Brasil
Maradona’s Goal of the Century against England in 1986
Brazil’s Team Goal against Italy in 1970
Siphiwe Tsabalala South Africa vs Mexico 2010
Ronaldo vs spain?
Robin Van Persie VS. Spain (flying header)?
Diego Maradona. The only man capable of scoring the most famous and the most infamous goal in the same game.
With his hand yes
That's way he's the goat, the gooooaaat!!!!
@Marge Simpson
No, it was not his hand, but rather the hand of God. 😉
👍⚽
@@Bo_D_Hansen nope just a cheater like Messi and aguero
How is Robin Van Persie's flying header against Spain in the 2014 edition not part of the list, WatchMojo😭😭??
It’s just a header smh
@@joaquincrumley7775 ur actually deluded if u think its nothing special
@@snazzy8767 right but I’m saying any player can do that goal with practice. These ones are special.
Agreed.
You can’t expect anime UA-camrs to know about ball
That Pavard goal was to perfection, Tim Cahill vs Netherlands was crazy good too. So many goals over the years missed out.
Ronaldinho's free kick against England in 2002 should be here
No. He fluffed his cross.
@@disclaimer.imjokin It's still an incredible goal, mate.
@@disclaimer.imjokin proof?
Nah. It wouldn't work against any decent goalkeeperk.
@@bimapringgo it's true, but Maradona's goals also was scored against crappy defenders and a weak goalkeeper and doesn't make the goal less incredible.
Diego Forlan vs Germany in 2010 and Van Persie's "flying Dutchman" should be on this list
I've always remembered Joe Cole's goal for England against Sweden in 2006. Excellent ball control followed by a wicked volley into the top corner
I'm surprised Van Persie's flying header against Spain in 2014 didn't make the list. That was amazing!
Gio van Bronckhorst's worldie is probably my favourite goal ever that I've seen live on TV. You can't hit the ball better than that. Absolute perfection.
The ball in 2010 was shocking.
@@Revelian1982 Most iconic ball in history, I remember having a replica it was insane.
@@luce3 Iconic, no. Memorable, yes. Why? Because it didn't behave properly.
@@Revelian1982 Literally ask anyone and they will say the Jubbilani and the Brazuca are the most iconic balls in world cup history. Its iconic cuz it was different, thats what makes it iconic.
@@luce3 So it's an icon of shitness, basically, because it didn't behave like a ball should when struck.
I love how much work she puts to pronounce those names accurately. Kudos to that
She got some wrong...
What? Do you mean American versions of them?
She's trying but still getting them wrong. In Brazilian Portuguese we don't pronounce the L the way she did in Alberto. Kudos for trying though, it's more than most narrators usually do.
@@krautgazer I thought it was quite annoying, just say them in your regional accent she trying too hard 😂
@@krautgazer And we would never pronounce Richarlison name like that.
I knew Dennis Bergkamp’s goal against Argentina was gonna make the list, was watching it live and it was an epic moment
“THERE IS BEARCUM”
Cambiasso for Argentina needs to be mentioned. Can't remember who it was against but it had like 45 passes or something before the ball hit the net, it was a superb goal. Argentina also scored a majestic free kick against England in 98 that never gets a mention yet is one of the best 'team' free kicks you will see.
Against Serbia.
Manuel negrete goal was a beautiful goal in 1986 Mexican world cup
As a Colombian, watching James Rodriguez’s goal always puts a smile on my face :)
Manuel Negrete’s goal against Bulgary has to be at least number 2 in this list
3:14 Saeed Alowiran 🇸🇦♥️👏🏼
6:40 Now That That ia Brazil🇧🇷🔥🔥🔥⚽️💯👍
There is no way Richarlison's goal is better than James Rodriguez's goal against Uruguay
Lol it is richarliison goal is better
Totally agree bruh...
Rodriguez's goal was better then Richarlisons! Any day of the week
@@harishbhatta3199 no overrated goal
Richarlison's goal was decent but seriously I hate watching it because I went for a piss and missed it
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! Amazing goals in deed..!! 👍
Man that Richarlison goal is wayyy tooo high up
As all good things should be.
Just kidding, they should have switched that one with Pelé's goal against Sweden in 1958.
It deserves it
Michael Owen's goal against Argentina in 1998 definitely deserves a mention, especially as that was a goal that made Owen a bigger household name. This list should of been a top 20 since there has been more than 10 brilliant World Cup goals honestly.
I'm from Argentina and I must agree. It was a beautiful show of skill. It was unfortunate Owen's career never reached it's full potential, because he was an amazing player.
Michael Owen's goal against Argentina in 1998, running from midfield over taking defenders and scoring a beauty. He was a teenager
James' goal was not only the best goal of the tournament, 2014, but he was also honoured with the Puskas Award, which is the recognition of the most beautiful goal in that calendar year by FIFA ... watch again when he gets the pass, 5 Uruguay players converge on him, as they knew his potential and he didn't disappoint..
