Rack and Pinion gears
Gears or toothed wheel may be classified according to the axes of the two shaft between which the motion is to the transmitted. The types of gears to be determined based on the application in which they are to be used.
What is simple gear train?
A simple gear train uses two gears, which may be of different sizes. ... When a simple gear train has three meshed gears, the intermediate gear between the driver and driven gear is called an idler gear. An idler gear does not affect the gear ratio (velocity ratio) between the driver gear and the driven gear.
How many types of gear are there?
There are three major categories of gears in accordance with the orientation of their axes. Configuration : Parallel Axes / Spur Gear, Helical Gear, Gear Rack, Internal Gear.
