I live in Kentucky. I am a Hydrographic, and Construction Surveyor. I have watched equipment operators for 25 years, and you are one of the smoothest operators I have ever seen. You make every move count, and with no time loss. I really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming. Thanks for all your hard work.
Hi. As a commercial plumber from the chicago area. I've had my fair share of time operating a skidsteer. I can honestly say you make it look easy. Looks real good. I always told my boss, " that's why equipment operators is a whole trade into itself". Just cuz you can figure out how to turn the equipment on and make it go back and forth and up and down, doesn't mean you know how to do it. Lol Nice job, Chris. Ed
That job came out a LOT better than what I was thinking it might. I'm not sure what is worse. The rain you've gotten, or what we have here in NW Illinois. We had 6 inches of snow, capped off by a 1/4" of rain and sleet. As soon as it froze solid, we had another bit of snow, with another 1/4"" of freezing rain on top. Snow would have been fine, or rain, as long as it stayed above freezing till it could run off, but putting the 2 together, is a real PITA!
Always enjoy the videos boss man. You keep a clean area on your property. World needs more neighbors like you. I never understood why just because someone doesn't have a lot of money, great job, what ever, that the yard needs to look like a land fill. For Pete's sake, mow the grass and pick up the trash on your property. Only takes a little effort and a few dollars in gas for the mower. If you can afford cell phones, marlboro lights, and snuff, you can afford to clean up the yard.
The old 160 back in action Right off the bat.that came outvquiet nicely even Tho it was all Wet and soggy. With it being rolled in makes it look a Lot Better than before for sure. Nice video too.😀😀
It seems everyone in the southeast is wet. I had another 3/4 inch of rain on my sand hill (that is wet) from the 1+1/2 inches a few weeks ago. Did not care for the 26-28 F. last week, so as long as we stay above 35F. I`m good. It has been a good time to dig up and relocate blueberry bushes next to my 'relocated garden' - I have 3 more to dig up and replant tomorrow. And thanks for the tip and video Chris about Pat`s hitch parts. I ordered and got my set today and will put them on my J.Deere 2025 tomorrow. I will make it easier to swap finish mower, to box blade, to disc harrows, to subsoiler.
The invention of those skid steers must have revolutionised the groundwork trade at least on par with how the invention of the cordless drill did to the building fitout trades. That little thing is so versatile, it's a wonder how it was ever done before they came along.
Wow Chris, we'd love to have some of that extra rain out here in the intermountain west, we're in a serious drought. Not hardly a drop of precipitation in the last 9 months.
That’s because the entire east coast stole all the moisture lol. We had about 6” of snow on the ground and steady rain for 3 days that added up to 2.5” of rain here in western pa.
That swing motor has a little "growl" this morning. I am in middle Ga. and we have seasonal rain but nothing like the Carolina's have had. That has got to be one tough skid steer because it is shown no mercy in whatever you are doing with it.

I thought you were going to have to get out the mats to go across the yard. Here in central Texas, we use caliche rock and dust to build on. If you can get it packed down and then get water it in good, it gets nearly as hard as concrete. Depending on the exact composition of stone it’s actually an acceptable foundation. But we don’t get near the rain fall you guys get. We can get flash floods of even ten inches in a few hours, but it never rains for days on end or much during the summer at all.

Just curious, what's your reasoning for using the excavator over the skidsteer? I'm used to using a front loader for spreading dirt like that, haven't had as much time on excavators though, usually just digging with them, not spreading
Just curious Chris, how come no base rock or fabric under your stone? Where I’m at most people try to put down some base or at least some fabric to keep the road pack from mixing in the mud overtime. Maybe our soils are a little different here in Illinois. Project looks great thou!

He should be good, he only does it 7 days a week. Driving Volvo machines helps a little too, very smooth to operate.

Can you explain what you are doing on the skid steer with the 4 way bucket and why in a future video PLEASE!
nicely worked, but I wonder why not ground fabric? Then it lasts longer and you do not have to repair all the time.
