- The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets played the defending champion Georgia Bulldogs tough, but fell just short, 31-23. Yellow Jackets QB Haynes King threw for 158 yards and rushed for 2 touchdowns in the game. Eric Singleton Jr. was the leading receiver for Tech with 96 receiving yards on 4 receptions.
There’s no reason why Georgia Tech shouldn’t be competing for a conference title spot in the ACC. They literally play in Georgia, one of the most talent rich states. If they can recruit better they’ll be a real threat in the ACC and could absolutely make the playoffs going forward.
There academic standards are too high for most also most big time players want to play at Georgia or another top school not Georgia tech. They are still a decent team though. Probably just needs better coaching and more consistency.

@@thomasuga5708 UGA and GT have roughly the same academic standards in 2023 - 4.0 GPA and 32 ACT define their incoming classes.
Also, please explain how Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, UNC, UVA, Duke, Stanford, Cal, and several other universities with higher academic standards than GT have competed with much greater success.
@@fitzwilliamdarcy5263 well to be fair I think most really good teams basically buy all their talent. Georgia tech doesn’t spend money on football like some of the teams on the list. Also they are pretty evenly matched up with a lot of the teams u listed. Michigan being the only school that’s raised it’s football standards to that of teams like Georgia and Alabama. I think Michigan has more money to put towards football. players will get better recognition at other top schools if they are good enough to get accepted. If they do get accepted they’d rather go where they know they have a chance to play for something big. The players that are extremely intelligent and skilled at football are most likely aiming for the nfl. What’s your best chance at nfl? Playing at a top school with extremely high competitiveness and football recognition. They get good players yes just not as many as top teams. I def have to say they looked really good against Georgia compared to years past. But they will never regularly compete at that level.

UGA fans thought They were gonna be able to rest Beck and and put their 2nd string QB's in and that didn't work out as they planned. I know we lost but it's nice We forced them to keep their players on their feet.
Look at the roster again. There were several key guys rested for Georgia. Having said that, Tech played well against the Dawgs. This rivalry reminds me of Ravens and Steelers smash mouth football.
We sat our top 4 players on offense, we were simply trying to get the W and get out. As for the defense, GT simply schemed a great plan with motion. They knew UGA was much bigger so they used their aggressiveness against us. Brent Key is respected by Kirby for a reason! See you next season.

With 3:46 to go in the game and down by 8 points the Tech coach opted for an on sides kickoff. It was a huge mistake, he should have kicked deep and tried to force UGA to punt from their deep in their own territory. ACC Digital didn't even show the play.
UGA ran the clock out regardless, so if anything, it proved the onside kick was the right call.

Suppose they kicked it deep. I think UGA would have kept running the ball and wound the clock down to almost zero. An onside kick would have given Tech a chance to score again. Hard decision.

GT is not really that good. What #1 team wouldn't Run the ball @ 9:03 in the 4th. That's not football. When you have the lead, you Run the ball and score, to keep time running. Why would you pass the ball at the 5 yd line? The obvious choice is a Run against a weaker GT Defense.
This game was rigged, so UGA wouldn't cover the Point spread. Prove me wrong.

Anybody who watches football, knows if you can win on the ground, you do it. It wears down defense, and runs the clock. UGA HC deliberately does the opposite, and gives up the easiest 80 yd drive of the WHOLE game.

The fan experience at techs hyudai (lol) field is terrible. You would think the nerds would have engineered something better than that dump. The terry guy is awful and so was the band and whatever the cheerleaders kept trying to do during the breaks. They have no tradition, other than losing. The fans don't show up and the ones that do are a bunch of beta, woke, nerds. College football is done better in every other stadium/campus I have ever been to. Joke by coke is correct.
