Damn, I literally just finished this series yesterday. Perfect timing. Anyway, my overall thoughts on this anime was that it was ok. It's obviously not as good as Zero or UBW, but I didn't feel like my time was wasted and I'm actually glad I watched it. I loved the little callbacks and references to past fate characters, like a young Medea in Atlanta's flashback and caster switching between a normal face and the crazy bird eye shit near the end. However, the show felt really uneven. For example, what they did with Atalanta and Karna was really underwhelming and disappointing, however on the flip side what they did with Jack the Ripper was really cool and actually really well executed. Another example is the fact that I loved Vlad the Impaler's character (although I'll admit I might be biased because he was my topic for 2 different research papers I did a while back), but all the fights with him were really underwhelming. The context for his fight as a vampire was really great, but the fight itself was bland. And then we have Chiron and Achilles who I thought were kind of bland, but their final fight was really good. My final example was that I thought Frankenstein had a really good end to her character that felt complete, but on the flip side Avicibron was a cool, character that had a really underwhelming conclusion. Fate/Apocrypha had a lot of really great ideas, but sadly only about 20% of them landed well. In my opinion, if this series focused on Jeanne d'Arc instead, it would have been way better. A lot of people give Shiro a lot of shit for being a terrible protagonist (which i understand, but personally thought was great), but Sieg is easily one if the worst protagonists I've seen in a while. Then Shiro Kotomine and Semiramis just felt like generic bad guy. I will admit, Semiramis was good as a character, but as one of the big bads, it was wasted potential. At least her final fight against Mordred was pretty good. And I will admit I it was clever how Shiro Amakusa turned out to actually be a real life famous Japanese priest/Samurai. However, compared to say Gilgamesh and Kirei, hell even Medea, he wasn't that good of an antagonist. The masters were also incredibly bland, except for Shishigo, but I once again may be biased because I was already used to him since he appeared in the Lord el-melloi case files spin-off as an important side character. As for the other servants, Astolfo was great, Shakespeare was surprisingly fun, and Jeanne d'Arc was actually pretty great, despite the writers not using her as best as they could. Her romance with Sieg was really forced and I think they could have done a lot more with bringing Gilles de Rais faced to face with her, because she was technically the reason he went insane and became a child killer, albeit very indirectly. There are a lot of other things I could talk about, like how Mordred, Darnic, and Siegfried felt wasted, but I'll leave it as this. I would personally give Fate/Apocrypha a 5/10 for writing and a 7.5/10 for simple enjoyment.
I dropped apocrypha. It felt like I was watching bad fanfiction with clear self-insert mary sues. Didn't help that the animation was horrible for the first bit. Considering that Apocrypha can more or less mean fanfiction, I should've seen it coming.
Fate apocrypha is honestly not a very good anime in terms of characterization. If you want to get the full experience then you should read the novels. I haven’t but I plan to in the future. Much like “Stay/Night” has its own visual novel that goes into anime, the new fate spin-offs have actual physical books. The anime couldn’t cover too much due to time constraints. For example the Achilles and Atalanta relationship. It goes into the reason why he cares about her so much. She was his childhood hero.

I feel the same with regards to the overall score, there were a lot of characters who had potential and could've been better
It's bloody confusing.
Can you talk about Kaitou Joker?
You’re the second person to ask me to talk about that series so it looks like I gotta check it out
Apocrypha was pretty cool but bro YOU NEED TO WATCH ALL 3 HEAVENS FEEL MOVIES

So you could call the first video “fate zero”?
LOL I guess so
Hello I’m the first comment ☺️
Hello 👋
Astalfo's only remembered because of cross dressing and Mordrid was pretty good

Oh ok maybe I’ll check out the books at some point then
