great job! my only suggestion to those who would try and build this coop is to have the chicken wire buried 4-6 inches in the ground all the way around the coop foundation or your feathery little friends will dig themselves out! Chickens are very determined to find a way out!
What a beautifully done book ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxo4aMFkUegBx-KHPIJlfwKPHu7kQXAR9N ! The text and the photographs are brilliant. It is thorough and genuinely informative. Joseph Truini got another winner! No one does it better! Love the Cape Cod Shed with the Blue door!
Been watching videos like this for 2 yrs while I save for my homestead. Im not a city girl and the suburbs is to restrictive. Watching these videos confirms my decision. I know where I belong. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 😊
Been looking for a way to use some old tin to build a coop and this is a perfect way for me to recycle some of it. I can make a larger coop for way less money. Thanks for sharing this simple build for someone with no building skills like me. 63 year old female . I can do this. ✌
Excellent work mate, most people these days are making a hotel for chooks, this is effective and used materials already on hand....Good looking coop mate
This is just what we needed to see. My husband, sons, and I will be building our first coop and run . We are on a tight budget and have limited supplies like the supplies in this video. Thanks for making this video.
nothing like a full 8 minutes of the same soothing, generic, country jingle you would hear in the background of any local furniture sales tv commercial from 1998. with a little random hammering blended over top. Exactly the instructional I was looking for. I understood every word. I'm kidding to an extent but..nice work with salvaging the metal roof and materials. Also, this coop looks like something you'd see in the rural countryside on Grand theft auto.
I have physical limitations. I don’t know how I would lift and carry these things and to affix a roof on top. Other than that this looks simple enough to do. Maybe I can use pallets instead and to not make mine so high where I will need a ladder or something. I really needed to see your way of doing this. I want to see more from you. Thank you for this video.
We got are chicken coop that my parents had when the were young and rebuilt the floor and walls. We didn’t really have a budget but it came out good. We made a nice wooden run and then we took a metal dog pen and built that onto the front of the wooden run.
Thank you so much for this video. Been trying to find predator free coop I can make myself, no luck till today! The holes for the 4x4 may prove difficult, but I think everything else I can do by myself. Thanks again.
So I was wondering on how I can start my village chicken poultry....with this that you've share it's attainable coz I have the material to make that....
The post were put in with a post hole digger. If you put them down at least 10inches will keep them steady. As well as making sure the dirt is packed very well.
Yay I found a coop that I can build and I have leftover tin from our barn, and posts. Does it keep racoons out? And thanks for showing how to use snips I tried but I couldn't figure it out 🤣
I like you're coop published on my birthday:) But was it nescesarry to cut the tin. Why not use tin's whole length, and just place posts at appropriate places along it;ie ends/middles etc and save the tin and the cutting.
Thank you I am doing this for my meat chickens already have the lumber and a whole roll of 1x1 wireing left over from meat rabbit cages so only need a couple sheets of roofing tin 😁
Female here whats the name of the metal cutting scissors. Best one I seen yet me myself I'll probably cuz I'm so skittish of the animals at night trying to pray on my chicken I will put some electric fencing on the outside before they can actually get to the coop
Great i dint buildt mine like this because i had no tin but i did use a bunch of leftover pieces and close around a wooden bed buyng all new can be expensive
Hanks so much for sharing your skil with l the practical Demonstration fo bonus. I started on a chicken house of 20ft×10 ft so I have a great affirmation. Blessing
It was mostly scrap/reused material so the only new purchase was the 4x4 posts. With wood prices now I wouldn’t have any idea. If using recycled materials you could probably do it for under $200
It is about 10’ x 20’ so it is larger than it seems. It is just over 6’ tall. Since our birds free range during the day this area is more for housing them overnight.
Love the concept but we have raccoons so I would have to bury the bottom portion about a foot or pour concrete around it to make it more predator proof.
We have been blessed not to have a predictor problem getting in the coops we only have problems when they are outside. We have a hawk problem but have put up owl decoys that have helped
Just lay 2ft out from coup 1x1 wireing attach to coup they won’t get in also instead of chicken wire run that 1x1 wire they can’t get thru it’s what I did to my meat rabbit leanto we have possum bobcat coyote
Just completed my 12×8 because of this design. Unfortunately, I didn't have only material to start off with and invested in cured wood. The material alone I'm looking at roughly $1,500. But man it is everything I could of imagined. Thank you for uploading your video.
We have up to 20 in this coop. But they a let out in the mornings to free range so they just go in and out to lay eggs and sleep in the coop. When we didn’t free range we only kept 12 In it.
You forgot to bury these corrugated sheet 10 inches into the ground. And believe me i know what i'm talking about. I would also recommend a concrete slab if you want to avoid rats coming in and eating your eggs
Thanks for the idea. These have been up for almost 4 years now and we have never had any problems with predators getting inside. Also we have a farm cat that keeps the rats gone so we have never had an issue with them either.
great job! my only suggestion to those who would try and build this coop is to have the chicken wire buried 4-6 inches in the ground all the way around the coop foundation or your feathery little friends will dig themselves out! Chickens are very determined to find a way out!
We have had these up for a few years now and have no trouble with them digging out. We also let them out during the day.
I’ve raised chickens for years and never had any dig themselves out…..
I like this but i do think wire on the bottom is a good idea to keep predators from digging under tne tin
They do dig out
We have never had our chickens to dig out. We free range them during the day and they only go up at night.

