    *Where I live, I can't get British brown sauce, so I make my own! You can't eat comfort meat and veg without it!

    These recipes are so doable and you make everything so clear John. I have trouble sleeping and please take this as a complement but your soothing calm voice sends me off into a lovely sleep....I always have to go back to the recipe the following day lol x

    I sometimes put only a quarter of the listed green onions and put in a good handful of fresh chopped chives.

    This is great. I inherited my late mum’s food processor. It’s about 40 years old and is indestructible. I didn’t realise I could make pastry in it. That’s another brilliant tip from Mr Kirkwood. These quiche are on my list for dinner this week. Thank you once again.

    I made two variations: ham with onions, tomatoes, and cheese; and mushrooms with spinach. Used smoked Gouda in both. We’ve been living on quiche for the past two days. Delicious! Thanks for showing us how.😊

    Turned out fantastic! I even mistakenly placed all of the cheese in the Loraine, then had to grate 2 additional ounces for the Salmon/ broccoli and they both turned out fine. Thanks John.

    Again John, an outstanding work. I learn something new on every one of your videos. They are not only educational but entertaining. Not dry at all. Just a note, this past weekend I took your sourdough bread to a family reunion held at the out door shelter and fellowship area of the church that I grew up in at Friendship Baptist Church, Friendship, Virginia. There was none left to take back home. All my cousins ate it up or took a slice home with them. That is a high complement with those females since it is stiff competition with what is brought to church socials, homecomings, and family reunions.

    Just cooked the Lorraine. Came out delicious. Wonderful pastry. And the filling was really nice. Far better than any shop bought. I've never cooked one before because all recipes I've seen required blind baking.
    I've got the salmon and brocolli to try that one next!

    Ayup lad, I have made 3 of the quiche Lorraines, no flour at the shops, so I had to use shop bought pastry, just out of the oven, and the smell is devine!, One for the neighbor, and bro, in law, and you are right, the job satisfaction is very rewarding, letting them cool, and anticipating the plate turnover trick!, Happy days 🎉 pal, and keep safe.

    I made these two yesterday for the first time here in Tokyo. I always wanted to make quiche and you made it so easy, brilliant.     We blind bake also after wards its cooled we brush with mustard and we blanch the broccoli for 1 min then ice water then drain well . Also smoked haddock works great nice with water cress salad . Really enjoy watching work great dishes too . Caramelised red onions and goats cheese is nice

    I made the two quiches tonight and they both turned out lovely. First time I have made short crust pastry in years always just brought it. Won't be from now on it is so so easy thanks so much. Great tip about letting the bottom dry out on the pastry , well impressed.

    As I told you yesterday, today I have just finished eating a slice of respective quiche together with jacket potatoes and fresh tomatoes and lettuce as per your presentation. May I tell you they are fantastic. I used the fresh salmon in accordance with your suggestion and it came perfect. My wife congratulated me for both quiches. I owe it to you for your fine recipes and step-by-step instruction. I definitely recommend your videos to anyone with little or no experience of cooking to try these mouth-watering quiches as they are wonderful.     Your salmon & broccoli quiche recipe is excellent. I cooked it in a Lakeland Perfobake loose based perforated quiche tin which helps the pastry cook right through.

Would there be any advantage/disadvantage in blind baking the flan case first, or would that result in it being overcooked once the actual quiche itself had finished cooking?       Yes you can blind bake these if you wish.

    Just found your channel and love the easy home style cooking, and clear instructions. I love your kitchen, your range/stove is amazing I miss our old gas cooker. Your pots and utensils are new and shiny. looking forward to discovering more of your wonderful recipes. I work all day and Hubby retired likes to cook, but he uses the high eat and wrecks the frying pans.

    I made the quiche Lorraine today . I added a green chill with the spring onions .i also put some halved cherry tomatoes. And used sour cream as I already some in . Absolutely delicious. Congratulations on another fantastic recipe. Keep up the good work John 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

    I have these in the oven right now. I wanted to say that I utilized your food processor method for the pastery last evening. I am very impressed with the appearance and feel of the dough today.     Those quiches look absolutely delicious! I have been making a few lately, but never thought of a salmon and broccoli one. Mouth watering! Your such a good teacher , as the poster below says.
