When you do the reaction, please, please, please have the lyrics on. They are so beautiful and it comes from their hearts.
In an interview, Miku called that moment when she duet with Kanami in the middle of the song "my moment of death" - it's an extremely fast rythm part she's playing there and this is just before the last song of a two hours show! You can see she gives absolutely all that's left of her stamina, and even collapsing at the end (it's funny because when the camera switch to Akane, you suddenly see Miku's head reappear when she gets up).

They all do such an exceptional job as individual artists as well as a unit, and it all comes together in this beautiful mix of energy, talent, and happiness. You should do Daydreaming next. It has perhaps the best lead guitar play, and Kanami professed on stage that it is (one of) her favorite song. It is also a ballad, which you have not done by Band-Maid yet.
My most emotion provoking song is Puzzle (live version). After you are impressed with normal version, I recommend watching acoustic version of it as well.
Great reaction again my friend, always honest and heartfelt. Oh, that day of being disappointed with Band Maid will never come. In the contrary you are hooked now, like the thousands and thousands of us around the world, and as you delve deeper into their catalog your addiction will equally intensify. The appreciation for their talent will become even more pronounced. They are truly one of a kind in every sense and the world need to cherish them. Oh, and they are fabulous characters too as humans.
I’ve been listening to them for a few months and haven’t found a bad song yet. Another good live song is real existence. Moratorium as well. About us is a good ballad type song. If you want a throwback to 70’s epic rock, try dragon cries.

Band-Maid fans show the hell up, as this video shows. It's because they love these ladies, and the ladies love them back. This was song 22 out of 24 and everyone was still going with this energy. There are a ton of bootleg videos of them playing clubs of like 40 and you can see how they interact with the crowd, particularly during "Miku's Magic Time". It's basically when everyone takes a break and Miku talks with the crowd and gets them to chant the magic words to bless the show. For the fun fact of the day: This video is a good show of their "good enough is not good enough" mentality towards music. That whole middle solo section excluding the last guitar bit wasn't on the album version of the song. They added it to the live shows because Kanami decided the song could be better for the crowd. As you said, you've got tons already recommended. I can only suggest the MV for "Rinne" or the live video for "Real Existence".
Their music makes me tear up as well. I feel the emotion in the lyrics, the music, the transitions themselves. Your not the only one. Excellent storytellers.
What makes this performance even more impressive is that this is the penultimate song of a 23 song set list that lasted more then 2 hours. Next to having ridiculous amounts of talent and skills, they have an equal amount of stamina.
The search for a "bad Band Maid song" is a journey of a lifetime that will ultimately bare no fruit. But no journey was ever been more worthy of taking.
@@GlennWH26 That's why other bands hang around outside B-M's residences on rubbish collection day. What's a bad song for B-M is a killer song for others :)
Great reaction as usual, Chief. "Domination" may not be everyone's favorite, but it ranks so high with everyone that it probably is their most popular song overall. I wish the official live versions of "Moratorium" and "Don't You Tell Me" were still up on UA-cam. Looking forward to what you have next. I don't think that you have listened to "Play" (live) yet. That is one that you should do soon.
Might be time to change it up a little bit, lets try "About Us" or "Daydreaming". You might actually cry on these. Happens to me though, sometimes I listen to B-M and just get some tears rolling down just cuz its so damn good.
I can only agree with that. These songs definitely have a very special vibe. And Daydreaming is my personal favourite of these ladies, which almost always hits its target in the chest area. :)
This is the video I have used in the past to introduce BAND-MAID to people. "Maids? Really?" they say, "Trust me" I say. We then have to pick their jaw up off the floor. (Altho' I have had a few times where BAND-MAID did nothing for them. I think they are alien imposters or just dead inside.) I listen to BAND-MAID daily, I can't quantify it but their music brings me great joy. There is only one other band that affects me the same way these days. "Skating Polly" is very different, grungy, noisy, punkish, popish, rock... They call their style "Ugly Pop" My current favorite by them is "They're Cheap (I'm Free)" They have a music video on their channel.
