I live near Wrexham and they are the only big team nearby, they are inspiring so many people in my local area to start playing football, I believe that their story is truly inspirational. Managing to bring 4600 fans all the way from Wrexham to Sheffield is a massive feat, especially for a national league side. I’ve enjoyed this channel for a while now but don’t agree with this opinion. That’s all from me, hwyl fawr.

Also. I worked in a town that died when the mine shut down. No jobs. No hope. This story of revival after hitting bottom is a great story. I wish it had happened to my town.
I think the point is they spend far more money than any other team in the league, and more money than most teams in the two leagues above. Yet it’s labelled as some sort of fairytale ‘underdog’ story. It’s great for Wrexham that they are getting all this investment, but they aren’t underdogs.

We were then saved by fans who literally poured life savings, loans, mortgages etc. into the club and have since spent 15 years outside the football league (longest serving club) despite having a huge following. Our books/finances taken a long time to recover and have thanks to the hard work of our supporters trust. We’ve then won the owner lottery with Rob and Ryan who have poured money into us believing they can restore a club that represents all of North Wales and possibly now even further afield with their stardom attached. Our story didn’t start with them buying the club - we’re a sleeping giant who needed the right owners who believed in the project.
When Wrexham were in whats now League 1 they had a new owner who tried to destroy the club to sell off all of its assets. It took years for the club, and hundreds of thousands of pounds from the supporters who bought the club back to save it, to get itself back on an even keel. Their new training ground and own stadium had been sold off with the money pocketed by the owner. Years of playing in the National League came as a result. McElheney and Reynolds coming in and putting money into the club really is a fairy tale after years and years of suffering caused deliberately by a greedy owner.

As a city fan, it's annoying when people associate Man City and PSG with oil money more often than not. It’s one of the few interesting conversations going on in the sport right now. It’s an interesting journey they’re on and they have a lot of people rooting for them. I like a lower league club is getting media attention rather than the constant focus on the big six, it’s another reason I’m enjoying Newcastle and Brighton coverage recently, hell even Burnley in a way are fun to hear about in the media.

@@joeutm212 the thing is we are not the first team in the NL to buy our way out. The likes of Crawley, Fleetwood, Forest Green and Salford had backing and got promoted. Even Newport had a bloody lottery winner backing them and I don’t remember people kicking off at the likes of those clubs. This is not an expensive toy for the owners they are here for the foreseeable.

Also as a lower league fan I’ve heard so many people moaning about Salford forest green and Crawley, there’s just less in the media for obvious reasons. We were asset stripped by previous ownership (not mentioned in the documentary) and we’re left to die until the fans stepped in. Fan ownership didn’t work we had no money, made poor decisions and were heading for the national league north a couple of years ago. We have achieved nothing as of yet until we get promotion. I would prefer we focus on matters on the pitch rather than the media circus as we desperately need promotion this year.

Grimsby deserves far more attention than they're actually getting. We are actually a league 2 budget team, we beat Wrexham in the play offs, we beat 3 league 1 teams and a championship team, but we bearly get 5 minutes of media attention.
