    I bought a Skeletool CX for my father as a birthday gift... From what I see it’s completely changed his perception of plier-based multi-tools as being practical yet bulky items. For something this compact it offers some awesome capabilities. Great video as always, subscribed✅

    Your side-by-side with the Wave and Juice made for a good summary of my EDC progression: Wave - too big, Juice - too small, Skeletool - just right. I also carry a Style PS or CS in a small pouch with some other items so I have some scissors when needed. Now the Wave stays in my car, and the Juice stays in a small day pack.

    Ive had Leatherman tools since about 1987 and ive a few! I bought the Skeletool when it came out, that was the standard version. I didn't take to it and replaced it with a juice s2! I recently got a Skeletool CX as a warranty replacement for a Leatherman knife with bit holder , cant remember the name off hand? But Leatherman gave me two options Skeletool or Sidekick? It was a no brainer? I cheekily asked for the black version and they agreed! Well i have carried it daily for the three months owned and i love this thing! Its all i need on me most of the time and the 154cm blade is awesome. Changed out a bit for the combo flat/philips and use it more than i would have imagined? I think this is one of Leathermans best products along with Rebar Wave and surge!!!

    These are hard to find right now in Canada, but I've been eyeballing these for a while now and finally picked one up from MEC. It appears to be a revision, manufactured date of Dec 2020. The carbon fiber is replaced with a matte black material and there are some small structural changes to the frame, pocket clip plier head and blade. Barely noticeable unless you compare them side by side. I haven't seen anything official from Leatherman about the revision however.

But i have a charge plus, and out of the box, the main blade as well as serrated blade have a slight but of wiggle or “play” out the box. @@txtoolcrib Thanks! Appreciate the feedback. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger and give it a try. I always check out your videos before I purchase a new multitool or blade and you've always been very resourceful for me. Listening to you and how much you liked the Surge convinced me into getting a Surge as my work EDC. I've used other multitools over the years but I think the Surge is by far the best so far. I complimented it with a bit kit, extension and ratchet and man what a game changer. In my profession, aircraft mechanic, we get called out for last minute repairs by the crews sometimes when the aircraft is close to departure so your immediately under time constraints and not having to get into my tool bag all the time helps a lot plus during normal day to day having it on me is just great. It's my new best friend ;) Just having that extra versatility I have with it is a definite bonus. Anyway, thanks again, look forward to your future stuff. I'll let you know how the CX works out for me.

    Would be perfect for a pocket carry only for the unnecessary carabiner /bottle opener - no need for either and take up too much real estate. Spend a lot of time working in dirty conditions with a Tyvec white overalls with track suit /leisure bottoms underneath. I need something light to clip into pocket and currently carry a Gerber lockdown drive.... But it doesn't have a pliers.
    This would be an ideal solution but..... That carabiner/bottle opener upsets me as does the price - they cost 118 euros over here.

      @txtoolcrib  5 років тому +2

      I actually wasn’t sure because I had never tried it. The bit extended cannot be used with the tool in the closed position because the frame will not pass the thicker extension. However, it does fit the Skeletool series well. When used in either the open or pistol grip formation, it works quite nicely. Really centers pretty well and greatly extended the reach of the driver. I also found that the extension fits quite nicely in the change pocket of my jeans. I like the idea of carrying the extension with this particular tool. I really think it increases it’s functionality.

    Big downside is no can opener.

      @Brian C: sorry, if one doesn’t know how to use a knife as a can opener… they should not venture into the outdoors. 😝

    Another 20.00$ you can get a Wave.

      True, but not with the same quality blade.

      I got my Wave for $39.99 at Walmart and would gladly trade it for the Skeletool. The Wave is highly redundant to the Swiss Army Knife I carry daily.

      Wow, that’s a good price. A clearance item I assume.

      That’s unfortunate. Sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with this multi tool.

      It’s all relative I guess. How much are you willing to spend on a good knife is the question you have to ask yourself.

    Too heavy. Hangs down in my back pocket and the pocket clip makes it hang weird, might as well just use my Wave instead that has all the tools I need and might need

      I like this one though, not for me personally, but for someone who likes a more minimalist carry. Great blade on this one.

  • @Vickz818
    @Vickz818 3 роки тому

    Feel like this multi tool is overpriced. Pliers aren’t very good, and the wire cutters aren’t either. It would of been much better if it had wingman like pliers and cutters.

  • @timbest3868
    @timbest3868 Рік тому

    I have one. Total garbage. Bulky and heavy. Frame twists with little effort. Screw bits fall out. The blade is the only redeeming feature. Buy a nicer knife for half the price.
