If you are a ultras football fan for example, who is throwing flares on the soccer field, ripp out chairs and throw them on the other people, people say you're a d*ck but no one bully you further or make fun of you for painting your entire face with your favorite team's colors... But being a fluffy adorable fur who makes some people laugh out of the sense of joy when they see you, when they see how cheerful you are, how colorful is your suit, but there are still people bullying you and calling you names... :-( In my book, those two are hobbies on the equal level. So yeah, we have to choose very very carefully to who we unveil our furry selves. Its not good, its not ideal but that's the way it is for the time being. I'm happy to hear that you found the courage to step back into the fandom (If I understood you correctly.). I sincerely hope you'll have much better overall experience this time! I'm trying to learn ASL to help people who are deaf! Not only in the fandom, but in regular places as well, such as in a restaurant or at a store! My first encounter with someone deaf was at an ice skating rink, a teen a bit older then me fell and I helped them up and asked if they were ok. They dragged me to their parents and explained that they were deaf! It was pretty difficult to understand them, but we skated around and had fun none the less. This encounter stayed in my head and I didnt do much about it until recently, where I finally decided that I should learn how to help!
