I own the 105, but not a 135. Without trying to sound biased, I'll go with the 105 with this shoot. Question for you TMIDD: Why did you shoot with 2 AD200 Pros? Did you not have your 300 Pro or were you just experimenting? Either way, you always get nice shots! Thanks for keeping us inspired by sharing & teaching.
Which one you thinking of getting first? I can’t decide if I really Want to add that weight to my kit. I downsized my camera bag but it’s looking like imma need to make some space 😂
Both lenses are gorgeous! I own the Sigma 105 Art "baby-zooka" lol & it's hands down my favorite lens. Even tho I've switched to Nikon Z, I still kept that lens. I don't think I'll ever part w/ it, it has so much character to it. The Plena is solid tho...one day I'll add it to my collection 😅
@@TMIDD I'll be here once you run it back 😂😂 It's on my R6 pretty much all the time. Especially for portraits. I'll use my RF 50 1.2 in tight spaces but when I'm shooting outdoors, 98% of the time, it's attached to my camera!
It's close and many shots could be circumstantial, but more of the sigma shots do it for me personally. That lens seems to have more atmosphere/depth though possibly less clinically perfect. The comparison shots at 8:23 are pretty much a dead heat though imho. If I was buying though, I would go for the Nikkor cause if memory serves me the Sigma isn't weather sealled?? I stroll through Typhoons with my gear several times a year..
I agree because the clouds would not let me be great this day haha Typhoons def call for the weather sealing I actually played with the 135mm in the rain while at a waterfall to see how it would hold up
@@TMIDD in my experience the Nikkor lenses with weather sealing are very well sealed. That 200-400 I always mention was unbelievable. Literally shot in down pours, typhoons, and even snow with no ill effects. It also survived several falls including one that killed a Z6, but that is arguably one of the most insanely built Nikkor lenses of all times.
The Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena has significantly enhanced contrast and color saturation. Upon close examination of the reds, it is clear that both lenses exhibit differences in color saturation, although in different ways. Nevertheless, it is crucial to acknowledge that the potential for editing cannot be brushed aside, and this might impact my evaluation.
Honestly, for me it was the Sigma 105 f 1.4, but I do have the new Canon RF 135 f 1.8, and wish I had the Sigma 105 instead with better out of focus bokeh.

Nice work bro. Do you have any AF issues with the 105? Thanks
Its not as quick but that doesnt make it a deal breaker for me

I couldn't agree with you more that sigma 105 may need its own suitcase to travel haha. What do you use the sigma for?
You wanted to test out the bokeh king but you stopped it down to f1.8 what’s that about bro ?

The 105 took the dub this round.
As much as I hate to admit it I will. Literally I just colored graded the Sigma images and was happy with them.
Is the 105 a heavy lens?
I'm not going to lie it is heavy and takes up some space in the camera bag but it makes up for it with the images it helps you produce!
