@@cecilelopezbernal4903. Before my husband passed away are used to play Matt Monro softly as I leave you. Those are real words from a man who was dying and his wife was playing on him sleeping. He did not wanna wake her. It’s a fantastic song and it’s exactly what happened to us when my husband passed away. I had him softly in my arms ours all of our three kids were holding him also by the hand. We are for watching slip away to eternity. Very satisfying I would say.
I'm a Metalhead and I love this song, and I always have ever since it first came-out in 1977. Engelbert Humperdinck just had such a warm, entrancing magical voice. Great singer and great song.
This was popular when I was with the love of my life Cristina (Kika) back in 1977. She would always sing it to me. We haven't been together for a long time but every time I hear this song I can't help but remember the wonderful time we had. Still missing you and always will.
When Saturday came around to do housework, my mom would put his album on and turn up the volume and we would sing with him while cleaning. I miss those days with mom.
My husband was a professional singer. He opened for Connie Frances , Mel Torme , etc out in California. He was older than me. This was before we met. This was a song I used to play all the time on a restaurant jukebox we went to. It was a bit before my time , but I loved it. He surprised me one night and sang it for me on stage , when I went to work with him. (He sang in clubs) He surprised me again at our wedding reception and sang it to me. He had a rare kidney disease pop up out of the blue , and when he was lying in ICU in a semi coma , I sang it to him. After his funeral my sister asked me to go out with her and her friends to get me away from sitting at home crying. The first song that they played at the lounge was this song. (Not a current song in 2003) I began to cry. My sister said "It's Troy letting you know that he's still with you". I miss him terribly , but I know he is waiting for me in Heaven , because he loved the Lord. That gives me peace. ❤😪
My Mom and Dad, and they took me along with them to his concert in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1970's . My Momma's crush! My Mother swayed and clapped and sang throughout the whole concert. While my Father kept his eyes on her the whole concert just smiling! And I watched my Father, watching my Mother! LOL My heart was HAPPY that day! My Parents renewed their Wedding vows to this song. And they always danced at home to this song. A few weeks after my Father passed away. I put on this song on. And I slow danced with my Mother. Her face was full of tears! She sobbed quietly! Which made made me cry! Damn I miss them both!!!!!

every time i hear this song i will always think of my dear mother. her name was dolores stamathis and she passed away on nov 5 2013. engelbert was her favorite and she even was on stage with him in columbia md. back in the 70s. this one is for u mom not a day goes by without me thinking of you. i love and miss you dearly.
I do private parties, shows in community events, fairs and assisted care/memory care centers. I met my wife online while I was taking care of my mother (I am a retired firefighter/paramedic) when she was in one state, and I was in another. I would put the phone by my equipment and sing this song and many others to her over the phone. I would sing my mother's favorites to her. After we lost Mom, I moved to my girl's place and immediately got married. That was almost 10 years ago. Best move I ever made! Now, I sing to her "live"!!
My Dad was a Jazz Musician and Multi Instrumentalist, I used to hear him play this on Guitar and sing for my mother. Dad passed in 1998 and Mom went to be with him in 2008. I love music and play guitar but those memories flood my spirit every time I hear it. I'm glad they're together.
Listening to this makes me smile. Thinking of my grandmother who recently passed 2 years ago, she was so gaga for engelbert always playing his music 24/7 in her house. I miss her dearly💕 this song is everything when you just close your eyes and listen 👂
This song was everywhere during Fall/Winter 1976/77. It was easy to understand, romantic, and evoked memories of back then when we had someone to hopefully love and love us in return. I miss that time, the people of that time, and being 21 back then…
Whenever I sing this song on Karaoke night the women stop in their tracks--give full attention--It's then that I realize that most of them have never heard this beautiful classic...This song has made me more friends--then any other song that I sing...Absolutely the most romantic love song ever wrote and perfectly performed...Guys if you want to tear down the walls of the women at the clubs --sing this song!!!
Troof! Seriously, I dreamed this song being sung to me a thousand times. Beautiful beyond words! That is why they stop in their tracks. Every woman.... every person... wants someone to feel this way about them.
He is Mr Magic makes you feel great when your down. I wished I would have married the man I was in love with back in ‘71 I let him go so now I only have my music to remember him by. My bad luck.🎇
There are so many Engelbert songs I love, but, this one IS my favorite one by him. My family had that 45RPM record back when it first came out !! It will always be a favorite song of all time for me !!! Wish I could see him in concert - saw a TV special by him a few years ago, and, YEP !!! He's still got it !!! When he sang this song - I cried tears of joy !!! 🥰🤩🥰

Enge shows this clip in his shows (or has fairly recently). Entertaining and singing brilliantly today with even greater love towards his fans and audience. Incredible person. Thanks Enge. lanny ross Ain't THAT the truth! And, much of what we're hearing today, isn't really that good; The electronic age is not a bad thing but, electronic ✋ claps, drum beats, string section and horns, have taken the place of REAL musicians and, what THEY do best; the rapper who's got no real talent and, uses other people's materials and, make a TON of money from "Sampling", is a sad, wistful longing for something real. I too my friend, want to at least find a radio station that plays these wonderful, lyrically rich songs; So, I can reminisce about love, life and the joy of it!

I am listening to this song right now and I love it so much! This song can turn a bad day into a bright day for me. I can't help myself but I just adore this song, it is my favorite of all time . "Sampling", is a sad, wistful longing for something real. I too my friend, want to at least find a radio station that plays these wonderful, lyrically rich songs;
So, I can reminisce about love, life and the joy of it!
I always love listening to your wonderful music.eversince I was young ,your voice is really amazing.it will never fade.thanks for your wonderful songs.
I first heard for this for a few seconds and had to listen to it in it's entirety. Awesomely soothing.
Unlike today's crap, back then, the music was right, the voice was right, the hair was right, the clothes were right.
“Today’s Crap” oh shut up with that already, let people enjoy music
back in the days, it was all skills and natural talent..no need to twerk, yell, cuss..just pure charisma
@@tedporciuncula3385 i'm not sure if i agree... i understand you might not like modern music but to say there's no talent today is incorrect.
here are 3 songs that i believe to very good and the artists are very talented.
Doja Cat - Say So
Bruno Mars - That's What I Like
The Weeknd - Save Your Tears
Enjoy!!!
@@elaztecapecador , show me where I said there is no talent today?
@@tedporciuncula3385 it's right there in your first comment. that's what was insinuated... right?
My. Prayers and condolences to all who have lost loved ones. Amen
Always loved this song! Remember when I first heard it on the radio. Thanks for posting!
This song never fails to take me back to the mid 80's. Thank you, EH, for the memories that are both happy and sad.
I am listening to this song right now and I love it so much! This song can turn a bad day into a bright day for me. I can't help myself but I just adore this song, it is my favorite of all time . I must be a powerfully romantic person for this song to make me feel as I do when I hear it. I wish everyone, everywhere, would listen to this song, just to be fair to themselves; maybe it would make them feel renewed, rejuvenated and stimulated as it does me. This song is "powerful medicine" for me. Thank God for Engelbert's singing ability and his great looks.
When I first hear it long long go, I Believed it will be an eternal song , here Iam I here it after and after and still do

He's such a beautiful man with an equally beautiful voice. I could pass for his granddaughter and I dig his music. He has such a romantic way of singing that I believe no artist in my generation can capture.... Pure love and innocence