Skating Polly is amazing, I found them just before Band-Maid took over my life. Sounds like you might also like Summer Cannibals, especially live. Search for "Summer Cannibals live Little London Plane" if this link doesn't show up: ua-cam.com/video/kUnfgkMbIj8/v-deo.html
@@stevehall5128 I'm familiar with Summer Cannibals 🤘🤘 I have been listening to Skating Polly since just after "The Big Fit" was released. My first song/video was "Perfume for now" WOW. Immediate fan. I consider their latest album "The Make It All Show" to be an essential album everyone should have in their record collection. Oh, wait... do people still collect records? 😉
Others have mentioned it but my favourite is 'Blooming' I would suggest you watch it soon. 'Rinne' is another must see aswell as the slower song 'Daydreaming' and the song they wrote about the fans 'About Us'
Both Band-Maid and Babymetal release the onion ninjas upon us occasionally. Band-Maid's recently released live performance of their song for the fans about the effects of the virus on us all (About Us: ua-cam.com/video/qicgVAxCYV8/v-deo.html ) makes me tear up still. The one that gets me every time, though, is the acoustic duet between Saiki and Kanami, 'Anemone' but it's not available anywhere now except through the Chinese siti BiliBili: www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Vs411T7dE . 5:16 - The ladies are so confident of each others' abilities that here they decide (in the middle of banging out this tune) to play 'Hengao' (Strange Faces), and three of them rowd around to pull faces at Akane to try and put her off. 6:22 - note that MISA is holding a plectrum in the web between her thumb and finger, so she can switch lightning fast from slapping to picking - skills! Another great reaction to THE best Rock band on Earth.
Chief, one thing you’ll notice with BAND-MAID, especially the lives, is that Kanami often shreds through the entire song. A good example is the song “cross” live where Kanami’s guitar is a bit more forward in the mix so you can her going off. “cross” also has a super vocal performance by Saiki & Miku. For a change of pace, you can give a listen to their power ballad “Daydreaming”.
As brilliant as these ladies are, I find nothing is overplayed. All solos fit so well within the song. Magical stuff. And Saiki, is just incredible. She just lights up on stage now. As for crying, Nemophila Life (you have done) Band-maid. About Us live (gets me every time) X Japan Endless Rain (last live). This is my musical kryptonite.
Lovin the channel. Think it's either Moritorium, Blooming, or Different that you should look at next. All amazing and none will disappoint. Keep up the good work fella! 👍
Always love watching your vidyahs! Also I also lean into the monitor when I have a headset on to try and listen better LMFAO the bass lines are soooo amazing and the offbeats on the drum really hit me in my musical heart haha. I'm so happy to be able to keep adding to my playlists and finding new music. \m/
Thanks for your reactions. Even if you don't react to it you might want to check out the mv of Domination. It's a different animal. As far as suggestions go, I would say "Alone", "YOLO", "Secret my lips" or "Different". All available here on UA-cam. "Moratorium" live is available on BilliBilli as is other stuff not available here any more or ever, lol. Lastly I would suggest "So What" from the Just Bring It release but it may only be available like on Spotify or another music service. No video available that I know of.
Imagine being at that concert.... This being the 22nd song of a 23 song setlist that lasted over 2 hours. That energy is amazing! I mean, I get tired just watching them on video. lol And can we take a minute and just appreciate Misa, and how effortlessly she switches between slapping and picking? Just brilliant!
Once again you have did a wonderful reaction, full of genuine emotion. On a completely different emotion, I do not know if anyone else mentioned to watch Miku and Kanami after their short celebration guitar battle right before Akane's drum solo. When the guitars finish their solos Miku falls backwards square on her butt. Watch it again.
Seeing Band-Maid do their thing on top form is pure beauty. This isn't their very best of any one thing that is Band-Maid, but it shows a little bit of everything they have perfectly. Daydreaming - it's almost Nemophila "Life" levels of emotion.
