  • Did you ever hear someone say "Maybe it is the aftertreatment fuel block" when you have aftertreatment temp problems. After watching this you will understand what the block is and what to check on it and how it functions.

Thanks for this video. I didn’t know about this assembly until now. They must be normally pretty durable. I’ve been maintaining a fleet of about 12 of these platforms and have not had a problem, yet. Now I am armed with knowledge about it. Thanks a million. 👍🏻

They are reliable. Even if the check valves start to leak a bit it has to get pretty bad before it faults out and regen is locked out by faults.

all of the engines in our fleet are ISL 2250 & 2350. They dont have this block nor a fuel supply to the turbo. How does the system properly regen without injecting fuel into the exhaust?

It washes out the back cylinders of the engine😂

Steve's humor is much appreciated and he is correct on the B6.7 and the ISL, ISC, L9 they all fire cylinders 4,5,6 on exhaust stroke to send atomized fuel into the aftertreatment. So think about this. If those engines start regenning every 8 hours or less because something is wrong you can get fuel in the oil. It will show up on a sample.

@@ENGINESHOPJOE Thank you for the explanation. I do appreciate it and explains a lot regarding common issues that I see. I work on transit buses. Constant stop n go city traffic, never completing regens until they get a check engine light and it gets to me lol. I see a lot of the 2250 pre-scr systems commonly having fuel dilution issues.. the later 2250/2350 with def and regen issues. Thanks again. Appreciate your channel
