  • Buying carry ammo SUCKS. You want to make sure it functions well, yet it is too expensive to shoot often. This video gives an overview of a condensed function check process intended to make sure your carry ammo works in your gun in conditions when it is most likely to have issues. This process verifies function at the lowest cost possible. Comment below with your favorite carry ammo!

    Trevor! Just throwing it out there, I think a comped G48 size handgun with 15 round capacity would sell like crazy!

      @@DazdnCofuzdmeme calibers don't really sell well. there's very little point in any of the above except for 10mm, and even that's only really useful to people living in bear country.

      @@DazdnCofuzdnot only do you not need a new caliber, but they dont need to make a new caliber and risk screwing anything up as far as their production lines or anything else. 9mm’s the best handgun round overall, they know how to operate with 9 and how to make AMAZING guns that shoot 9. There is 0 reason to change that just because you bought into 5.7 or 10mm or whatever other inferior bullet lol

    I love my CR920P I only had one failure to feed during my 200 round break in, 150 rounds of 115 grain and 50 rounds 124 grain and it ate it all up, shoots like a full size gun, its genuinely my favorite pistol for concealed carry as well as home defense 🔥 Dont get wrong! I really hope they come out with 15 rounds mags or a longer 43x type of frame in the near future

    A definite must do! I also go every 6 months to shoot any carry ammo that I have been carrying around for the last 6 months. It goes through many thermal cycles, so just want to be sure it's all good to go.

      I never chamber carry ammo more than once. When I unload I mark the base of the chambered round with an X.

    When you talk about the vulnerabilities of cycling from slide-lock around 2:30 you help make an excellent case for training to cycle the slide with your non-shooting hand EVERY TIME, regardless of slide position. During extreme stress we will do what we always do at the range without thinking about it. When we lose all fine motor skills due to stress and adrenaline, accurately pressing that slide stop with a single finger will be extremely difficult. Train like there’s an oven mit on your left (non-shooting) hand and as though the slide stop doesn’t exist. Great video!

      I’m not saying that it’s “wrong” to rack the slide from slide lock instead of using the slide release lever, but the whole fine motor skills thing is kinda cognitive dissonance to me. Literally every control on the gun is a fine motor skill. The trigger and magazine release are both fine motor skills. If your argument is that all fine motor skills will just go out the window under the stress of a gunfight, then you can forget about operating the trigger and definitely forget about even being able to release an empty mag to reload in the first place.

      @@woodystube1000 I hear ya. You are certainly not the only person I’ve heard who has mentioned the fine motor skills thing. I just have to apply some critical thinking to it. It’s not me who made that realization either. I took the fine motor skills going to shit mentality at face value until it was mentioned by a few people who have actually been in gunfights that they considered it not exactly a perfect line of reasoning. If racking the slide instead of using the release is your preferred method, by all means, rack away.

    Consider making a base pad that holds 13-15 rounds but it follows/fills the full contour of the grip so it looks/feels seamless.

    I recently started paperwork (because I live in a shitty state) for purchasing an MR920 Combat Optic. Was wondering if the EPS spacer is shipped with the guns? If it’s not I’ll just have to order one. It’s just gonna suck to pay for shipping on an $8 part.

    What’s shadows opinion on steel case rounds? The weekends I go out and wanna shoot off 500+ round I can save 50-100$ on a case of 1000.

    • @ShadowSystemsCorp
      @ShadowSystemsCorp  4 місяці тому +1

      We don’t love steel case but some brands run okay. Be aware that some steel case ammo is pretty lightly loaded so if there are issues, it is usually short strokes. Also, the “lacquered” steel case (Brown Bear, etc.) feeds okay, but the “polymer coated” cases (some of the Wolf stuff) tends to hang up in the mags more. I would not use that. Trevor
