I saw your first video too. You do a great job of filming. You hold the camera so steady! Thank you for that. You also give your viewers a good long look at things. I hope you make more like or similar to this.
This remains one of the best videos on this subject. Many of the other narrators do not know what they are talking about. You do by keeping comments to a minimum. Thank you.
Thank you very much. Very kind. I was trying to be respectful. And also let people have there own thoughts in what they see. Instead of mine. Thank you for your comment.
The leaky ones were gross, but that one with the major blowout was disgusting! Glad I'm being cremated. I loved this walkabout with you. That large one with half the wall in coloured glass blocks was amazing. I see the dates of the dearly departed and wonder what life would have been like back then, or what changes they saw in their lifetimes. Noticed quite a few vacancies among all these! Cheers from Australia.
I very much thankful for your nice comment. Some of it was pretty gross for sure. Im glad you enjoys it. I will be visiting more soon. Send Australia my best wishes
@@frankreynoldsnh4798 awww cool looking forward to it. There is something so soothing and calming about this place and you dont say much which is really humbling and in tune with the vid. Thanks for the response 😊👍
I know it sounds gross, but I wish someone had a you tube on decomposition on a time table, I think alot would think twice on interns like this, I finally decided on cremation. My mom was the first ever a few yeara back, I was shocked....Now it's so much neater. THe masoleums are beautiful.
Eternal rest Grant unto them O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them may their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace Amen.
So many of these mausoleums are, obviously, of Italian people, if not all. Even in death we are just so stereotypical and EXTRA about things. I'd bet the regular graves are of more mixed company and its mainly just the Italians with the mausoleums here. I think it's precious. My mother's maiden name is "Barsotti".
Most of the graves not all of them are mostly Italian and Sicilian descent. Most of my family and friends are buried in St Michael's cemetery which is where you're seeing all these mausoleums which is a part of Forest hills cemetery. If I'm correct I think this is the first and oldest Italian cemetery in America could be wrong
I enjoy your video's I do wish you would linger a bit longer on the death and birth dates...I like to figure how old ther were when they died...good work...
Some real problems with construction, leaky tombs due to lack of proper drainage & ventilation. Poor overall construction with leaking roofs = a very expensive disaster
Great work in filing this.......but it is gruesome to let the dead rot above the ground....the living neighbors next door over must wonder where is that smell coming from.....not knowing that putrid liquid human remains are leaking out from those little stone houses in the cemetery.......any idea who came up with this style of burial???
Lots of Italian people in them. Not sure if it's a italian style or not. You know I also wonder about what people think of fuilds and gas leakin from the cemetery. I would not accept a glass of water from any who lives near a cemetery.
@@frankreynoldsnh4798 You took the words out of my mouth......and you would have to pay me to sleep over in any one of those houses abutting the cemetery.....thanks but no thanks.....

Good question. Well I think they picked it out before they died. But if you are claustrophobic... Might want to rethink your final resting place. Thanks for the comment.
Just an FYI, the shelves you see at the back of a family mausoleum, usually with a stained glass window, was used for the sole purpose of a Catholic priest to offer the Mass of the Dead for the repose of the soul of the deceased. These shelves/“altars”were not for the purpose of holding trinkets, pictures, statues, or fake flowers but for the perpetual offering of Holy Mass for the dead. Families would pay a stipend to their parish priest for the offering of holy mass inside the mausoleum yearly. Unfortunately, the novus ordo heresy obliterated the Mass for the Dead and finding a Catholic priest to offer Mass inside a mausoleum is now next to impossible.
Yes I believe so. This is a Italian are. I believe there is mob members placed here to rest. Might do a video on that. But that's lots of research. Thank you for comment. Have a good day.
Every soul shall taste death In the Quran, God promises, “Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned” (29:57). On the Day of Judgment, every individual will be resurrected to account for their lives.
See you got me, I thought you are a soul when you shed off your physical makeup (that is you already died) and so how can "Every soul will taste death?" Please clarify.
Frank, I think you'd have more viewers and subscribers if your titles and descriptions were posted in better English. I normally wouldn't have clicked on this one (*mausoleums) because I thought it was foreign and would probably have computer-voice narration. Your video is great, which I wasn't expecting.
This was the most beautiful video. Thank you for sharing this special look inside of these monuments

It looks like these Italians value both life, and death. Quite well maintained.
27:50 all those letters someone wrote to their lost loved one :(

Must of been a busy few years. Thank you for your comment.
You didn't check your local flyers? They were on sale for "buy 1 and get 1 for 1/2 price" and if you pay off with cash you would get 10% discount....

I wonder how much a mausoleum like that would set one back? They seem prefabricated...
They are about $200,000 - $500,000 depending on what stone you want.