I love kanamis' lead work throughout the whole song, melodic and intricate, listen to the studio version and its more apparent, hell buy world domination, prepare yourself and just stand back for something out of this world 🤘🤘
Since you love those great bass solo/guitar solo combos like me, you should watch the live version of DON'T YOU TELL ME if you can find it. It's sick! Discovered this band last week myself and I just can't get enough now.
Both Don't Let Me Down and the Dragon Cries are entirely in English. If you follow these songs you will quickly get a handle on Sai-chan's accent and that helped me more easily pick out the English Saiki sings. It takes a little practice but is well worth it. Don't Let Me Down was not written by Band-Maid and is their adult rated song where the shoe is in the other foot. Male rock stars have been singing about sex with girls since day one. When a woman does it it still turns some heads. Give it a listen if you get a chance. Welcome into the rabbit hole. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.
As you continue you will discern more English the accent being what it is. One phrase used in the song and in several other Band-Maid context is the phrase "just bring it" which sounds innocuous enough but in Japan it is considered quite rude in polite company. Almost tantamount to saying go to hell in English. The deeper you dig the more you will discover. BTW the phrase "breaking new gate" is Kyoto slang for taking a woman's virginity. Similar to the English slang popping her cherry. I always recommend Gion-cho which is the only song written exclusively for Band-Maiko. All other Band-Maiko tunes are redone Band-Maid songs previously released. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.

@@tomaztruck6 Gosh i got name tagged. Thx Tom. It's made me forget the popping the cherry comment i had now. Actually it hasn't, it was a boring comment.😏
My feeling is, there is an incredible sincerity in this band. A childlike fun, combined with extreme talent. It took them a few years before they could relax in their performance enough to develop this great charm they wear on their sleeve now. I'm sure they practised their asses off to reach that state, and they probably never aimed for it. It is a natural phenomenon that comes with thrust in each other and whatever happens. A beautiful thing. Did you see Miku fall on her ass after her duet with Kanami? And it still looked totally natural? That is a wonderful example of what I'm trying to say.
I am afraid this just not a rabbit hole you have entered, it is a rabbit expressway, and the toll is your very body and soul. There are 50 live song up of live songs, and THEY ARE ALL GOOD. Kanami is just churning the music out and Miku and sometimes Saiki are there with the lyrics with the insane rhythm section of Misa and Akane , sent by the gods, to ram the thing home. You cry watching this band because they deliver live with such passion, talent and joy. Band Maid are one of those 1 in a million combinations of people we only get once a decade. They are on a virtual concert here in Australia , 3rd from the bottom of a 25 plus bill. WTF ????. Well, they are gonna show them the new watermark for level for excellence and entertainment ,I am well sure of that. (Sorry for the rant.) BTW for a video try Rinne, official video clip. very cool stuff. Rinne clip > ua-cam.com/video/CQ9dbEVgZcA/v-deo.html
I couldn't believe where they appeared on that Australian virtual concert list as I had literally heard of no-one else on there apart from those 1 hit wonders from over a decade ago, The Killers. I always feel that they could sell out a stadium here in the UK and, I'm sure, anywhere else they played.
For some reason this live video always makes me feel a bit emotional, especially where Saiki yells "I'm feeling great!" and Miku tilts her head and body backwards with the happy, almost ecstatic smile, I can almost feel their joy of all their hard work paying off and of being able to share it with the Shibuya crowd!!!
Because that's what they do try puzzle acoustic live bring the tissues or before yesterday that's my Achilles heel if that doesn't work rinne will definitely be well
Just a side note if you pay attention in more than a few songs Saike will drop the line TAKE OVER THE WORLD Domination is one of them! Well they were ready to do that when the coven hit so now they practicing for the next shot at doing just that. !
