  • What's up everyone join me as I dish out my thoughts with light spoilers on the latest Entry in the Creed/Rocky franchise Creed III starring Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors. Can the film stand tall without the franchises classic character of Rocky Balboa? Does it still have heart? Let's talk about it.
Synopsis: Still dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed is thriving in his career and family life. When Damian, a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy resurfaces after serving time in prison, he's eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face-off between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to battle Damian -- a fighter who has nothing to lose.

I was nervous going in without Rocky but I thought the movie worked without him. Sure, the script was overly predictable and the story kinda cliche. However the performances and Michael B. Jordan’s directing made up for it. I loved the style he brought to the fight scenes. It was a very strong directorial debut. While it is probably my least favourite in the Creed trilogy its still a solid movie and I liked it quite a bit. Great review

Thank you so much for the comment, and without a doubt the movie didn’t reinvent the wheel but it was a damn good presentation and gave enough new to keep me invested and entertained I also enjoyed the surreal aspects to this one, especially that end fight with it’s symbolic nature. Dame was a fresh take as an adversary and for the most part the movie felt organic and consistent with the Creed world. Totally agree this was a great job for MBJ’s directorial debut as well.
