There's no intro to this video because I filmed in several months back and sorta lost track of it due to the pandemic and horrible wildfires in my area. I realized I still had the footage and immediately edited the video - I hope you all enjoy it! This particular booster box of MECCG is actually quite rare so I doubt there are many other similar box openings out there!
Great video. As a teenager in the 90s living in the countryside, I could only buy these cards maybe 2-3 times a year when we went to town. It was so exciting opening the packs on the way home. Mostly The Wizards and Dragons packs (I never thought to buy a whole box). We tried to play but the game was too complicated for my lil bro. I recently broke all my old cards out and have been making decks and playing against myself. It's awesome watching your vids and getting the complete nostalgia hit.
Thank you! This is one of those games I never got a chance to get into since my brother and I mostly bought MTG at the time. It's such an awesome game that was really ahead of it's time in a lot of ways
Back then opening a pack I was always hoping for a rare character or a strong resource/hazard. I never found The One Ring. Now that I'm making modified versions of the wizard challenge decks using the cards I have, I find myself wishing for more copies of the common cards I want to include in every deck. Like Muster Disperses is so good! Your opponent can spend 2-3 turns recruiting a faction and you can just squish it (must roll 11(!), add their unused general influence). Just the threat of that card forces you to leave general influence free.
Well you got Baduila and Revealed to all Watchers, two most excellent cards, Necklace of Girion is also nice, Eyes of Mandos is almost a tutor. But don't forget the uncommens. Chill Douser is great, Great Secrets Burried there I like a lot in ring decks... From the commens Smoke rings and An unexpected outpost are played all the time.
This is blast from the past. I think I still have cards for this game from it's very first set. Oh and my favorite movie LotR movie is The Two Towers. That's right, middle one is my favorite.
I think The Two Towers is my girlfriend's favorite LOTR film - she really loves all of the Old English inspired stuff in Rohan (especially the song sung in Old English in the extended version)
Fellowship is my favourite film of the trilogy, and also if we included the Hobbits too. Loving the artwork, been a long time fan of the Guay style from MtG
It just has such a timeless and classic look to it! I love flashy modern stuff but this old school artwork will always have a special place in my heart
You seem like a cool guy and I really appreciate the content, but the way you open packs is extremely triggering for me. You're using the flex of the entire pack to mechanically force it open as your first method everytime. STOPPPPPPP
@@commentresurrection1841 Na man, if that's what you want to do that's your choice. Don't think that's what he wants though, so that's what makes it rough to me. I'm a man of the people.

The artwork on these is absolutely amazing! Love classic art like that.
Agreed! It's one of my favorite things about the game (it's also just a really fun and involved game that you can play solo)
The Artwork is so oldschool. Not every Card, but most Cardartworks are mindblowing! Oh boy
I love that these games were not afraid to be complex and hairy... So much so as to include a tiny-print rules update even in the boosters!

Thank you for the break down! It's really useful to folks like me who haven't really played MECCG much :)
Agreed! I'm just getting into this game, too, and it's so lovely and nostalgic! Thx for letting us know what are the "good" cards from this set!

You may not want to watch the other 500 vids I have then 😅
Then you would hate how I bend all of my cards just for fun
