      @aaronsondag8347 22 дні тому +5

      You can thank Obama for that crap. Before the government got involved health insurance was at least affordable for most people. Afterwards it went up drastically for most people. My mother was the one who got our health insurance for a family of 4 for less than $400 a month before the government got involved, afterwards it went up to $1,400 a month. This was not the companies choice to do that either, it was the health insurance company that forced it and her boss even paid more out of the company money to help keep it lower than the health insurance company wanted to make it. Oh and they got less coverage but everyone still had to pay more.

I see more than ever people down sizing living off the grid living in tiny homes buying campers rvs vans cars etc….yes extremely comfortable lifestyles will change maybe but it may be a good thing for change….. and this new way of companies hiring in this manner people will not do this long term and their turn over will be higher and a lot of low morale!! As someone who was performing maintenance all day, they'll just make you do 8-10 hours of work in a 4-5 hour day and pay you half. When you only get half the workload done, they'll complain and threaten to fire you. That's when you start a side business for the remaining 6 hours you could have worked and put them out of business. 😂

    Fractional Hiring=Part time employees, plain and simple. They don't have to pay you any benefits and you do twice the work as an 8 hour employee. Maybe they should fractionalize their CEO's who make all the big bucks. No CEO's work is worth the amount of money they make. These Corporations and their CEO's are beginning to remind me of Government. SMH...what the hell are people supposed to live on.

I wouldn't work a part time job ever, it's a complete rip off doing so. The business doesn't have to provide benefits to part time workers. Let these greedy corporations fall by the way side.

    My friends are working merchandising, stocking of shelves for a particular product or a particular chain of stores. After hiring, they work through an app, accepting certain assignments during specific hours. They go in, stock what is required and take pictures to submit of the stock before & after. Sometimes they may need a signature of a store manager to show completion. Often they can accept or deny available assignments according to their own schedules ahead of time, thus creating schedules around school, other jobs, or children's Dr appointments etc.

When big box discount stores began in the 70s, most could not, and still can’t get full time hours, and not paid (and not getting overtime for the isolated extended shift) and not beni’d as a full timer. Hospitals were, and still are notorious for staffing this way.

      Makes me think you have various issues
      1) a lot of unskilled work , warehouse work and even service related work are doing this on many sectors to save costs and remove benefits ( from dollar store to Amazon to even banks )
      2) DEI and No discrimination clauses … should have been enough to level the playing field but I’m under the impression …that any minority in any position bothers you ….even with degrees and certifications w years of experience
      ….so as this country demographic changes what do you think is best for the work force ??

      @Shineynsparkles what does skin color have to do with it? Dei is a very big problem. Quality of service is what is needed. Does not make a difference who it is as long as they are the best at it. Dei is against quality of service. Dei is political equity not equality. Communism is not a good thing. It tears down society not build it up. Make the best effort and get the best work or don't complain about what is not being 'given' to you. We don't need weak slackers.

    To most companies, employees are just asset the company has. No different than a vehicle, computer, or desk, although an expensive asset. An employee is also a liability to a company. They are expensive and if able to be replaced with a newer and cheaper model, the company will. Look at WalMart with self checkouts. They saved millions in payroll expenses by eliminating cashier positions. The human element rarely enters the decision making process, when it comes to employees. Maybe 75 years ago they did. But today's new crop (boomers & younger) of executives rarely consider this. It's all a numbers things.

    I must agree white collar office work has never been productive for more than 3-4 hours on a typical 8 hour day. Many hours are wasted by checking their phones, chatting during coffee breaks, sitting thru meetings, daydreaming etc. Gets worse at higher management levels.

    Well, there always was the casual. part time, or seasonal positions when I worked, so many people had two or three of those types of jobs that they had to juggle to make ends meet. Kind of just a new approach on this concept of being employed these days.

    I am now wondering about fractional employees. Will they be able to get unemployment on reduced work week hours?

  • @dave3657
    @dave3657 Місяць тому

    As long as a company can hire two people to work twenty hours each, verses one person for forty hours they will. They get the same amount of work without paying benefits.
    This started when the government stepped in and forced companies to pay the benefits over thirty two hours a week. Before this people would work forty hours plus overtime.
    Now people are forced into holding several jobs to get enough hours to make ends meet.
    In certain fields though, like engineering, medical, educational you find that this is not the case.
    Jobs that take longer times to train for, have more hours and benefits compared to those jobs that have a short training time.

    I call this the McD's model/each restaurant may have 2 dozen employees but they only schedule each employee for a few hours a week and if they lose an employee or two a week, they just bump up the hours of another until they hire more victims and in this fashion they always have enough people to cover their shifts but without providing them benefits.

    I’d say fraction hiring is okay if that’s how they want to do things, but they’ll have to give all benefits at 10hrs worked instead of 40. These buisness think they are so smart but if they want to change something that it will impact them negatively I retaliation.