Hey Chief, don't fret over the emotions. I sobbed like an infant when the song ended, until I remembered I could start it over...then I squealed like a little pig 🐷 and started the song again
When you can't decide what song to listen to just go to there channel, click on videos then close your eyes and scroll and move your mouse at random, then see what song you land on, they don't have a bad song so just enjoy, they do.

The Japanese writing attracted their attention and they never heard of the best Hard Rock band in the world until today. 🤙🏼😉
And this show doesn't necessarily go down well with some in terms of sound mix, with Kanami's guitar perhaps lacking a bit of presence. Maybe this is even a bit intentional on her part, in order not to distract too much from the others. Idk, this is just a feeling I have sometimes. Anyway, not for nothing one of, if not THE most popular, of their live performances. 【 'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!' - Band-Maid 】🕊️

I get a tear in the eye with BM, very often. You are not alone.
That closing verse at the end puts a strange, emotional cap on the song. It's like they're saying, "Thanks for coming on this journey with us!"
It's exactly that.
What makes this performance even more impressive is that this is the penultimate song of a 23 song set list that lasted more then 2 hours. Next to having ridiculous amounts of talent and skills, they have an equal amount of stamina.
Oh come on, I love Band maid. But Bruce Springsteen has done concerts up to 4 hours.
@@irish66 but he does many low energy songs
@@nem447 Ah, I get your point. He has times to take breathers. Interesting. I never thought of looking at it that way.
But after watching one of their concerts, when you see pictures of them crashed out in a puppy pile together, you know they are exhausted.
The search for a "bad Band Maid song" is a journey of a lifetime that will ultimately bare no fruit. But no journey was ever been more worthy of taking.
....And damn, how much we all enjoy the search :)
According to Miku, they write plenty of bad songs. That's why they have a wastebasket.
"Don't Let Me Down", an earlier Band-Maid song, has one of the hookiest choruses I've ever heard
Lol until he hears or reads the lyrics
@@ethangospodareck the lyrics are hilarious.
Might be time to change it up a little bit, lets try "About Us" or "Daydreaming". You might actually cry on these. Happens to me though, sometimes I listen to B-M and just get some tears rolling down just cuz its so damn good.
Yes, those two, and also "Smile" acoustic is one of my favorites.
I can only agree with that. These songs definitely have a very special vibe. And Daydreaming is my personal favourite of these ladies, which almost always hits its target in the chest area. :)
Amigo! For some emotional stuff try "Daydreaming" or "About us" as other people have mentioned. Keep Rocking!!!👍🏻🤘🏻✌🏻
That little thumbs up from Saiki to the crowd after the last HELLO chant is such a nice moment
You like grungy and dirty. Rinne is probably their most true metal track. Its on their channel with an MV.
Search for "Summer Cannibals live Little London Plane" if this link doesn't show up:
ua-cam.com/video/kUnfgkMbIj8/v-deo.html
@@stevehall5128 I'm familiar with Summer Cannibals 🤘🤘 I have been listening to Skating Polly since just after "The Big Fit" was released. My first song/video was "Perfume for now" WOW. Immediate fan. I consider their latest album "The Make It All Show" to be an essential album everyone should have in their record collection. Oh, wait... do people still collect records? 😉
They are such a great band live!
If you like bass stuff try their new release "No God". Edit: just noticed you already reacted... They only have a MV, but check out Blooming.
Others have mentioned it but my favourite is 'Blooming' I would suggest you watch it soon. 'Rinne' is another must see aswell as the slower song 'Daydreaming' and the song they wrote about the fans 'About Us'
Talk about emotions if you can find it check out *Don't You Tell ME from Zepp Tokyo* now that will bring you to tears.
Thx Tony. Great comment, great links.👍
@@GaryHolloway-810 Thanks Gary...though that has to have been your least amusing comment ever. 😂
@@tonygriffin_ It's ok, yours brought a 🙂 to my face :)
Took me a minute to work out what onion ninjas meant, that's great mate, and a great comment all round
@@claremiller9979It's a term I heard from a very Metal reactor, Sonny Von Cleveland regarding a Babymetal song that made him cry. It fits.
