Something a little different in my 'Spain Abandoned' series, not too far from where I live but far enough. Hope you enjoy the video, many thanks for watching :)

♥♥ I stumbled upon your video after I found very, very little information on the internet about where exactly the crash sites are. I guess the maps you show at 1:20 can be found locally at Palomares?? It is amazing that the US & Spain kept this so quiet... 😞Some more info can be found at "The Nuclear Disaster You Never Heard of by John Howard". Personally, I would not come near the site; contamination levels (risk of human cancer depending on duration and dose) talk about 0.0001 parts per million; Plutonium is nasty stuff and is there to stay for the next 100 thousands of years (Pu239 halflife=24.100 year...)! Thanks for the video!

Thank you Peter, the areas are not marked and the signage very poor, if any. You can see the machines that collect the data dotted around the town and amazed so much new buildings going on and farming is not covered. Talk about a cover up and it's here and the US have a lot to answer for but seems they have also washed their hands of it. Even in the UK (Greenham Common) another where a US aircraft crashed on landing and thankfully didn't explode! We live in a world of fake news.

indeed... Now more than ever more important to filter the correct/true news than to find news... Thanks! take care

Interesting Shaun, thanks for putting it together. If I remember correctly the US Ambassador to Spain went for a swim to prove the waters were not a problem. The sand however… different story at the time. Keep well matey. 👍

Wow Shaun that was great to learn that. I never knew that happened. What a terrible accident. I guess like you say lucky no casualties on the ground. They need better fencing and warning signs. As for those people that go exploring over the broken fence sections… well maybe one day they’ll work why their shoes glow in the dark now 😂 Amazing info mate. Thanks for sharing this 👍🙏

Thank you Adrian, glad you enjoyed the video, I heard about this a few years ago but didn’t know how dangerous it could have been. Thankfully my shoes don’t glow in the dark, yet! Many thanks for watching 👍🇪🇸

I actually visited Palomares a couple of weeks ago to see the fenced-off bomb sites, where it's still considered too dangerous to go. Officially there is no-one in Palomares who has any symptoms of radiation poisoning... (if you believe that). Also, there has still not been any agreed action between the USA and Spain about properly removing the radioactive Plutonium & Americium that is still there.

Thank you Mike, interesting to see hardly any proper signs warning people of the dangers even thou there is monitoring equipment around the town and looks like the US wont remove the rest from the area. Many thanks for watching.

Yo he pasado por allí muchas veces y ya no hay ningún peligro porque las hortalizas y verduras se cultivan allí normalmente
