  • HOW TO SANITIZE YOUR RV FRESH WATER TANK
👉Star brite 32300 Aqua Clean Water Tank Flush - Gallon
    amzn.to/2V5TNJo
Your RV's tanks need to be in proper working order for you to be able to enjoy camping to its fullest, especially the freshwater system. The freshwater system on your RV not only needs to work right, but it needs to be clean, too. Without a clean freshwater system, you're asking for a trip filled with illness. Like any other part of your RV, your freshwater system needs to be cleaned.
Each year, usually in the spring, when you get your RV out of storage, you should sanitize the freshwater system. It might sound like a hassle, but the last thing you want to do is have unhealthy water in your freshwater tank due to lack of sanitation.
The Steps to Sanitize Your Freshwater System
    Features
Excellent for use after storage or winterization to completely flush system
Use periodically to prevent foul taste and odors.
One gallon treats 100 gallons of tank capacity.
    Directions
    1) Remove all water from tank and system by turning on water pump, opening tank drain valves and opening all faucets and shower heads.
    2) After system has fully drained, turn off water pump, close all valves and faucets and shower heads.
    3) Add fresh water to tank to fill it approximately 1/2 full.
    4) Add appropriate amount of AQUA Water Tank & System Flush required for full tank capacity (1 gallon for each 100 gallons of tank capacity).
    5) Add fresh water until tank is full.
    6) Move boat or RV several times in order to disperse Water Tank & System Flush throughout water.
    7) Turn on water pump and open all faucets and shower heads, keeping them open and flowing for about 3 minutes.
    8) Close all faucets and shower heads and turn off water pump.
    9) Allow the treated water to remain in the system for approximately 30 minutes, then turn on the water pump and open all fixtures, allowing them to flow freely for about 3 minutes before closing them and turning off the water pump.
    10) Open the tank drain valves to completely drain the tank, which will now be clean and deodorized.
    11) Close the valve and fill the tank with fresh water.
    12) Turn on water pump and open all water fixtures to allow water to flow freely for a few minutes to remove Water Tank & System Flush from water lines. To prevent water from picking up taste or smell from tank walls or pipes, use AQUA Water System Conditioner. To maintain water quality, treat it with AQUA Water Treatment & Freshener every time you add water to the tank.

Hi there and thanks so much for watching. This particular solution is perfectly harmless and can be drained anywhere. We have a drain at our house so we just emptied there. Some also drain at their campsite if allowed. Others will drain while they drive a backroad and slower speeds. Draining at home is probably easiest though if you can do it.

What about the hot water tank. Should you fill it with the treated water? No one has gone through that in several different videos I have watched. Or should one drain the hot water tank and remove the plug and let it air out for a while.

Thanks for your video on sanitizing the rv fresh water tank. We are new to rv life, and really needed this. Im also wanting to know how to sanitize the city water tank lines. Or does this take care of both at the same time.

    • @adventuresofjandk
      @adventuresofjandk  2 місяці тому +1

Hello and thanks for watching. This would take care of issues with any lines within the trailer. As far as cleaning city water tank lines that is a whole other beast and I have no idea how that would be done unfortunately. Since we don’t drink any water without filtering it we haven’t thought about that.

Since I'm a newby, I don't know how the two are connected. And, we haven't ever boondocked before, to use the Freshwater tank. We do use Tastepure Water Filter, when using campground water. However, we do winterize our rv with antifreeze, and de-winterize in the spring. Surely, there is a way to insure that we are drinking safe water, other than than the water filter.Obviously, I have alot to learn.

I don’t know about that specifically. This is direct from their website.

Thank you for the video! Question - where do you drain the 80 gallons of water at the campsite (draining the solution then flushing it once)? Do you just let it out right under your trailer? Doesn't that make a huge mess?

    • @adventuresofjandk

Hi Stacie. That is a fantastic question. We are lucky in that we have a drain spot at our home so it’s easy for us. Nice part about this specific product is it’s not harmful to the environment so just draining it is ok but to your point could make for a muddy spot. Many will open the fresh water tank as they travel. Again it’s 100% safe so no issue there. Hope that helps. Safe Travels.