As for crying,
Nemophila Life (you have done)
Band-maid. About Us live (gets me every time)
X Japan Endless Rain (last live). This is my musical kryptonite.
Real Existence (Live) is another fantastic Band Maid performance one to watch!
Emotional is OK when you perceive beauty. I get that way with this song and more so with Daydreaming - maybe next?
Well... I'd see mv for Blooming or Choose Me and thx for your reactions ;)
Almost cried? Someone get this man a link of 'Puzzle' live acoustic stat! :-)
Lovin the channel. Think it's either Moritorium, Blooming, or Different that you should look at next. All amazing and none will disappoint. Keep up the good work fella! 👍
They’re impact is so like the first wave in “64”! I was there, and these Japanese Beatles are so unique in their way as were the mop tops! Flawless!
I am just waiting the world to open up... and go c this queen's life on stage..
I think "About Us" will make you emotional. Especially when you learn what the song is about and read the lyrics.
That's our maids CLEANING HOUSE!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍❤❤❤
JOY! So friggin' good...
That was song #22 of a 23 song set that night.
I would like to see your reaction to what some have called the most polarising Band Maid song. Start Over.
Every time I see Thier videos.. Especially the lives vids I always get goosebumps 🙄
Seeing Band-Maid do their thing on top form is pure beauty. This isn't their very best of any one thing that is Band-Maid, but it shows a little bit of everything they have perfectly.
Daydreaming - it's almost Nemophila "Life" levels of emotion.
I love kanamis' lead work throughout the whole song, melodic and intricate, listen to the studio version and its more apparent, hell buy world domination, prepare yourself and just stand back for something out of this world 🤘🤘
Should do play from same show!
Miku was trying her hardest to keep up with Kanami. She almost did! So fun to watch.
Since you love those great bass solo/guitar solo combos like me, you should watch the live version of DON'T YOU TELL ME if you can find it.
It's sick!
Discovered this band last week myself and I just can't get enough now.
Playing this song everyday from the CD set, I always hear Saiki's "YOU SAY!" in the intro, even though it's not there on the CD.
I love your BANDMAID reactions!!
Please react to ONE OK ROCK too!!
I have missed you!

Saiki showing full on her stage commander chops here, awesome
My feeling is, there is an incredible sincerity in this band. A childlike fun, combined with extreme talent. It took them a few years before they could relax in their performance enough to develop this great charm they wear on their sleeve now. I'm sure they practised their asses off to reach that state, and they probably never aimed for it. It is a natural phenomenon that comes with thrust in each other and whatever happens. A beautiful thing. Did you see Miku fall on her ass after her duet with Kanami? And it still looked totally natural? That is a wonderful example of what I'm trying to say.
Nice video

I couldn't believe where they appeared on that Australian virtual concert list as I had literally heard of no-one else on there apart from those 1 hit wonders from over a decade ago, The Killers. I always feel that they could sell out a stadium here in the UK and, I'm sure, anywhere else they played.
They don’t have a bad song. Don’t You Tell Me (live) is definitely worth checking out. But honestly you can’t go wrong with any suggestion.
I have that emotional response to this performance as well.
👍👍 this should be good
Because that's what they do try puzzle acoustic live bring the tissues or before yesterday that's my Achilles heel if that doesn't work rinne will definitely be well
Just a side note if you pay attention in more than a few songs Saike will drop the line TAKE OVER THE WORLD Domination is one of them! Well they were ready to do that when the coven hit so now they practicing for the next shot at doing just that. !
I think its time for Daydreaming

And this show doesn't necessarily go down well with some in terms of sound mix, with Kanami's guitar perhaps lacking a bit of presence. Maybe this is even a bit intentional on her part, in order not to distract too much from the others. Idk, this is just a feeling I have sometimes. Anyway, not for nothing one of, if not THE most popular, of their live performances.
