@@Imagine-Amy Martinez was scored 3 times before the shootouts, but the 1st and 3rd were penalties (and the 3rd one was unearned, to be honest) and goalkeepers are expected to get goaled most of the time on penalties, even him who has earned a reputation for being good at them. Also, Mbappe is an excellent penalty shooter. As for France's 2nd goal, it was an amazing shoot, out of an incredible play by france. But so was the last play against Kolo Muani, which he miraculously stopped, earning us the tie. He had no business stopping either of those, but he stopped one regardless Then in the penalty shootouts, he did his job, as usual: He stopped one, once again securing us the victory Overall, he did an amazing job, even though the number of goals may make one think otherwise at first.
Born in 1991. Ronaldinho made me love football. Cristiano Ronaldo impressed me with his skills and resilience. Lionel Messi took it to another level. First by dominating football with Xavi and Iniesta, then by making Barcelona World Champions again, ending with being the architect behind the World Cup win. The best director couldn’t write this movie. I don’t know why, but I love Lionel Messi and I will forever be grateful to what he brought to the world.
4 out of 7. France making it to the big final in more than half of the occasions... It's quite unbelievable. The two defeats were on penalties shoot-outs so there not even considered as "lost game" by FIFA The closest nations are Brazil, Argentina and Germany, with 2 finals. When you consider all these kids born in France and trained by the French academies who end up playing for African selections, for Spain or Portugal... Like it or not, France is THE real football powerhouse.
I don't consider them a real powerhouse because they have to import Africans, before 1998 when the French team was mostly white native Frenchmen, they were worse than England, they weren't even considered among elite football nations
But you are only taking into account 1998-2022. Taking all the world cups into account, Argentina played 6 finals, winning 3, Brazil played 7, winning 5, and Germany played 8, winning 4.
In last 7 World Cup, France: 4 times finalist Brazil, Argentina, Germany: 2 times finalist 1998- France(c) vs Brazil 2002- Brazil(c) vs Germany 2006- Italy(c) vs France 2010- Spain(c) vs Netherlands 2014- Germany(c) vs Argentina 2018- France(c) vs Croatia 2022- Argentina(c) vs France
I don't understand what's remarkable about the "last 7" world cups. Last 10 world cups: France, Argentina, Germany: 4 times finalist. Brazil: 3 times finalist. Las 12 world cups: Argentina, Germany: 5 times finalist. France: 4 times finalist. Brazil, Italy: 3 times finalist.
great video, great memory of finals. you actually can add in 1994 as well - the back view of an depressed Roberto Baggio is one of the most classic world cup picture of all time.
1998-France won 1998-Brazil lost 2002-Brazil won 2006-France lost 2018-France won 2014-Argentina lost 2022-Argentina won This is why everyone say football is unfair.
The last 7 World Cup Football Finals: France was in four of them and they won twice. Brazil was in two of them and they won once. Germany was in two of them and they won once. Argentina was in two of them and they won once. Italy was in one of them and they won. Spain was in one of them and they won. Netherlands was in one of them and they lost. Croatia was in one of them and they lost. It's incredible to see how almost just 4 national teams (France, Brazil, Germany and Argentina) have dominated football since 1998.

Buffon in 2006, Casillas in 2010 and now Martinez in 2022. The unsung heroes of world cups.❤🐐
Martinez I’m not sure but Buffon and Casillas are 🐐
@@Imagine-Amy Martinez was scored 3 times before the shootouts, but the 1st and 3rd were penalties (and the 3rd one was unearned, to be honest) and goalkeepers are expected to get goaled most of the time on penalties, even him who has earned a reputation for being good at them. Also, Mbappe is an excellent penalty shooter.
As for France's 2nd goal, it was an amazing shoot, out of an incredible play by france. But so was the last play against Kolo Muani, which he miraculously stopped, earning us the tie. He had no business stopping either of those, but he stopped one regardless
Then in the penalty shootouts, he did his job, as usual: He stopped one, once again securing us the victory
Overall, he did an amazing job, even though the number of goals may make one think otherwise at first.
Martinez isn't unsung lots of people are talking abt Martinez

Born in 1991. Ronaldinho made me love football. Cristiano Ronaldo impressed me with his skills and resilience. Lionel Messi took it to another level. First by dominating football with Xavi and Iniesta, then by making Barcelona World Champions again, ending with being the architect behind the World Cup win. The best director couldn’t write this movie. I don’t know why, but I love Lionel Messi and I will forever be grateful to what he brought to the world.

4 out of 7. France making it to the big final in more than half of the occasions... It's quite unbelievable. The two defeats were on penalties shoot-outs so there not even considered as "lost game" by FIFA
The closest nations are Brazil, Argentina and Germany, with 2 finals.
