Raw and Smackdown were hyperfixations at that time, I had lost my grandfather in 2005mto lung cancer, then Eddie passed 2 months later and Chris 2 years later. Was an incredibly dark period, but absolutely some of the fondest wrestling memories I have. I also got the chance to meet and hug Umaga after a house show in Little Rock, Arkansas. At meet and greets he would still sneer and not break kayfabe, but would sign and hug kids mid sneer. Good times!!
2007 was also the final full year that WWE programming was TV-14 as the following July, all WWE programming went PG, mainly as a hasty reaction to the Shawn Michaels-Chris Jericho match at the Bash PPV where Shawn Michaels did too much blading.

For All The Bad With The Benoit Murders/ Steroid Trials,2007 has to be one of my absolute favorite years in WWE,granted it may be nostalgic goggles but I had taken a gigantic hiatus from wrestling,my father passed in February 2007 due to a drunk Driver,I was 12 and it was my cousin giving me a bunch of PS2 games(to make me feel better I guess) and two of those games were Smackdown Vs. Raw 2006 & 2007 it was those games that got me interested in wrestling again (which was when I was a 5 year old) and which lead to me watching The Smackdown After WM 23 then The Raw that next week and the rest is history,I was hooked. So 2007 WWE is so fun to me and nostalgic,Cena/Lashley at Great American Bash.MVP,Jeff Hardy & Mr.Kennedys & RKOs Rise,Edge cashing in money in the bank on Taker after this cage Match with Batista(also tTaker/Batista's LMS at Backlash,Cryme Tyme,Shawn Michaels & Chris Jericho & JBL's Epic Return's. UMAGA just being fucking insanely AWSOME, & Raws 30th anniversary. For me 2007 was,is and will always be one of my favorite years despite those glaring issues
Yk generally speaking even though there were plenty of issues outside the ring, in the ring most of the stuff was pretty great. Probably one of the top 3 if not the best year in the careers of The undertaker, John cena ,batista, Randy orton , Edge and Jeff hardy. Last full year before WWE went PG so there's that as well.

Gets clouded with all the mitb matches and the Shawn and razor matches, but for what 20-25 min, it's the best imo! I watch it occasionally now, and everytime I do, I see something new that stands out, like that spot you mentioned! Still soooo good.

Good list. 2007 pissed me off to the point that I stopped watching for quite a while. RKO essentially getting rewarded for being a total asshat didn’t help. He also managed to avoid getting suspended when the wellness policy started, even though he was one of the Big Ten. And they laid the fake Vince death stuff on so thick that they didn’t even mention that Sensational Sherry died for real the week before the Benoit thing.
