Welcome to the We Don’t Believe You Podcast Series where our mission is to dispel and reverse the false negative narratives and stereotypes that have been perpetuated about Black People in America for centuries. We do this by HIGHLIGHTING POSTIVE Black images of individuals who chose not to believe those false negative narratives but who chose instead to SUCCEED in spite of them.
Meet Lakee “Chef La” Upshaw born and raised in East New York section of Brooklyn NY. He is a father, a husband, a role model, a community advocate, a source of motivation and inspiration. He is a trained chef, an entrepreneur, a caterer, a culinary artiste and owner of Chef La’s Fish Fry in Smyrna GA.
This Brother’s career in culinary arts started with him washing dishes in a chain restaurant all the way up to him now owning his own restaurant. His story and his message is MOTIVATION and INSPIRATION for those at the dishwashing phase with their eyes on something bigger and a cautionary tale for those that think they just gon jump the line without putting in the work.
