    In fact Dr.pv Satyanarayana senior heart surgeon suggested almost the same diet and got himself cured of diabetes. As per his diet plan he suggested only five percent carbohydrates and rest fats and protein loaded diet.. you can watch his interview in you tube.

    My friend is super patient his suger levels after meal nearly 250 after using this diet his suger levels down to 116 with in two days BP also in control 110/70

    Ramakrishna Garu is best It is working nicely and i stopped diabetic medicines also from day one. My sugar and BP levels are normal. The diet suits every one since it contains no harmful substances which damages any organs. He said if anyone feels weak then they have to increase their FAT %. Secondly use it for 10days and see results for yourself and if it suits you then continue further or leave it. When you see results for yourself then it encourages you by seeing weight loss and you will continue for more days. He is speaking very genuinely and all these pharma giants will discourage since they might get loss when people start using this diet and won't buy their medicines. This is only a short period maximum 3 months hence there won't be any harm i feel. Ramakrishna garu never said don't do exercise, infact he said that his friend could pedal fast than him while cycling. Secondly, research can go on side by side and it requires lot of financial support which any resourceful person can do, why only Ramakrishna garu.

    Very good analysis Doctor. It looks like may people following this diet recently in Telugu states. Not a surprise as most of the people are suffering from diabetes and obesity. As a keto diet explorer for last 2 years, my suggestions to the followers is first try to understand how the body system and physiology works. before you start the diet, see the videos of Dr. Eric Berg in youtube. He has provided hundreds of short videos about the whole system and Keto diet.

    Well said, hope this will create enough awareness among general public regarding this keto diet.
    Fat or carbs ( BALANCED DIET), in moderate quantity with enough exercise will give enormous health benefits.

    Dr you follow his diet. I lost about 12 kgs in 3 weeks. I also feel lot more energetic.
    I was pretty close to being diabetic. Thanks to Veera video it helped. Lo carb high fat is the way to go.
    May be you try the diet yourself.

    I agree that ramakrishna's/Ketogenic diet is not for everyone and also not for life time (I have never heard him saying that it should be taken for longer than 2 months and the fat intake he mentioned is also for just 10 days). It should be done for a short period. I believe its basically a reset for your body to get more out of it. And I have seen people taking Ketogenic diet for body building and other purposes just to gain much more benefits in a faster way. If some other benefits occur by doing this diet plan then its a blessing and no one knows for sure if it really works for everyone. Just be cautious if anyone is trying it and expecting some miracle to happen (of course some people get lucky). Its not sanjeevani.

    Few lines to add, eat two or three times daily. Do not eat continuously throughout the day. Have enough water. Do daily simple stretches which circulate the blood to the entire body. If you practice these if you have any lifestyle diseases will be cured over a period of time but you should have patience.

    Our family followed it, irrespective of age VRK diet useful. If a doctor worries about scientific proof, let me say simple and Crystal clear answer. If you feel any uncomfort during diet max you may abort diet. If doctor says long run it may not healthy even VRK diet doesn't say to continue long term. Everyone should no it's just keep you at good level that's it. All are aware not to try zero size

    There is real need for personalization of dietary plans and need for close monitoring. LCHF [ low carb healthy/high fat ] or ketogenic diet helps a lot. Our food is our medicine also. There positives to both arguments.
    But real coordination and understanding and personalized education is needed.

    Ok he might not be 100% correct but he is doing good thing making people to eat good food instead of junk food. Dr. Mark Hyman made this study in 2005 and wrote book eat fat and get thin this diet increases metabolism. Just let me know what's wrong with this diet. He said eat when ever you are hungry it doesn't mean diet is same for every one. Don't give wrong information. Why don't you call him and talk directly.

He is trying to share his experience. Now as a doctor you do the investigation. Who will wait for 5 years??30 years?? Please suggest some reasonable plan.

    you had valid points sir..but imagine if docs,nutritionist recommend not to eat refined food..bcoz now sugars were no longer called carbs bcoz refined food eliminate fiber,starch which is usefull for slow digestion of carbs unlike the refined sugars.how logic it would be to adopt diet which we have already been with..

      Just because you never heard of it before does not make it suspicious. If you have followed what he says completely, it has scientific basis, and some parts of it have been in use for thousands of years. Ketogenic component of it is a more recent trend, in the last 25 years.

    in lot of programs i seen docs says lifestyle modification like eating street foods which cause inflammation in body but if you take look at % of age who are suffering from diabetes and heart disease its more on the upper side who never tasted Chinese or Indian street food..majority people who were on street food had gastritis as common disease not diabetic.yes street food are not good but they are not the reason for diabetics and heart health. Culprits : 1) over refined sugars like white rice 2) refined wheat which has gluten 3)less green veggies like cruciferous ,4) Low unsaturated fats and poly unsaturated like Omega 3,& 9, 5)low sulfur vegg & 6) water(mineral water)..we miss the probiotics present in well waters now drinking just plain water which don't have trace minerals and probiotics...

If someone have a genetic disease regarding fat carnage or receptor mediated issues....they can die in weeks time !!     Doctor don't argue about Ramakkroshna Garu. Becz he is not a bussiness doctor. He is plan is good and only period of time 2to 4montjs.not long time diet . 1st you should know that ok

      INDIAN HUMANITY :That is what this doctor is saying! Mr Ramakrishna has conducted very limited tests that too not on scientific basis. It is not correct to blindly follow such methods without checking long term effects.

    What I suggest is excess carbohydrates, excess fruits are not good for health. Usually doctors says have more fruits, this is totally wrong. Fruits are the direct sugars. Thats why we should take more of foods which do not digest easily and in a required quantity (quantity is important, do not do overeating, it is the main reason for all diseases). eat veg foods like Jonna, raaagulu, brown rice. do not eat idli, dosa, vada, refined rice, refined oils, too much fruits. if you taking non veg always then you must have few spoons of flax seeds or any other food contains fiber, to digest the eaten food.

    Ramakrishna is also says the same. Diet has to be set by individual. Most important is that high intake of carbohydrates is not recommended. This point is accepted by all. Doctors are suggesting to take good cholesterol. Statin tablet do not recognise good or bad cholesterol. My view is that we are not taking adequate good cholesterol .

    With great respect to Dr Mukharjee, my objection in his argument is asking for certificate from medical community for this program which can never happen because medical field in these highlighted so-called deceases (diabetics & obesity etc) itself is trillions of dollars (not rupees) business. His advice of testing Veeramachaneni diet for 30 years on volunteers and if proved can be given is not practical as these medical business guys make sure that this practice can never be certified. What should happen to patients who wanted to go for this diet for next 30 years? Should they die with consuming tablets and insulin doses or what? It is happening with the people who are practicing regular medication anyway.
    If he is so interested, I request him to pl go and check the people who already went through this dies practice and recovered. If he find anything wrong, he always has a right to question the practice anyway.
    My sincere question here is whether tablets or insulin which doctors are using were tested for 30 years & certified before prescribing them to all masses? If not, why he is asking 30 years test time period for this diet program? If yes, why there is not even a single recovery from this decease is happening?

    I completely disagree with above comments. Keto diet is perfectly safe than many medicines prescribed in Allopathy system. It's being used for 8-12 weeks only and it helps with insulin resistance which is the main pathophysiology responsible for many of the lifestyle related diseases. Mr. Ramakrishna garu should be lauded for the yeoman's service for the common man without expecting anything in return. I think he should be awarded Padma Shri for the making the effort to help the common man at such a large scale. In totality, the benefit done to the society far exceeds any minor nuisance it can cause in select few people in the long term.