It has many similarities with Maxi's gol vs Mexico
@@danteyampey737 yes it does, fantastic goal as well
I got to see Pele play. Awesome
I was a goalie in my youth. Damned good too. Top ranked. Always watch the feet and the ball. The ball scores the goal not the person kicking it. The feet will tell you where the ball is going...
What professional team did you for?
@@winser21 youth soccer, sir. My brother played pro indoor.
But we called ourselves The Strikers
Each of these was spectacular and i could add 100 more for this list.
RVP vs Spain?
It should've been here but I guess importance was also taken into account?
It was part of one sided thrashing afterall
@@tusharsurankar5958 It reinvigorated the Dutch who were behind 1-0 at the time and very demoralized.
The match also broke Spain for the rest of the tournament, so I'd say it was definitely important.
Defending champs knocked out in the group stages, winner's curse and whatnot, but still that Spanish team should not have gone out in the first round. RvP in my eyes will remain responsible for it. Puskas finalist as well... So yea!
Sweden had a couple of real nice ones back in 1994. Probably the first AND last time we will be playing the semi-finals in any Football World Cup :)
Er...Sweden played in the 1958 final against Brazil.
Rvp goal against Spain how was this not on here
Michael Owen vs Argentina in France 98…. That goal needs a mention
glad we both agree. that's the goal that made me fall in love with english football international level
Notice a couple of things:
1. She said football 👍🏻
2. Maxi Rodríguez is not lefty 🤯
3. Impossible to please everyone with a top 10 of goals of a tournament that began in 1930 🤷🏻♂️
It is football
Well said.
Only thing they missed was the “honorable mentions” to squeeze in a few other incredible goals.
Van Persie's header against Spain and Borgetti's header against Italy should be on the list
That Saudi goal should be ranked higher than this. It looks not dissimilar to Maradona's "Goal of the Century", except he started even deeper in his own half, he ran faster, and the goal was just as improbable.
Yeah
Also, owairan beat more ( or equal ) defenders too
Maybe. But the first moves Diego did are from another world. I think it's also a question of style.
As fas as goals I remember watching live Robin Van Persie's Flying Dutchman against Spain in 2014 is probably my favourite.
It's in 2014
@@adithyabandari2973 You’re right ! Thank you for pointing it out !
At the very least I think that this could have had some HM. Underrated was Cahill's goal for Australia against the Netherlands?
In every list not originating in America, there is a debate about whether Maradona's or Carlos Alberto is number 1, there's no debate that these 2 are first and second. That's a fact.
Agreed.
One as a team goal, the other one as a god making his thing.
The fact that Manuel Negrete’s goal from the 1986 World Cup isn’t on here is BS
Van Persie's head goal against Spain is worth mentioning
Manuel Negrete world cup 86 Mexico VS Bulgaria Gol de tijera
Need to redo this list with either of yesterday's goals. Di Maria for Argentina with a stunner and Mbappe with the most clutch comeback goal ever.
I watched the Maxi Rodriguez goal live, at my grandparents house in Tijuana, Mexico. All everyone said was “Wow”
The pronunciation of names and countries in this video is amazing!! A very underrated skill that was pulled off to perfection
The Brazilian names sound terrible
Make one Top 10 greatest players of World Cup of all time , Pele , Zidane , Beckenbauer , Müller , Cruyff
Eusebio, R9, Fontaine
World cup Mbappe is clear
Messi
1. Maradona
2. Pele
3. Ronaldo (orginial)
4. Zidane
5. Beckenbauer
6. Klose (record goalscorer)
7. Mbappe
8. Garrincha
9. Just Fontaine (13 goals in 1 World Cup)
10. Bobby Moore
Messi goes to number 4 in the list if he wins against France
@@Sajdar85 mbappe haahaha
Fun fact: Pavard, for his banger vs. Argentina, was awarded the FIFA World Cup Goal of the Tournament Award for the 2018 Tournament
It was also the first time (and so far only time, unless someone from Argentina wins the FIFA World Cup Goal of the Tournament Award for 2022) the award went to someone who was part of the team that won World Cup
Archie Gemmel, WC '78, is definitely worth a mention
Negrete’s goal vs Bulgaria 86 is missing!
The flying header goal was amazing, By Robin Van Persie
Most meaningful goals in WC history...
When I saw the title of this video. The first goal that came to mind was that Van Bronckhorst goal against Uruguay
Muntari's 45th minute goal V Uruguay 2010 Quaryer Finals
Great pronunciation of the names, good vid
Well Zidane's panenka deserved to be here. Not only did he made that in the most crucial moment but that he did to prime buffon and the sheer grace is still isn't matched
Josimars goal against Poland in 86 ...very underrated.
