Thanks Kendall!! Without your demo and wise advice I would have been in trouble!! Thanks again.

I had echos of my Dad when you said, "Don't do as I do. Do as I say". LOL Your final quilt is really pretty using sashing and cornerstone between the blocks. That added element really makes the secondary pattern pop. Thanks, Kendall!

Thank you. I didn’t have enough fabric to make it as over the pattern. I also find a lot of these quilts are too small. I added the sashing in an attempt to make it larger. I posted an image to my Facebook that shows how I used the cut always for the border. I just couldn’t toss that much waste away.

That's a lot of sew and flips! I also save them. Several of my friends (?) save them for me too. I have all different sizes and color combinations. One day, they will magically turn into something! Your block is very pretty

Paradise park is beautiful. Great choice, Kendall 😊
Thanks for introduction. I was confused when I saw the pattern in first place.
By the way, my favorite mani color 😉

So happy I tuned in since I am using Paradise Park as well, which is what I had on hand too. It really helps to see your color choices that have now become my color choices! Thank you and thanks for your tips and advice…always helpful!! 👍

That's so beautiful! I can't wait to get started! You make it look easy. I'm glad to see you use the folded corner ruler. I have the one from antler design. This is going to be a great sew along! Thanks for sharing your skills and humor 😅

Thanks, Kendall! I am like you, I either use my folded corner clipper or use my Accuquilt to cut the appropriate size HSTs, so I only have half the cutaways to deal with. I really do think the sew and flip method is a conspiracy to make us buy more fabric! 😂 When I looked at the fabric requirements for a Shelley Cavanna quilt I choked! This quilt pattern seems to have been made much more complicated than necessary-seems to me if it had been designed with on point construction with sashing and corner stones it would have had a LOT less sew and flips…but maybe I’m wrong. There would still be the square in square in the center but that could be done with HSTs if you don’t mind the seams. Only the outside triangle units would have to be sew and flipped onto a larger triangle. (Sorry, I like to recompute quilts to how I would prefer to sew them!) I do like how this quilt looks but not sure I want to deal with the sew and flips. Thanks for showing me that this one isn’t for me before I invested in the pattern. I love your paradise park version tho!

I also like to re-engineer blocks, but usually to reduce the number if seams. I guess that would make me part of the conspiracy. Hehe

Your demonstration block is very pretty but this quilt has way too much waste for me. I want to reduce my contribution to what is in the massive landfills that the world has.