What do people use a coup and run for ?
@@elhambromell1179 Runs are often used if you have limited space and to protect from predators, vs free range.

That was great, can't find men like you any more.Thank you for making a coop as simple as 1,2,3.great job.
Thanks so much for the kind words. Glad you like the video.

Glad you liked it. It is still working good over three years later.
Hi! We just got some Rio Poults ourself and I’m researching everyone’s coops before we start ours. Glad I found your channel! Nice To Meet You!
Just bought 4 easter egger chickens and I think I'm gonna make this exact coop. I'm not a carpenter at all so wish me luck.
This is brilliant thank you so much for sharing ...information
About to start my chicken coop... i am really great full for this vedio

I do love the simplicity of this. Very innovative! 👏👌
Super very good idea and beautiful

Ohhhhh, I have the same old scrap tin laying around. Bout to build my coop.
That’s great
Are all sides even? I worry about the rain collecting on top of the roof and not falling off. Thanks!

Great video 🙏 What would you suggested to keep predators from digging in. We previously had a fox situation
Wow... Thanks for sharing information...
Love from India ❤️
This is the way we make our small duck and chicken coop in my country. Cheap and simple.
My Childhood friends Had One Just Like This Growing Up.
Excellent work, how many chickens can we grow in this coop
Because we let them out during the day we can keep up to 24 birds in this coop.
I really like what you did here. Do you also have rabbits? Can you please explain how you built a rabbit hutch?
I'm looking for ideas for a new goose hut. This is perfect. Thank you.
Looking good brother. Tidewater VA
How do you get a wood post in the ground without cementing it?
The post were put in with a post hole digger. If you put them down at least 10inches will keep them steady. As well as making sure the dirt is packed very well.
Very nice macking brother
Thanks
with chicken pens you should dig down a few inches in the ground were the tin is to help keep varmints out and chickens in
We have never had any problems with this type of coop where we are. We have used this style for 4 years.
I always make sure to bury my chicken wire at least 18" out from the coop. Critters give up trying to dig in to get my chickens that way.
We have never had anything try to dig in. The first of these has been built for almost 5 years.
I love that two dogs
Do you have cuts and measurements on how to build that same coop
Yay I found a coop that I can build and I have leftover tin from our barn, and posts. Does it keep racoons out? And thanks for showing how to use snips I tried but I couldn't figure it out 🤣
Susie don’t eat that box! 😂😂😂❤🐐🐕
Looks great! For how many chickens?
How dose it go for air flow on hot days
I like you're coop published on my birthday:) But was it nescesarry to cut the tin. Why not use tin's whole length, and just place posts at appropriate places along it;ie ends/middles etc and save the tin and the cutting.
Thanks mate. Straightforward design. Love it.
What the measurements on this if ya don't mind me asking
No me canso de mirar el video 10/10. Felicitaciones.
Me ayuda con las measurements place.
It is 10 foot x 20 foot
Ya gracias amigos.

How far did you separate each post?
I think its around 2 meters per post
Thanks for the inspection really helps
first storm the chickens all got out and the building collapsed lol jj
We have had this pen up through lots of storms and it has held up great. One thing that is important it making sure your post are deep in the ground.
Living Small And Loving Large thank you !! The brother in law is making one like your video thanks so much !!!!
Great I’m glad you found it helpful.
@@LivingSmallAndLovingLarge must you use concrete to embed the wooden poles to be storm proof?
We didn’t add any concrete and they have done well.
Looks like a call of duty map

Can you explain. I need to make one fast for rescues

no stealing involved we are here to inspire
What is this Metal called i need to get some of this metal
Corrugated sheet metal
Some places call it roof metal. We recycled ours from an old barn.
It's called corrugated zinc sheet
