@@L33Reacts And the song right before this one was "Play" which was another high energy piece (you should check it out as well). They closed the Line Cube Shibuya show The one this vid was taken from) with "Endless Story" which was an anthemic stadium rock ballad (well sorta ballad). That has become their go to semi-closer for the last couple of tours. They'll play Endless Story then No God to close shows.
Not sure how deep you are into their catalog but I envy you as I wish I was back in my first few months of discovering BAND-MAID. What an exhilarating and intoxicating experience starting down the pigeon hole. 🔥😎
@@jkkansasband7056 I've heard half a dozen or so songs. Domination, Onset ,and Thrill are the only ones I can name without looking. So far Thrill is my favorite from them. Band maid is excellent , but Nemophila and LOVEBITES are still my favorite Japanese bands.
Japanese female BEST drummers Haruna(Lovebites), Akane(Band-Maid), Murata Tamu(Nemophila), Junna/Nagisa(Trident-Japan), Sae/Chika(Hanabie), Noa(Maximum The Hormon), and 2 female drummer from Gacharic Spin.... Watch JUNNA drum cover Pain Killer(Judas Priest), Dragon Force songs, Iron Maiden songs...
Band-maid has to be one of the hardest working bands on the planet. There isn't much they do that isn't near 100% perfect. And the magic occurs when they're in front of an audience. Check out Band-Maid's live feed of "Dice - Hate?" at Lollapalooza 2023 and you'll see the five of them having the time of their lives putting on an incredible performance.
As a drummer, I think you would really like to react to their live video of 'Freedom'. Akane does an extended drum solo. She is so good. A true 'musical drummer'. We are blessed to be living in "The Time Of The Maids".
Your "wall of sound" comment sounds familiar! My immediate impression upon playing the first Unseen World CD was "they've perfected their wall of sound". I recall that term being applied to Kiss back in the mid-70's. They were my first favorite band...the torch has been passed to my current favorite.
You know what? The more I listen, the more I find something new in their music, which is just pure joy for me. Especially Kanami's guitar work, because her guitar sound is always very low in the mix. It is like a treasure hunt😉!
If you ever get the chance, you should watch this entire concert. This was the 2nd to last song that night, and they gained more steam with every song.
Yes, the Ladies have their own version of the "Wall of Sound" completely different from Phil Spector's version. While Spector's wall of sound was due to the limitations of mono recording in the 50's and 60's, the Ladies "Wall of Sound" is all down to a very polite, shy Japanese musical genius named Kanami Tono, and her band mates. Their sound is uniquely theirs and instantly identifiable. And your video ends rather abruptly.
Being a drummer, I'm surprised I didn't find "Freedom" on your channel. This song has a great drum solo, but Akane goes next level in "Freedom". My favorite drum solo on the planet, and a full 30 seconds long, yet it fits in with the rest of the song seamlessly. Like all BM songs, it is all around awesome on top of the solo! BAND-MAID / FREEDOM (Official Live Video) ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html Not sure why, but her solo is not in most of their live performances. They need to use it on the U.S. tour, we eat that shit up!
Band Maid, the undefeated, undisputed Queens of Hard Rock Fusion Why not do a two-fer with your next reaction? Two songs that sound completely different, but are absolutely Band Maid: “From Now On,” and “Daydreaming,” official music videos
Your video ended as abruptly as some Band-Maid songs! Kanami writes their music, and I suspect her musical knowledge is very wide. She doesn't see the lines that other people draw around genres of music. She doesn't seem to care - just what sounds good, and like you said, what she wants to play.
If you know about the Tiny Hat you should no better than to talk while Kanami is "Speaking". Someone send him the T-Shirt. Try 'Play' or 'Freedom' LIVE from this same show, or 'Real Existence' LIVE from a different tour.
When you need a smile in your life just play a Band-Maid song, smiles are always included.
You ain't kidding bro... like instant serotonin right to the dome 👌
Happiest band in the World!
Well i guess you should check out the official live version of "Play" then which was the song just prior to "Domination". Go on i dare ya. 🤭Tee-hee :)
Not much of a challenge, Gary! Twist my arm, lol!
@@waynebenedict5785 Well i would but it's not as much fun when you actually offer me your arms in advance to twist to force you to listen to B-M.😏
@@GaryHolloway-810 Yeah, the easiest twist there is, lol!😆
I highly recommend Gary's even higher than my highly high recommendation... recommendation! 🤘😎🚬
@@TomClark-Futoura WHAAAAT!😮 Even higher than your highly high recommendation. Wow that's high:)
This was the next to last song in a 23 song set. And they could still deliver THIS level of intensity.
Are you serious? Wtf. That's crazy they were still going full force... that's real stamina right there dude 👌 😅

Haven't heard a lot from them yet myself, still working on it. But, It's Misa's bass that stands out to me.
dude she is absolutely ferocious with that thing.... should be classified as a deadly weapon LOL

The good reactors are singing, "hello, hello, hello.." by the third time around. Well done!
After Kanami finishes her last blazing solo, Saiki sings, "Our pulses race together." Indeed! Band-Maid. Domination. Nuff said! Thx, Lee!

If you feel like you want to fight someone, you should be listening to their latest MV "Shambles". It's precisely what that song is about!
They open their shows with this song now. This is their standard now.
What a goddamn opener huh?? This is such an energy filled song and gets the crowd involved. It's honestly genius to play it first.
Might I suggest the instrumental "Onset" live or "From now on" for more shredding and of course more Misa!

This band also sings instruments. Since everyone is the main character, the singing and performance must be intricately intertwined.

Interesting you say mathcore. They rarely stray from 4/4, but Akane goes nuts with the tuplets.
This is a classically great band! The Beatles or the Rolling Stones of the modern day! The great bands don't come along every day!