2026 Cup is gonna be epic; 3 organizing Countries basically the whole North America Continent. 50% more teams, meaning almost surely all the "great" teams will be present, because currently there's always 3-4 historic ones that miss the tournament because of how many countries there are and how competitive the qualifiers are. But with more room they will for sure attend, as well as many teams that have never gone, particularly in CONCACAF which will have its 3 big ones already in, leaving more room for Central America and the Caribbean.
qatar 2022 >>>2026
That Maxi Goalll wow
Klas Ingesson's goal for Sweden in the Quarter final (as far as I remember) at WC 1994
Where is Carlos Tevez's 2010 Round of 16 goal against Mexico? That ball was a rocket and beautifully executed!
What about the flying header from Van Persie?
Hagi vs Colombia in 94 was like van Bronkhorst but better
Having lived thru so many World Cups, the most memorable one is still Ronaldinho vs England 2002.
And Roberto Carlos free kick that defied physics
Roberto Carlos greatest free kick I missing... 🤯
What about the Belgians winning goal against Japan in the 2018 World Cup? Not a long shot, and no acrobatics, but a beautiful team effort where every step and every touch of the ball is carried out perfectly. The catharsis of the story of that whole game is completed by this 10 seconds short sublime, full fieldcrossing counterattack...
THIS! 👌
I once met Giovanni Van Bronckhorst irl when he was coach of 🇳🇱Feyenoord🇳🇱, He is AMAZING
Manuel Negrette Mexico vs Bulgaria 1986. Go watch it then do over the list!
I still love Netherlands Superman goal by Persie in 2014
No mention about the Mario Gotze goal from Germany vs Argentina in the 2014 World Cup Finals
Some great goals that are missing and imo should have been in ahead of Platt's are: Eder vs USSR, M Laudrup vs Uruguay, Gemmill vs Holland, Haan vs Italy, V Persie vs Spain, Cahill vs Holland, Pele vs Sweden, Owen vs Argentina, Mattheus vs Yugoslavia.
There are so many goals to choose it’s hard
Klaus Fischer´s bicycle kick goal. Where is it?
As an Irishman i have to say Ray Houghton vs Italy in USA '94
Tim Cahill vs the Netherlands 2014
Michael Owen vs Argentina 1998
Im just glad they mentioned the Hand of God even though it was just in passing
The way she pronounced "Benjamin Pavard" 🤣🤣
Benjaman Parrrrggghhhhhhhhva
She pronounced it just fine for a foreigner
😂
Not that bad tbf
The way she pronounced "Carlos Alberto"
Top 3 (In my opinion):
1. Diego Maradona vs England
2. Giovanni Van Bronckhorst vs Uruguay
3. Richarlison vs Serbia
No matter what order this is, these three are the best goals in world cup history.
Where is Siphiwe Tshabalala's screamer from 2010 opening match against Mexico?
Tom Cahill’s goal against Netherlands in 2014 should be on this list
How is Robin Van Persie's flying header against Spain in 2014 not on this list? :O
Donovan's winning goal against Algeria in the 2010 wc
Hell no not top 10
Definitely not top 10 but worthy of an honorable mention
Why the hell am I still subscribed to this channel
Baggio vs Czech 90...one of the greatest ever
Your pronunciation is impeccable!!! 😂
2014 Van Persie goal for Netherlands is a glaring omission.
Ronaldinhos and R. Carlos's free kicks could easily be added
Why wasn't the Jared Borgetti header against Italy included?
Archie Gemmil’s goal gets no love?!
Hahahaha how can Dennis Bergkamp's goal not be on 1. By far best world cup goal ever.
Saudi Arabias's goal against Belgium is almost the same as Maradona's goal...but better ...James Rodriguez goal should be way higher...it was awarded the best goal of the year not just the WC.
How can you upload this before the final?????
Hagi vs Colombia in USA 1994 was ridiculous
The narrator sounds like someone who corrects your pronunciation to "BarTHelona" and then rolls up their windows when they see a homeless person.
Toni kroos free kick 2018 how is it not in this video
Mexico's Jaret Borgeti's goal vs Italy
Where the hell is Forlan's goal vs. Germany in 2010? WTF
Jared Borgetti vs Italy should be on there
Muslera: when your listed twice on this list and you didn't even score !!
Tim Cahill’s mid air volley vs Netherlands?
I knew that Maradona would be N1 and Dennis Bergkamp’s goal would be on the list
maybe one day too soon for this list. i mean...maybe argentine vs france will have some epic one. nice list though.
I can’t believe van persie’s header vs spain is not included in this video
Manuel Negrete's in 86' against Bulgaria
