The idea of countries is a relatively new idea. Until recently Europeans were nomads living in tribes around Europe. People married into different tribes to avoid inbreeding etc. We are 1 people, we all share the same blood.
Lugus We may share the same blood, but the differences between our cultures, languages and lands is what makes us special in the first place and is a big reason why a multicultural society can never work. @The Fire Rises Brothers I should just stop at “demographically replaced” to understand I cannot have a rational conversation with you, but since I feel slightly masochistic today, I'll try. First: those “enclaves” you talk about are little pieces of culture that remained isolated and did not represent a single nation, but a small community coming from a determined area of that nation. You see, if you were actually European, you'd know that European cultures are extremely regional, local and diverse, and that there are dozens of them in every single nation. Just as example, I come from a small town in Lake Maggiore, Lombardy, northern Italy, my mother's from there, but my dad's from Sicily. Of course I feel Italian, but I definitely feel Lombard in first place, because my mother is Lombard and most importantly I grew up here. I grew up eating cotoletta, risotto, pizzoccheri, all things that most of Italy doesn't eat on a common base, I speak our variant of Lombard (which is a separate language from Italian) to my mum and especially my grandpa. But despite all of this, my dad is Sicilian, so I understand Sicilian (also a separate language, even though I don't speak it) and at my place every now and then we had pasta al forno and arancini. This is what being from a place is, and you'll only get this by GROWING UP somewhere, full stop. Now, back to those enclaves you were talking about: not only they don't represent a country but a small part of it, but they represent that small part... of three fucking centuries ago! How is that possible that you don't realise that in three centuries places have changed? We're not the same guys your ancestors abandoned when they sailed to America! Another example, many mormons in America speak a variant of Swiss German (or Aleman) that does not even exist in Switzerland, because it's the mashup of different Aleman dialects spoken centuries ago. It's like saying somebody speaks Norwegian but he's actually speaking a mix of three different Noreen dialects! Can you understand what I'm trying to say? What you Americans do is taking all of our different cultures that mixed up America, reducing them to a plethora of outdated stereotypes and claiming to us we're the same thing as you guys. That's why I always say that I'd feel much more connected to the son of an African immigrant that grew up here than to any American whose third great grandparents immigrated to America in the 1880s: he might be half whatever country and region his parents came from, but at least he's actually Italian
Proud of my European ancestors. Survivors of 2 world wars, famines, civil wars, invasions, plagues, Religious persecution. Inventors, artists, Philosophers, conquerors, liberators. Creators of Democracy, Human rights, Civilization, electricity, Long Live Europa!
You do know, there were always refugees searching for a safe place even before the 20th century? The Huguenots in the 16th Century, for instance. Without them, Prussia and later Germany never knew of asparagus, cucumber, green peas, salad. Great Britain :In addition to their religion, Walloons and Huguenots were also welcomed because they brought much-needed skills and wealth that helped boost England’s economy. One particular skill was wool and silk weaving. In places like Canterbury and Spitalfields in East London, Huguenot entrepreneurs employed large numbers of poorer Huguenots as their weavers. They also introduced many other skills to England, such as feather and fan work, high-quality clockmaking, woodcarving, papermaking, clothing design and cutlery manufacture. Apart from Covid, Nationalism (not Patriotism), is the big disease of our lifetimes.
This is the time we show the world the true face of Europe. The time to be proud of being European and standing up to protect our nations. My brothers and sisters do not let the invaders take this beautiful land from us. Just as our ancestors always stood up and fought against any odds, so shall we. Long live Europe!
@clemenciuc Ask yourself why this continent has been able to progress, despite having hundreds of wars? In the end we grow through our differences. Being different makes us strong and unique.
"I come from West, the land of Arthur and I bring the fire" "I come from East, the land of Siegfried and I bring the fire". "I come from North, the land of Erik the Red and I bring the fire" "I come from South, the land of Romulus and I bring the fire" may the winter solstice be a good omen to all European peoples

