Your side-by-side with the Wave and Juice made for a good summary of my EDC progression: Wave - too big, Juice - too small, Skeletool - just right. I also carry a Style PS or CS in a small pouch with some other items so I have some scissors when needed. Now the Wave stays in my car, and the Juice stays in a small day pack.
Ive had Leatherman tools since about 1987 and ive a few! I bought the Skeletool when it came out, that was the standard version. I didn't take to it and replaced it with a juice s2! It was a no brainer? I cheekily asked for the black version and they agreed! Well i have carried it daily for the three months owned and i love this thing! Its all i need on me most of the time and the 154cm blade is awesome. Changed out a bit for the combo flat/philips and use it more than i would have imagined? I think this is one of Leathermans best products along with Rebar Wave and surge!!!
I have the CX and love it. For what I do for work these days I don’t need my Surge on a daily basis so the CX is just what I need and nothing I don’t. I carry it in a Kydex sheath on my belt and the weight is minimal.
I started carrying a Skeletool w/ Bit Kit as a contractor at Camp Libery, Baghdad. I recently replaced the original blade with a 154CM blade to that very same tool 15 years later.
My Skeletool CX is my edc outside of work. And its replaced my kitchen pairing knives lol, the blade is perfect and hold and edge very well. For bigger knife tasks i carry a Hinderer Xm18 in my other pocket. But the Surge and the Crunch are my 2 favourite Leatherman tools. Good Review
TX Tool Crib it really has a very nice blade. The carbon fiber doesn’t make much of a difference functionally, but I really love it because my car has carbon, as well. Very matchy-matchy. Haha!

These are hard to find right now in Canada, but I've been eyeballing these for a while now and finally picked one up from MEC. It appears to be a revision, manufactured date of Dec 2020. The carbon fiber is replaced with a matte black material and there are some small structural changes to the frame, pocket clip plier head and blade. Barely noticeable unless you compare them side by side. I haven't seen anything official from Leatherman about the revision however.
I bought my CX on this review which I lost this spring, three weeks of looking for it and I finally bought another one. Fast forward a month I found my original sitting on top of my furnace...I should have a lifetime of Skeletools😅
Just picked this up for a friend and am breaking it in for them. Love the knife and it's size the only issue I have with it is that the bit keeps digging into my palm but I have very big hands and my friend doesn't so I don't think it'll be a problem.
Thank you. I’m actually trying to play catch-up, because I have to hit the road again soon and will not be able to get as many reviews out as I would like. I might be dormant for a bit but I will definitely be back.

I think there are a lot of options out there that don’t include an integrated cap lifter to choose from. I like that there are a couple that actually do have it integrated.
Then you would have something more like the old Freestyle, although it also lacked the bit driver. I find the bottle opener provides for a better grip since the tool really isn’t that big.

Would be perfect for a pocket carry only for the unnecessary carabiner /bottle opener - no need for either and take up too much real estate. I need something light to clip into pocket and currently carry a Gerber lockdown drive.... But it doesn't have a pliers. This would be an ideal solution but..... That carabiner/bottle opener upsets me as does the price - they cost 118 euros over here.
Leatherman should do a new "Skeletool," but this time actually make it lightweight. There's hardly anything on the Skeletool, yet it weighs almost as much as the Rebar, which has many more tools. There needs to be a multitool answer to the Benchmade Bugout.
I also thought so but at 145grams players are on the edge, knife is ok and bit holder is strong and reliable. So if they ripp off 40grams that is 100grams tool but I don't think that it could handle work like he can now ,I also cary 940 Osborne and it has 65grams its nothing but I cary Litle Squirt PS4 on keys for emergency.
Hey guys. The latest version of Skeletool CX doesn't have carbon insert anymore... Someone knows why? Money saving? Marketing? Leatherman piss me off...
I actually wasn’t sure because I had never tried it. The bit extended cannot be used with the tool in the closed position because the frame will not pass the thicker extension. However, it does fit the Skeletool series well. When used in either the open or pistol grip formation, it works quite nicely. Really centers pretty well and greatly extended the reach of the driver. I also found that the extension fits quite nicely in the change pocket of my jeans. I like the idea of carrying the extension with this particular tool. I really think it increases it’s functionality.

Feel like this multi tool is overpriced. Pliers aren’t very good, and the wire cutters aren’t either. It would of been much better if it had wingman like pliers and cutters.
I have one. Total garbage. Bulky and heavy. Frame twists with little effort. Screw bits fall out. The blade is the only redeeming feature. Buy a nicer knife for half the price.

plyers are weak easy to break like the blade lock but its lightweight and got a best bottle opener of every multy tool swiss army knife 15 years no problem this boroke in 3 month at least i got a replacement
That’s unfortunate. Sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with this multi tool.
Painfull hand pushing the handle, definitely for lighter usage....
too expensive though.
It’s all relative I guess. How much are you willing to spend on a good knife is the question you have to ask yourself.
0:08 so thats last life time and gift it grandson. wait 100% you buy other lol.. so this is not your alltime fav lol
i hear the pliers are shit and break easy usally the first use lol
Too heavy. Hangs down in my back pocket and the pocket clip makes it hang weird, might as well just use my Wave instead that has all the tools I need and might need
I like this one though, not for me personally, but for someone who likes a more minimalist carry. Great blade on this one.
