring some of the sheen back up by setting the treble to 7-9 as well. Make sure that in the cab section of the plugin your mics are facing the middle of the speaker and that they're the closest they can get to the cone! this way you take the most advantage to the emulated proximity effect the plugin offers giving you a better low end response. I would also suggest adding some post processing after the plugin, like maybe adding a few dB with an analog EQ at 800hz and 8k to boost the presence and the string attack pluckiness. Sorry this was longer than I had planned! hope this helps man! let me know. cheers ♥️
the moment you said midwest emo is like post rock with whiny vocals on top i smashed that like button because sooooo truuueee (i say this as a fan of both)

Sorry this was longer than I had planned! hope this helps man! let me know. cheers ♥️