Aljo Europe wouldn’t have never been able to advance without Ancient China. Things such as paper, the compass, various agricultural technologies, the crossbow, gunpowder, the paddle boat canons, the seismometer, the printing press, the helicopter propeller, the formula for flight, the stirrup, the iron plow, and do much more.
KeithKogane IsLife! Helicopter propeller doesn’t mean they take credit for the helicopter itself. There’s too many requirements for it. Also they did not build the printing press. That was built by Germany. And gun powder would have been quite easy to find, besides guns themselves don’t require gunpowder because the first guns were built by Europeans. However yes ancient China is superior to our own history, they have one of the richest histories in the world. Respect to them.
FreckleHeckler well if gunpowder was so easy to find why didn’t the Europeans find it? Gunpowder may not be in guns but it was needed for things such as dynamite and canons though. As well I didn’t say they invented the helicopter just a very important component, and yes they did invent the printing press as the earliest record of the printing press was in China during the Tang Dynasty in the year 868 A.D.
KeithKogane IsLife! No they did not. The printing press germany invented had no Chinese influence. So what germany created is what we have today. Also the one China made is not advanced at all nor is it the same. Germany still holds that honour of inventing it. And I’m saying gun powder would have been produced later on. It’s origin isn’t unique or exclusive to Chinese geographical location.
FreckleHeckler well it is unique to China because it was first invented there during the Qin dynasty in 206 BCE. As well their printing was much more advanced because it allowed them to be able to print hundreds of scrolls to distribute throughout the empire. This soon lead to them printing books by the Tang Dynasty. Johannes Gutenberg is credited with introducing printing to Europe, not inventing it. China was more scientifically advanced than Europe and built some of the most important inventions that are still used today.

We should always be proud of our accomplishments and triumphs throughout history. Being a beacon and a mould for other civilisations around the world who's been trying for generations to so desperately create a society as great as ours. But they will always miss something that can never be substituted: Us, the European people. We are the ones who made our continent so great and revered across the world! Europe is our home and we are all her children, something that can never be taken from us... We should protect it with everything we have, and not let these globalist, money-obsessed, elitist politicians, buerocrats and businessmen destroy what our fathers, grandfathers, our ancestors, had worked and fought so hard to build... It is up to us to build a stronger and safer europe together, for our children and their children and grand children. European people united and standing strong together against these modern threats that constantly want to divide us and bring us down, will make us unstoppable once again. Love all Europe and our proud European People's 💙

With loads of refugees

Europe is the greatest thing that could happen to todays world...

@@Me2Lancer I am happy to read that Americans remember they are European.
@@Me2Lancer identity is culture. You grew up in America, you have nothing to do with even one of our many national, regional, local cultures, even just for the fact that they have changed a lot since your ancestors departed. You know nothing about how a French is different from a Brit, an Italian from a German, a Dane from a Polish, and even within the regions and little zones themselves a Lombard is nothing like a Sicilian, a Bavarian is nothing like a Berliner, a Breton has literally almost nothing to do with the rest of French people, many Basque would be offended if you called them Spaniards, a Romansh would be proud of his strong identity compared to the rest of the Swiss-German speaking canton of Grisons. The love for the land, the city, the town, was not stone built in you like is it to us, you have no idea what any word in any of our tons and tons of local language mean, you probably never even heard of some of our traditional meals, you have no idea who our celebrities are. *This* is culture, and culture can only be acquired, especially during infancy. If you didn't grow up in a place, with your parents being from there, you can't have it, sorry. And even if you might dislike this, but as an Italian, I feel much more connected to a son of immigrants that grew up here, that speak my language, that shares my culture, than can understand our inside jokes than with any wannabe-Italian heritage obsessed American whose only knowledge of Italy is the stereotypical representation of Sicily in the Godfather films.

As a young European born in South Africa from Dutch, English, Prussian and Italian families I and many others here feel such a strong connection to our home continent, our heritage and our history...
